  1. I would definitely miss JP if he left. I've very much enjoyed his PBP abilities, even more than Uecker. I always have hoped when Uecker decided to retire Powell would become the full time PBP guy. I really couldn't blame him for taking this opportunity if it is officially offered to him, though.
  2. I'm proud of this team. They did something no Milwaukee Brewers team in 26 years could do. This season was full of peaks and valleys, frustration and excitement, and countless memorable moments. I'd like to thank everyone who made those moments possible, from Mark A. all the way down. We've got a lot to be proud of, and a lot to improve on. Does losing hurt? Of course it does, but I won't be bitter. I'll wear my wild card hat proudly (when I get it, lol), knowing that even though I'll come home tomorrow and there will be no Brewers game to entertain me after a long day at work, February is right around the corner and we'll all be 0-0 again reaching for that brass ring.
  3. Powell in a rather stoic tone as the cascade of boos rain down: "I think they're saying "sooooup", I'm not sure." ... I thought it was kind of funny. I'm at work so I can't watch, but were the pitches just meatballs or were they good pitches that just got hit out?
  4. Lets go, Soup! Give us a good show and get the ball back in CC's hands.
  5. There you go, Corey. Craig, bust this bad boy wide open!
  6. Even when he gets a hit, Corey Hart can't do anything right at this point. It has gone from sad to almost comical.
  7. All I have to say about that is Dave Bush better get those calls.
  8. It is awesome how loud the crowd is. Hopefully they can keep it up!
  9. Lineups: Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins RF Jayson Werth 2B Chase Utley 1B Ryan Howard LF Pat Burrell CF Shane Victorino 3B Pedro Feliz C Carlos Ruiz LHP Jamie Moyer Brewers CF Mike Cameron 3B Bill Hall LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder SS J.J. Hardy RF Corey Hart 2B Rickie Weeks C Jason Kendall RHP Dave Bush So, what are the odds that if Corey Hart strikes out/hits into a double play in a big situation today he gets booed? I say at least 75%. Lets just hope it doesn't come to that.
  10. Keep us in the game, Dave. I believe in you.
  11. Thanks for the heads up on the locker room cap and for the discount code, it pretty much zeros out the shipping and makes it what it would be plus tax in the store! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I haven't seen much playoff gear around, a lot of it must have sold out. EDIT: It says the item is backordered, but will be shipped when in stock. It did credit to my account as pending though, which I suppose is promising, lol.
  12. Lets go CC! I will feel good coming home if we can win this one.
  13. We couldn't have done it without Todd Coffey. Coffey pitched in some big games down the stretch and was nothing short of flawless. Hopefully he can show some good stuff for us next year in middle relief.
  14. Lids and Fan Fair at the Grand Avenue both got their shipments early and are sold out. They both said they have tried to order more but were told not to expect anything. This sucks. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  15. The guy at Lids told me they should have hats Wednesday, so I'd say check the Lids stores there.
  16. I'm going to try and steer away from the obvious (Braun, Fielder, firing Yost, CC, McClung, etc.). Here are 5 for you: We couldn't have done it without Lou Pinella pitching Wuertz and Howry late in game 162. We couldn't have done it without Salomon Torres, he held our bullpen together when it was collapsing right in front of our very eyes. We couldn't have done it without Mike Rivera, any other catcher who played as little as Rivera would have put up Chad Moelleresque numbers. Rivera really contributed when he got the chance. We couldn't have done it without Jim Skaalen. Our hitters went through so many poor stretches this year, but Skee never gave up on the guys and never tried to make radical changes to mess things up even more. We couldn't have done it without Carlos Villanueva. We've really bounced Carlos around, but he has done whatever he has been asked and excelled for us in the bullpen.
  17. I do feel bad for Ned, but as has been said I feel his firing was instrumental in our getting to the playoffs. There is no way Ned plays Durham as much as Svuem has, there is no way he keeps McClung in on Friday, and I sincerely doubt he'd have pitched CC on 3 days rest 3 straight times down the stretch.
  18. Part of me still doesn't believe it, even after watching the post-game celebration. This is awesome. All of the pain, despair, and disappointment this season has brought was erased today in a succession of moments that were almost too fateful to be true.
  19. I said jokingly a few days ago in the Non-Brewers IGT the Marlins would beat the Mets with their secret weapon, Wes Helms. Thanks for doing your part, Wes.
  20. Matt LaPorta will be a great player, but CC Sabathia has been worth every prospect and every penny, period.

  22. Thank you Florida! Wes Helms, I will never call you Krispy Kreme again!
  23. Listening to this on the radio is awesome, hearing the crowd at MP rise with every out recorded.
