  1. Braun, Fielder, Hall, Weeks and Hardy are all batting under .250. Hall and Braun have a OBP of .235 and .226 respectively.
  2. Did you watch spring training when the Colorado crew did half of the Brewers/Rockies game. They were brutal. The color commentator was so annoying.
  3. What about Luis Pena? That's not too bad of an idea. But I doubt Corey Hart is going anywhere. The thing to remember is that next year YoGa should be mature enough to become a quality #1. Parra has all of the potential to be a quality #2. That leaves Villanueva and Suppan as the #3 and #4 which suits them fine. So all we technically need for a very respectable staff is a #5. (Which could very well be Bush) However, since the Giants are going to be bad for years yet. I would be willing to trade a few young bats (Escobar/LaPorta) for Cain or Lincecum. Remember, the Brewers don't need LaPorta next year. They have an option on Cameron that might be attractive to the Brewers.
  4. Loved: Overbay (Just seemed like a really good guy. Plus, I love watching him and Capuano pick off base runners) Carlos Lee (Always smiling and having fun. I really enjoyed watching him play) Molitor (Pretty obvious) Cirillo (Anyone who has a comment about Milwaukee along the lines of "There's something special about putting on that uniform" rules) Hated: Estrada (Lazy, fat and slow. I hated everything about watching him play) Cordero (I was OK with him taking more money. But I thought his anger about the Brewers not offering a contract before 2007 was bad) Sheffield (Wasn't much to like about the guy. But then, he felt the same way about Milwaukee) Cappellan (Newsflash - you were never very good. That is why you were sent to AAA) Hendrickson (But then, that really wasn't Ben's fault)
  5. Yes, but last year he would have struck out on 5 balls. He is being more patient this year!
  6. As it turns out, Wes Helms got traded for $1. That is all the Marlins had to give the Phillies, who agreed to pay his $2.4 million salary this season. (He is under contract next season, though the Marlins could buy him out.) Miami Herald That is just funny.
  7. M'eh. Honestly, I think the Brewers just dropped the ball. They promised these things to season ticket holders way before they had made arrangements for them to actually happen. I know they have been having some difficulty in fulfilling their obligations. It has taken them forever to set a date for the Prince bat as well as the autographed baseballs. Baseball players have tons of things on their schedule other than baseball. This has been very difficult for the Brewers to schedule. For all we know, Prince might have set that day aside to take part in a Make-A-Wish program. Or he is busy signing his new contract. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  8. The Bucks are horrible. I was able to sit in a luxury box tonight, because a friend of mine who works at a big law firm couldn't find anyone else to take them. The box wasn't even full, because they couldn't give the tickets all away. Sitting in the luxury box next to us was the new GM, Hammond. Well, last year, around the same time...I went with my friend to a Bucks game in the same luxury box because the Bucks were so bad no one would take the tickets. Last year, we marveled at Larry Harris sitting next to us. This year it was Hammond. Some things don't change. But here is my real vent...Can the Bucks turn off the freakin music and just play basketball!!! At least 80% of the time, something is being blasted over the loud speakers. Its just 2 straight hours of crappy music and stupid fan chants. Let me watch the game!
  9. Gabe was very high on my list of possible scapegoats this year. I must say, he has been way better than expected. Small sample size and all - he just seems like the Joe Dillon of the OF. And, unlike Gross (who, by the way, is running away with my scapegoat award right now) Kapler is very good defensively.
  10. I hate that I am not suprised at all that we beat Santana and lost to Figueroa.
  11. Gavin Floyd is pitching very "well" for the White Sox
  12. I went when I was in 1st grade - so I don't really remember much. But my parents took us again when I was a sophomore in HS. My brother was a junior and my sister an 8th grader. Worst vacation ever.
  13. Yesterday Parra was topping out around 86-87 the whole game as well. I know the weather was a factor, but that is about 5 MPH slowing that Parra was throwing in Milwaukee. I think the gun is at least 3 or 4 MPH off. I can't believe Brian and Bill just keep talking about how Ben's velocity is down - and completely ignore that Johan is down as well. It seems pretty obvious the gun isn't right.
  14. It's all about the expectations... If you were hoping that Weeks would ever have a .900+ OPS, you are certainly going to be disappointed. To me, Weeks is becoming pretty similar to Jenkins. Both strike out way too much. And both look horrible at times. However, they are both going to have incredibly hot streaks where they can just carry a team. And at the end of the year, you look at their stats and say "You know what, that was a pretty good year." It was discussed in the Trade Forum, but I would imagine a few more people would be on board with the idea of trading Weeks for Brian Roberts now.
  15. Everyone had been talking about how good Torres had looked. But I haven't seen a single game where he looked like he had command.
  16. Is suckiness an injury? This strike zone has been amazing all night.
  17. Just making bad pitchers look good. The Brewers always play well against #1 pitchers - but those scrubs always make us look like fools.
  18. I can't make this one. But I was at the game yesterday with Pedro - thanks to a winning draw! They are great seats. And it was a very enjoyable experience - inspite of the game. Pedro = Awesome
  19. I don't know the name, but Braun wasn't using Superstar today. He was using his song from last year.
  20. That's funny. If Hernan got called up solely as a CF, I am surprised Nix wasn't called instead.
  21. people who don't read a thread before posting. Just because a thread mentioned Ned Yost, does not mean it is a "bash Ned Yost" thread... Just because a thread mentioned Gagne, does not mean the topic is his latest struggles...
  22. That is a non-issue. If they were going to put Gwynn on the DL, they would have already. From everything Tom H. has written and Ned and Tony have said - he should be ready in a few days.
  23. His numbers aren't what is impressive. His approach at the plate is refreshing. Yost is always preaching "quality at bats". I don't think anyone on the team is better than Dillon and Kapler at putting a quality at bat together. (Well, maybe Kendall) Gwynn seems the logical choice to send down. (Get regular playing time. And as a pitch hitter, he is pretty similar to Counsell.) However, it really seems like Gross isn't a favorite of Ned's. I don't see the point of sending Parra down. I don't want to have him wasting innings in AAA. I would rather have him go to long man if we decide to limit his innings.
