  1. Lopez out of the game with hamstring tightness. Rest it up, rub it out and have him ready for tomorrow.
  2. So, I believe Prince wants to know: "who is Delwyn Young?" Keep driving in those runs, Prince.
  3. That moment with Kendall and Karstens alone made staying up this late worth it. That is one of the things which is fun about baseball, when allowed it polices itself. Tomorrow will be a new day and everyone will move on.
  4. Maybe that liner by Kendall is the ball Braun said Karstens would catch in the ribs next time he pitches.
  5. Braun is having an awful July to date. .267/.320/.378 in his last 28 days, which seems awful compared to what we are used to from him.
  6. Well, at least Kendall drove in a run so Gerut couldn't completely kill the rally. This game is far from over. Just need to keep putting up 0's in the bottom half.
  7. I still think of Ned Yost every time I see someone wearing #3. I don't think Lopez will change that.
  8. I was not saying Booooourns. Well, these are the Pirates, so lets turn this game into a 10-9 affair that ends at quarter to midnight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. One reason I like this trade is it helps the bench situation, adding another bat besides Cat who can pinch hit reliably. If Lopez starts on a routine basis which is most likely the expectation, that means either Counsell or McGehee will be available off the bench to hit. Rest for both of those guys as they've been banged up going into August is a good thing. I do wish they'd have given Gamel more of a look and more playing time at 3B to accomplish the same thing, but at least now he has had a decent taste of the bigs, should know how pitchers like to pitch him and will have an opportunity to go down to AAA, play every day, and work on that. He'll be back in a little over a month, anyway. Hopefully this will also end the musical lineups of Kendall batting 1st then 8th then 7th, Hardy batting 2nd then 8th, and all of the randomness that came along with losing Weeks for the year. This isn't something that will put the team over the top, but it hopefully will help more than it hurts.
  10. This is quote of the game so far http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif. That was an awful 0-2 pitch by Yo to Gomes. Nice to get out of that inning tied, though.
  11. I figured with that home run Counsell had to be nearing a career high in home runs. Yet, when I looked it up to my shock, awe, amusement, and horror, he had a year where he hit 9. Hooray, infield singles! Score runs any way you can, boys.
  12. Hopefully Manny comes out and throws strikes like he did last time out. It would be nice to get tonight's game with Yo going tomorrow.
  13. It is big boy time these next few weeks. Prove to Melvin why if the right deal comes along we should be buyers instead of standing pat in the next two weeks.
  14. What will the crowd do now that they can't sing along to Frank Catalanotto's batting music since he isn't in the lineup? (seriously, the past two days every time Cat came up there were entire sections in the 400 level singing his batting music, lol). The crowds the last few nights have been amusing. Hopefully there is a good crowd today as well. Take some pitches, score some runs, and go into the ASB on a good note!
  15. How'd they respond to that top of the 10th?I was there, it was a fun game but so brutal to lose the way they did. In regards to the fans, there was booing, and there was a giant exodus. (Tonight was a much more boo-happy crowd, for what it's worth.) After the Grand Slam people poured out of the stadium. There were probably about 3,000-5,000 people left for the bottom of the 10th.
  16. The Block Party today was alright. When I checked last night after the game (around approximately midnight) I saw Fielder had been removed from the list. My friend and I went for Gamel, we got there about 8am and were 103 and 104 in line. Cameron's line was actually longer than Gamel's at that point. They moved the Gamel line at least 3 times and since people were meandering around some people were getting a bit chippy about people not being in sequential order--but it is hard to be when the guy comes over and tells us we need to move, now. Once the party started they had really loud music going so you really couldn't say anything to the players because they couldn't hear you. At least that is what happened with Gamel. It was disappointing Fielder wasn't there, but the Block Party is still always a pretty good time.
  17. I still can't believe we pitched to Pujols with runners on the corners in a tie game. I know there were no outs, but still. It is truly disappointing that such a great start by Parra had to be wasted. In regards to the shadows, one thing I kind of wish would be done is for our reporters to go in the opposing locker room and ask some of their players how bad the shadows are--to get the opposing team's perspective. Braun et al. talk about how everyone hates playing day games, but other than some random chirping here and there in the past I don't recall any opponents ever having as strong of words about the shadows as our players do. I could be wrong, though.
  18. I started a RTTS as a starting pitcher earlier this week. Just playing a few days makes me realize how much it would kind of suck to be a starting pitcher in real life. I was drafted by the Pirates (ugh) and am toiling in AA right now. I have an ERA of 1.04 and am 6-2. One loss was purely on me, I gave up 3 runs in 6 innings. The other loss I had a one hitter going in a 0-0 game, gave up a hit in the 8th and was pulled and that guy came around to score. I've had it happen a few other times where I'd be cruising, give up a hit, get pulled, and the bullpen would give up my run. Frustrating, I tell you. haha.
  19. I get the feeling tomorrow may be a day of action, after this showing by Mr. Burns.
  20. I too was definitely ready to go all out for 3TO in the final vote.
  21. In all 3 of Burns' ML appearances with us he has given up more FO than GO. Last game was the closest split 7-11, while his previous outings were 3-11 and 2-6. Lets hope the wind is blowing in, lol.
  22. That is a good point, although Marquis will be pitching on Saturday (as will Matt Cain), and Josh Johnson will be pitching on Sunday. You may be right though, as Wainwright will also be pitching on Sunday and is a guy who probably could have gotten in ahead of Marquis.
  23. Lets go boo-urns! Keep the ball down and in the park, and you'll be fine.
