  1. I think my shaving has caused a dramatic time-energy shift which caused Hoffman to blow the save. I have never been happier to see Greg Aquino, lol. Lets hope Fielder can hit one out.
  2. If only we could trade for Bronson Arroyo. Not could he play guitar and sing, but he would solve our pitching woes, too. That or we could just go sign Bernie Williams. He's gotta be better than Gerut.
  3. Why do we always have terrible games when we're on national TV? This has been a crazy game, pretty fun to watch though as the Brewers have now gotten back into it and have the lead. Lets hope Stetter can get out of this inning and just for the sake of sanity tack more on here in the 9th.
  4. I hope if Kendall gets on base we use Gerut, I'd rather save Gamel for a situation which might actually matter and he may not need to face a LHP.
  5. They say hitting is contagious, lets hope some of the other guys catch up to what McGehee and Hart are doing today.
  6. I'm glad we don't face Brian Anderson very often because if we did his defensive prowess would become old hat quickly.
  7. JJ Hardy would settle for a 45 foot swinging bunt single at this point, considering he has hit 5 or 6 screamers on this homestand that have been caught.
  8. Well, at least someone in this lineup is hot. Keep it up, McGehee!
  9. I thought this might belong here, but I was listening to the post-game audio from today's game and Ryan Braun had some extremely strong comments regarding playing day games at Miller Park. Braun mentioned players hate playing day games at Miller Park and mentioned how the panels aren't tinted. Maybe he or someone else on the team has been snooping in this thread, lol.
  10. I wish Parra the best in turning this around, but frankly this is a move that has to be made. Parra was struggling too much to even keep the team in a position to win at this point.
  11. Well, this is about as good of a game as any to see what Cat can do at 2B. I do agree this is the exact kind of game getting Gamel more live playing time at 3B would be useful, but I'm guessing they are probably trying to refresh Counsell at 3B.
  12. It is too bad the bullpen has to fall on another sword here. They've had to eat a ton of innings lately. I'd guess we'll probably see Hoffman today for an inning since he hasn't pitched in a while. I definitely can understand not wanting to sacrifice Manny and any confidence he has left by leaving him out there to pitch 4 innings and give up 12 runs, but all of this work is going to catch up to the bullpen at some point.
  13. It has been interesting to see how Eric Karros has basically been calling out Parra this entire game on not having the mental toughness to pitch well on a consistent basis. This is a pretty brutal outing thus far for Parra.
  14. At the Mariners game I went to (6/2), Branyan hit a ridiculously long foul ball which hit the facade of the Hit it Here Cafe in right field. The radio announcer was like "that is one of the longest hit balls I have seen hit here ever, fair or foul." Fans in Seattle still are kind of meh about Branyan, apparently they are unaware of how much of a cult legend he is. When I clapped loudly for him I'm sure people looked at me like I was crazy. Then he hit for the trifecta of 3TO.
  15. I can tolerate the retro uniform a lot more when we only see it once a month as opposed to every Friday or Sunday home game. Hopefully someone can get hot in this series and get the offense rolling again.
  16. Did anyone else notice they blurred the WBC logo in the end of the video but not at the beginning? That's pretty amusing.
  17. Please don't get owned by JDLR, Brewers. I am back from a week of vacation in which I was Brewersless (other than scores and game wraps, of course), so it would be nice to see a W!
  18. Truer words have never been said, hawing. My friend just got a new camera so I asked her to take a couple Branyan pics. There are more but I won't get to those until I get home. http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs082.snc1/4561_1179451328818_1304203699_30474815_3780803_n.jpghttp://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs082.snc1/4561_1179451288817_1304203699_30474814_1873104_n.jpg
  19. I am out in Seattle for a vacation and tonight my friends and I decided to go to a Mariners game. In said Mariners game, Russell Branyan completed the trifecta of 3TO. He singled, popped out to third, struck out, walked, and hit a two-run HR. I was proud of Russell.
  20. Yo coming off of the mound and going into the dugout after throwing his warmup pitches scared a lot of people in the stands. When I saw him come back with the long sleeves I had assumed the umpires made him put them on because of that patch on his elbow. Crisis averted. Good game today, it is always nice to get a sweep!
  21. I know last year by around 8:30-9:00 there were usually already 100 people in line for the Uecker seats on bobblehead days. My friend and I would get there around 7am and were probably 20-25th in line. I'm not sure how the lines have been this year, though.
  22. Obviously Macha's opinion can change, I am just going off of the things that have been said that we have access to so far. A couple of the reasons I made that statement are as follows: 1) From the article about Gamel being called up, "He may get a start -- we'll see," said Brewers manager Ken Macha, who paused when asked if he felt comfortable with playing Gamel at third base. "He's had some errors down there, [eight] errors. I thought in Spring Training he wasn't really terrible out there." 2) From TH's blog about lineups on May 26 "Bill Hall is back at third base, in large part because Jeff Suppan is pitching and a lot of balls get put in play, and Hall is more accomplished than rookie Mat Gamel defensively." (these may be TH's words, not Macha, but still interesting) I also thought there was something about Gamel after spring training let out with them saying his defense wasn't completely ready yet, but I could be wrong. Those statements from Macha at least say to me that he isn't really brimming with confidence about playing Gamel in the field, which is why I said it would be interesting to see how things work out. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. Gamel's average really doesn't tell the tale of how hard or well he has been hitting the ball. He has been doing the little things people like to see such as running out ground balls, going in hard to break up double plays, trying to get to every ball he can, etc. I do like what I've seen from him so far and am probably not as afraid of his defense as Macha and company seem to be. I think if given a fair enough chance with Weeks out and Hall struggling Gamel may be able to provide some good offensive numbers with just good enough defense to not hurt the team. In some ways I wonder how Macha sees Gamel versus how Melvin sees Gamel because Melvin made it clear that at this point we're not trading for someone to replace Weeks so Gamel is most likely a part of that solution, yet Macha has made it clear by his actions he doesn't trust Gamel's defense, so we'll see how that plays out.
  24. Zambrano ejecting the umpire was hilarious. I'm sure he will get a fine and possibly a suspension, but considering some of Z's previous outbursts that was pretty controlled.
  25. I still use "homey don't play dat" every so often. Definitely one of my favorites.
