  1. The best part? Your ex-girlfriend works with you, sits in the cubicle across from you, and every time you look over you see her making out with her new boyfriend, who just happens to be the guy in the office you dislike the most. That's kind of what it is like having the Cubs throw a no hitter on our field, have the potential to celebrate winning the division today, and for the Mets and Phillies to be ahead of us. All three teams we had the opportunity to beat in September. It's like our failure is just being flaunted right in our face. Did that bring enough negative vibes? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif In any case, lets get this thing done CC. Give us hope for another day.
  2. Isn't that what we do in every IGT anyway? I'm not sure how many more gut wrenching losses I can take, so it would be really nice to win today guys.

  4. Despite the fact I was overcome with anger at the outcome of the game yesterday, while today's game drove me to depths of disappointment rarely seen, I am still hanging in there. I suppose the day this team actually makes the playoffs, suffering through years like last year and this September to date will be worth it, right?
  5. I was also a fail. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

  7. I realized long ago that no matter how badly the Brewers do, no matter how many times I turn off the radio at work or my TV at home in anger, I end up turning it back on not even a minute later. Maybe I am a glutton for punishment, but I figure baseball will be gone for 5 months and I will miss it, so the costs and benefits of riding out the string say I should ride it out, as rough as that may be.
  8. All of the following words are accurate to describe today's loss: Brutal. Horrific. Chokealicious. Disappointing. Awful. Frustrating. Potentially fatal. It is tough to give away games when you're chasing and need help already. Granted, this game probably makes up for last night where the Cubs had every chance to win and fell flat on their face, but still. It's a sprint to the finish and so far we've dropped the baton and now we just kicked it forward in our attempt to pick it up. Hopefully the Mets will stumble and we'll run a clean race from here.
  9. Do thine eyes deceive me? We've gotten the Webbs Burger run for the first time in about 2 weeks, lol.
  10. Coffey has looked good so far. He won't be a bad guy to have next year if they decide to keep him.
  11. This is the sound which reigns through pretty much anything we've touched lately.
  12. Well, we haven't used up our nightly solo home run so if we can hold the Cubs under 5 we should be good, lol. Get this deal done, Ben.
  13. That my friends was a non HR hit with runners in scoring position. I'd almost forgotten what that looked like.
  14. Is it excessively greedy to ask for a grand slam here?
  15. Lets handle some business tonight. It would be great to get on the board early and let Ben pitch with the lead.
  16. Sad to see you have to take a break, man. I always enjoy your insights. I definitely know that between all of life's regular stressors life can be stressful enough, but when you add in the stress and frustration from something that is supposed to be recreational and fun things can tend to boil over. I know during our collapse last year I took my share of long walks and just tried to put it out of my mind every time I got extremely angry after a loss. The way I've rationalized the rest of the season is this: the pain is already over with. We've blown our entire lead. We are no longer entitled to anything. If we win the wild card, great. I will root for the Brewers every step of the way, but if they don't, while I will be disappointed I'm not going to let myself lose sleep over it or get overly upset. It just isn't worth it. In any case, hope to see you back soon man.
  17. Because Braun is the last guy I want at the plate right now in this situation, he's going to jack one out to shut me up.
  18. I'd like to see Lamb, Gamel/Nelson, Cameron, but we'll probably end up seeing Kendall/Gwynn Jr., Gwynn Jr./Lamb, Cameron. We've gotten to Wood before though, so there is still hope!
  19. Henry Blanco? Really. Man, September is just not our month.
  20. Thankfully the Cubs bench is stacked with lefties so the only RH pinch hit options are Henry Blanco, Koyie Hill (S), and Casey McGehee.
  21. Kendall is going to hit next inning, we all know it. The sooner we accept it the less frustrating it will be, lol. Glad to see Villanueva here.
  22. Oh naughty fist pumps. Don't wake the sleeping giant, Carlos.
  23. Get hot big baby! Keep it rollin'.
  24. Those things tend to happen to us in Chicago. I feel it necessary to bust out my new avatar showcasing another case of strike zone fail. Lets just hope that Counsell-Kendall-PH isn't the lineup we have facing Wood in the 9th.
