  1. Lilly is the lone Cubs representative. Marquis making it in over Gallardo is the real joke, especially considering Hawpe could be Colorado's representative. Other than Marquis, the only other arguments would be Santana and Billingsley, who both do have a case to be there. Hoffman not making it isn't as big of a surprise considering they only took 4 relievers and all 4 have been very good.
  2. Fielder makes it in as a manager's pick, at least.
  3. No Yo or Hoffman. Some of the pitchers will be their team's lone representatives, I guess.
  4. Congrats to Braun on his second straight start. I am hoping Fielder, Yo, and possibly Hoffman join him in St. Louis.
  5. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/fail-3.jpg Did something happen to Trevor Hoffman that I don't know about? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif Nice job, ESPN. lol
  6. Looper did a nice job of getting through 6 today considering how ugly his pitch count was early. Hopefully 3 innings of Villa and probably Coffey can close this one out.
  7. Great job standing in there by Counsell to turn the double play, that is how it is supposed to be done.
  8. There has been some awful, awful defense in this game so far. Hopefully Looper can continue the trend of picking up his teammates.
  9. This game is far from over. Looper's pitch count is pretty ugly and the first guy out of the pen will probably by Narveson, so I wouldn't mind if we can tack on more runs.
  10. Soriano is so awful in left field it is amazing. Harden done after 2+, wow.
  11. Gotta feel good about clearing the pitcher in the first inning. It is definitely important to get a guy like Harden early. A clean bottom half would go a long way as well.
  12. The wind is blowing out today. Lets hope Looper can keep the ball down better than Harden has so far.
  13. The only reason they probably would keep Gamel around is because other than Hall he is really the only guy on the bench with any semblance of power. I am sure they wish at this point they hadn't given up on Nelson so quickly considering the lackluster play (granted in limited AB's) by Gerut, and the fact Counsell and McGehee are forced into every day starting roles due to the struggles of Hall and injury to Weeks. I'm guessing if they do send Gamel down it will be because we traded for an infielder or bench bat to take his spot.
  14. 1 vs NYM (1-0) 4 @ CHC (1-3) 3 vs STL (2-1) 3 vs LAD (1-2) 4 @ CIN (2-2) 3 @ PIT (2-1) 3 vs ATL (2-1) 4 vs WSH (3-1) 1 @ SD (1-0) 15-11 Fielder 10 HR, Braun 6 HR, Hoffman 7 SV: tiebreaker is 23
  15. Nice to see Billy Hall get a hit! Keep the runs coming, boys. Can we be like the Rangers and play 90% night games at home?
  16. Well, you still shouldn't have dropped that pop up, Casey. I'll look the other way this time, though.
  17. Riding an 0'fer on the month is brutal, Hawing. This was my first loss on the year, but I don't make it to nearly as many games as you do. One other thing I found amusing was during the sausage race the PA announcer made a point to say "the sausages are coming past the Giants dugout, watch out for opposing catchers!" ... that and when the full sized Chorizo plowed over the mini-Chorizo.
  18. This was a fairly disappointing game to be at considering the outcome. I was fairly amused by Pablo Sandoval's pre-at-bat routine, though. They pointed it out on Baseball Tonight last night so I watched for it today. Before he got to the home plate area he drew either a cross or an X in the dirt, walked across it, came in the batters box, stepped directly out in front of the batters box, knocked the dirt out of his cleats twice for each foot, then back in the batters box, then out to the side of the box to adjust his gloves, then he was ready. You can add that to the list of guys with somewhat excessive pre-at-bat routines, lol. The other thing I noticed is Braun was sporting some Michael Jackson as his batting music.
  19. Yikes, lets reign this in. Keep the score at 2-0, or at maximum try to only give up one more here.
  20. You'd think opposing catchers would get the word there is a sausage race in the 6th inning. I find it funny how the sausages had to avoid the somewhat immobile Molina, while when it happened to Jason LaRue earlier this year he was the one doing all the ducking and dodging. Maybe opposing catchers just find it kind of fun, like real-life version of Frogger.
  21. I like the Meeks pick a lot. He can really only do one thing well and that's score, but with some time and development he could be a quality player. He can shoot the 3 a bit, too. I saw him absolutely torch Tennessee for 54 points last year, and he had a couple other games where he basically took over and controlled the game for Kentucky.
  22. I want Jennings to bring back the '90s Fresh Prince of Bel Air hair. That aside, with what was left at 10 he seemed to be the best fit. I've seen a couple videos and he seemed more willing/able to pass the ball than Jrue Holliday (who basically in the highlight videos only drove to the hoop and tried to dunk over people 7 inches taller then him, but I digress), and playing overseas while it isn't the same caliber of talent he is playing with bigger and stronger guys than in college, so that may help ease the transition some. The Bucks really need to start from the bottom up and taking a young PG is a good first step.
  23. Wood gives up 2 in the 13th for another Cubs extra inning victory. Yay. The Cubs are starting to get that comeback mojo going again.
  24. Knock on wood but Stetter has been so good he really hasn't made me miss Shouse at all. He seems to really have embraced the lefty specialist role and even expanded it to be able to get out capable righty bats in a pinch.
  25. Ah. Now we know how the opposing team's fans felt when we let Greg Aquino pitch a couple years ago, lol.
