  1. It would be okay to score 12 runs again tonight, Brewers. Yo, a QS would be awesome.
  2. It feels fitting a game in which we score 12 runs is still a relative nail biter. This pitching staff is woeful right now. My co-workers were excited when we jumped out to the huge lead and I still knew it wasn't going to be over. At least we kept tacking runs on, which is something we've had issues with in the past. Now if we win tomorrow, that is what is called a winning streak. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. Well, this is 2006 all over again with the patchwork pitching staff, so it could happen. The fan graph for that game is depressing. LOL
  4. I will always remember the good times for Billy Hall. The walk off home runs. The Reds killing. The track suit and gold nike spikes in the 60-yard dash. You'd have to believe this is the end of the line for Hall in Milwaukee, but I definitely wish him the best. I bet somewhere TGJ is smiling right now knowing our outfield platoon consists of Jody Gerut, Cat, and Jason Bourgeois.
  5. Play out the string, boys. Keep your heads held high and handle your business. You can't control anything anyone else does, but if you don't handle yours, any opportunities afforded you are moot. As hawing would say, go 1-0 for August 11, 2009, Brewers!
  6. The call really just smacks of an umpire getting caught up in the moment with the crowd going crazy. Even if it is unlikely Braun ties the game or puts the Brewers ahead, it is just frustrating to have the bat taken out of his hands on a terrible, terrible call. It isn't like he was giving that call all day, either, so that's not an excuse.
  7. Way to take the bat right out of his hands, ump. Somewhere, Corey Hart cringes remembering the events of Chicago a few years ago when he was called out on a similar bogus strike. Strike three to Cameron was a strike, that one was nowhere close.
  8. Kendall, Gerut, and Lopez. This reminds me of the home opener when the best we could throw out there was Kendall, Duffy, and Weeks in the 9th. That said, we won that game. Maybe we can win this one too. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Weathers has been having a good year helping to set up for Cordero. He will definitely give us a viable 6th, 7th, and even 8th inning option to compliment Coffey and get the ball to Hoffman. Most likely Burns back to AAA, Colome, Vargas, and DiFelice all get pegged with 6th inning duty and when able we go Weathers, Coffey, Hoffman. It could be worse. A lot worse.
  10. I don't think anyone is surprised Brewer Killer Geoff Blum is having quite the game against us so far. Hopefully we can continue to get runners on and finally push a few across against Wandy.
  11. What would be amusing now is if the Brewers tried to bring Swindle back on a minor league deal. Being DFA'ed twice in the span of two days can't exactly be the most pleasant experience.
  12. I really did forget Mike Burns was still on the major league roster. LOL. Yikes.
  13. Chris Smith had to be confused at pitching in a game where we are winning, considering he has been designated mop up guy. Jesus in the 9th?
  14. Those former Pirates absolutely torture us, don't they? Nice catch, though.
  15. Almost Human Rain Delay time. Delay under the dome! Hopefully Manny can at least get Brewer Killer Blum out here.
  16. Ah, the mention of a bbq lefty, haven't heard that in a while. I totally agree in regards to Swindle, though. I was kind of disappointed they mentioned Smith as a candidate to be sent down. While not spectacular or even a guy you may want in a close game, Smith has been fairly effective as the garbage time guy in the bullpen. Swindle hasn't even proven he can throw a clean inning yet (small sample, I know, I know). If they wanted a lefty for garbage time they could have kept Narveson up. Hopefully Colome can come up and give the bullpen a boost in the long-to-middle relief category.
  17. Josie's on a vacation far away, come around and talk it over. So many things that I wanna say, you know I like my girls a little bit older. Ahem, anyway. It is nice to have Yo going tonight after a win last night. It would be great if Yo could go at least 7 strong and get the bullpen more rest. Hopefully Cat and the bats show up tonight. If I am going to be stuck with "Your Love" in my head for the next month, at least do something productive, Frank. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Welcome back, Bill Hall. Please be productive, we need you now more than ever. Good to see Parra with Rivera. It is going to be important for him to throw non-cookie strikes tonight.
  19. Major get well wishes to Corey. Miller Park will have the sound, pitch, and key of a good chorus by the end of the month to "Your Love" with all of the at-bats Cat will probably be getting. I too am wary of how much Hall really could have turned things around in AAA, but I suppose we don't really have many other options at this point. I wish him the best as well.
  20. You heard it here first, Prince Fielder is going to hit a home run to accentuate the nice defense he just showed in order to wind up on SportsCenter.
  21. Well, if this game keeps going like it is with heart-attack inducing double plays and general strenuous innings, I suppose the Human Rain Delay is the correct choice to continue that trend. I hate to look ahead, but do we ask Coffey to go two if we're still in the lead in the 7th?
  22. I'm not sure at this point if it is feasible to ask our bullpen for four scoreless innings, but regardless get Carlos out of there and get him a win! 5 innings of shutout ball with 80 pitches, despite the fact his control is starting to fail him is about the best you can ask for at this point. Thanks for actually listening, Macha. Do they dare pitch Swindle in the 6th? It would be the best situation to use him, and it would save Stetter for later if needed, but do we have faith he can get three outs without giving up a run?
  23. Hardy probably finds some way to goof that up. Great, great stand in by Counsell to turn the double play.
