  1. Is anyone keeping track of which Brewers haven't been bashed? Or who's been bashed the least? Bashing Gabe doesn't make a whole lot of sense for either his offense or defense. He's not an all-star player, but he is what his and he can contribute. It's not like he's Bonds in the OF. As far as who's been bashed the least...my guess would be Manny Parra or maybe Damian Miller
  2. But how would we advance the runner to third? Or hit the sac fly?
  3. I think Maddux is a good pitching coach. He doesn't turn water into to wine, but he has shown some above average coaching with RPs. Especially with developing a pitch to at least give the hitter something else to look for besides the #1 pitch. I think starters are much more difficult to coach up and help them due to the fact that they will (hopefully) go through the lineup more than once.
  4. I really like Hart, but he could use a day off and it would make sense to get Gross some ABs since he's coming off of a hot stint. I think the original post makes more of a discussion of resting Hart while the subject seems to say bench him. Maybe that has led to confusion?
  5. Let's not bring up defense since some fans think Braun should be moved to the OF. Neither of them are great at defense, but I could see giving Hart a little rest.
  6. He is 2 full seasons removed, but he didn't even throw 90 innings last year. Why does it matter that he is 24 and not 21?
  7. Agreed JohnBriggs, but I don't think one has to refer to watching Parra's innings like a 12 year old kid. The Brewers don't have the best history with young talented pitchers and good health. I just would like to prevent it. I guess I'm a little perplexed that they made the move now (unless Prince will serve suspension soon), but it's not going to make or break anything and I like Gross' bat off the bench instead of Counsell.
  8. If that "just" 12 pitchers refers to a post I made...I made it in sarcasm. A manager should be able to get by with 12 pitchers...we'll see if Nedly can.
  9. Gwynn has been activated, so he could have been called up instead of Gross (not saying he should or shouldn't have I'm just pointing that out).
  10. At least someone showed some passion I guess. We'll have to wait through the appeal process.
  11. I guess we could put Hart at first, but it's not like we have too many guys in the OF who are playing all that well. Hart's having the best year out there. I'd keep Dillon out there.
  12. Any chance Fielder appeals it? I guess it would depend on whether or not he thinks he can get it reduced though...
  13. Gwynn should be able to come off the DL soon or is already able to come off.
  14. What is Ned going to do with one less pitcher?
  15. Hopefully Gross will get some at bats soon here and let's see if he can stay hot. Good luck Gabe!
  16. He pitched 85 innings last year. I think a limit of 150 is fine. I just don't see the point in double last years innings. In my opinion, I think we should be cautious with him since he is young and is lefthanded. If he doesn't fit into the Brewers plans, he is big time trade bait. If the Brewers do cap him off innings wise, I'd rather have him start. How many innings should he pitch this year? This is all obviously subjective, but I'd like to see the Brewers stick to their plan and not put additional stress on Parra for the sake of staying in the race and using him in a mop up role.
  17. If you want Braun's stick he has to play somewhere. We all wish his defense was better, but he's won a heck of a lot more games than lost. This is not Rickie Weeks. Rickie did not win us that many more games than lost his first year. This is almost a non-point right now. If Braun finishes with less than 25 errors this year I'll give him a grade of like a C - for defense. He was a SS in college...is this getting lost on anyone? He's played this position a little over 2 years. We need to not be so negative about everything once in awhile. Braun is having a historic season let's enjoy it and it'll work out on the field. If we're 1-2 years from now with the same problems the Brewers can address it then. If you want Braun off the field due to defense, that is your opinion. We all knew what we were getting into with his glove. This isn't shocking.
  18. This has been rumored down hear for awhile. The big selling point in Franklin is that there are quite a few corporate headquarters (Nissan is in the process of building a huge facility). There have been talks that they might consider building a park close to Nissan's new headquarters and making it a park that business people would take clients to, etc. It would be interesting and save the Sounds future.
  19. I'd rather save Parra and put more innings with Yo (I don't want to, but one of the two will have to go over) due to Parra's severe arm injury we had. Some can take the limit as laughable, but Parra has displayed he could be a #2 or #3 starter in the bigs as soon as next year (more likely a #3). The inning total shouldn't be taken lightly unless we want to blow his arm out again (Yo doesn't have arm history - but a possible history of being overworked in high school). We either go with Capuano or get someone else to do it. I don't believe McClung is the answer since he also is only a few years removed from arm injuries and he's more of a max 5 IP/start guy. My solution inside the organization would be DiFelice. He may not have any + pitches, but he's been dealing and is a pitching vet who I think might be worth the shot. His big plus is that he does not walk too many guys at all and his strikeout numbers have been high (again I don't know if that will translate well to the bigs due to his lack of + pitches).
  20. I agree all the talk because of last night. He was a SS in college I believe? Well either way he has 2 years of professional baseball experience at 3B. Rickie played 2B in college (if I remember right) and he still struggled. Putting Braun in the OF gives us a glaring need at 3B and makes drafting LaPorta questionable at best -- they won't move Hall unless they'd have to. I stand by Braun and some people might just need some patience. He should still be in Nashville defensively, but we didn't have that luxury. We all knew this would happen and just because his bat isn't advanced doeesn't mean we can expect that in all facets of his game. There are a lot more issues on this team than his glove...where was all this talk in June?
  21. Any changes to Franchise mode?
  22. I'd go w/ the home hat. It's the one I have. Be careful though. Some of the brims that they give you just flat out stink and you feel like you're going to break it if you curve your brim at all. I had to go through nearly 8 hats at the game with the concession guy before I found one that was "normal".
  23. That's too bad. I never really heard of him until his name was in Billy Madison (I'm 23, so I didn't really know too much baseball history when that move came out).
