  1. There is no point in cutting him with a big contract - since the contract is guaranteed. I would imagine, if a high priced closer really faltered...he would develop some mystery ailment that put him on the DL. (Sore Arm)
  2. Billy is also leading the league in strikeouts. So they can't make too much of a difference.
  3. Way to go Weeks. But to be fair, if he was a better fielder - we wouldn't have needed it.
  4. Cusack i could live without. (How many times can you play the same freakin character!) However, High Fidelity = Awesomeness It is largely what you like. Because if you don't have things in common - well, you are going to drift apart anyways. However, I know plenty of Brewer fans who I can't stand. My advice, if you don't think you will miss her - then what is the point in being with her?
  5. I think I would have to. I remember my 1000th post. *sighs fondly*
  6. When screen names start to mean too much... If someone called me "twobrewers" in real life - I would react as though they had called my name. I don't even wonder what peoples real names are anymore...If I ever met anyone from Brewerfan.net, I would refuse to call them by their actual name.
  7. I'm with Ross actually. I never do on a freeway or in a city - but on back country roads, I will throw any half eaten fruit or vegetable out the window and not think twice about it. I don't think of it as "littering" at all - since I know some animal is going to be by in the next few hours to pick it up and eat it. But then, I grew up in a small town with farms. So it is just a different attitude. I've never met a farmer who would be upset that I threw an apple core into his field.
  8. <====== He's good. Seriously, it is going to be really interesting to see what the Brewers end up doing with Gamel. His bat and glove are going to be MLB ready at significantly different times. He looks like he could hit MLB pitching next year. Problem is, he might need more than that to be a quality defensive 3B.
  9. The game is on WMLW.
  10. Not much love for Volleyball. At least Gone is on board! I love watching baseball - but hate playing. I need a sport where I am moving and active.
  11. I think that is a perfect reason to argue against signing players to long term contracts right now. We don't know what our next TV deal is going to be. If/when we know, then we can worry about spending the money.
  12. I actually think she has been doing a very good job. She is pretty well informed. My only complaint is that I hate having to have a good-looking woman as a sideline reporter. It's so cliche. She is good. Jeff Cirillo would have been better.
  13. That's debatable. If they came to drink and party - I would prefer they stayed in the parking lot instead of sitting behind me. Honestly, I think the "tailgate police" are just hollow threats. I can't imagine the Brewers ever doing anything to really impede tailgating (even those who don't attend the game) at Miller Park. It is just too hard to enforce. Sure you might stop a few rowdy tailgates in the parking lot - but you are also going to upset at least a few quality fans as well. Let's face it, in the Brewers down years - tailgating is what brought people to Miller Park/County Stadium. Should the Brewers ever falter again, they would really miss those tailgaters.
  14. It isn't really the games played that has affected my opinion. I never looked at their schedule before. They are pretty decimated by injuries on the pitching staff right now. (Mulder, Carpenter, Clement and Pineiro) I knew they were suppose to get healthy this season at some point - but I figured they would have buried themselves too deep of a hole to dig back out. But after looking at their cream puff schedule, they have a decent shot at a 19-10 heading out of April. From there they are able to upgrade their offense (Rasmus) with a call-up. And they will be able to upgrade their pitching staff significantly with healthy bodies. I still think the Reds/Cubs/Brewers are the biggest threats to win the NL Central. But I thought the Cardinals were going to be Pittsburgh/Houston bad - now I am wondering.
  15. Right now, the Cardinals are 5-1. They took 2 out of 3 from Colorado and just swept the Nationals. Pujols is always good. And Ankiel is looking very good as well. But here is the kicker, during April- They play 6 games against San Francisco and 6 games against Houston. Mulder is throwing in extended spring and looks to be back in a few weeks. Carpenter is projected back after the break. They also have a young stug (Rasmus) in AAA. If they can keep winning against inferior teams, they could be a real force if Carpenter, Mulder and Rasmus are playing for them from July-September. Let's just say - I am definately "aware" of them.
  16. JS writer - Michael Hunt. Good move to go with Michael instead of Mike.
  17. Turnbow got a pretty good round of applause on opening day when they announced the teams.
  18. I was actually able to do that this year with just my 20-game Sunday Pack. I specifically found the seats I wanted last year. Wrote them down. And as soon as the season ended, I talked to my ticket rep and said "I would like Seat A and Seat B for the Sunday Package next year." He made it happen. Now, I actually think I have the best seats in the entire Terrace Reserve. So next year I think I might need to upgrade to the full season if I want to keep these great seats. But that does seem fair. I've always had fantastic service & luck with the Brewer's Ticket reps. I know last year on my Fan's Choice, I had a game coming up where the seats were not satisfactory. (Behind home place, with the Big Pole obstructing part of LF) I contacted my ticket rep and said that I wasn't happy with my view - since it was partially obstructed - I sent in my tickets and he got me new & better seats.
  19. I am happy to have some games in HD. But I really don't understand the reasoning behind the schedule. I thought broadcasting in HD was just a matter of having the right cameras and equipment? They had yesterday's game in HD, so wouldn't it stand to reason that all of the HD cameras and equipment are currently at Miller Park? Why would yesterday's in in HD - and today's isn't...
  20. Sure, if you don't mind all those players clogging up the base paths!
  21. I must admit, so far Trenni has been pretty good. And I think most studios think they need a good looking female to do her job. But I would have taken Cirillo over Trenni any day of the week.
  22. Good Lord. Huntville's line-up is just killer right now. A lot of AAA teams would love that line-up!
  23. Most teams also skip their #5 starter to keep the "ace" on his regular 5 day schedule as well. The Brewers have already said that they won't do this. Also, most #5 starters are bad. Hence, they are removed from the rotation before they have a chance to hit 170 innings. I understand your point that it might be moot - but failure to plan for the possibility would be unwise.
  24. I definately was thinking that during the game as well. Marmol was getting some very nice called strikes. I missed the beginning of the game, but after watching the strike zone Marmol was getting - I couldn't figure out how Bush walked 5 batters!
  25. Well, kinda... I just heard on FSN that Cirillo is going to be a road reporter for the FSN squad. Glad to see he caught on with the Brewers in some regard.
