  1. Watching Suppan is like watching Claudio Vargas. Nibble, nibble, nibble, meatball, nibble, nibble, meatball, meatball, nibble.
  2. The Dikembe bobble-finger is awesome. I would totally go for the Sveum bobble-arm. I never noticed Sedar's actions at first, but maybe I'll pay attention tonight and check it out.
  3. We got swept and our wildcard number still decreased by 2. Can't complain too much about that.
  4. It was interesting listening to Gabe Kapler this morning on Bob & Brian here in Milwaukee. Gabe was saying the mood in the locker room was really down after the team had lost the first two games to the Mets and he wondered whether he should say anything to get guys heads back up, but decided to wait it out a few more days. It makes me wonder a bit of the guys are starting to press a little, knowing the goal is now in sight.
  5. Thanks for the phone suggestions. I ended up staying with AT&T which was the only company I found who didn't charge the $30 blackberry data plan fee, so I got the Curve 8310. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. I was definitely glad to see Blum hit one out against the Cubs. I love how the Cubs announcers went over Blum's innate clutch ability to hit game-deciding HR's.
  7. That was close. Nice job, Brad!
  8. You know, I am amazed at the free pass Riske is getting in all this. His failure to throw strikes forced Ned's hand to use an extra reliever, our second lefty no less, and that hampered our ability to play matchups late in the game. Had Riske not failed, it is possible Gagné faces Murphy and Wright, with Stetter coming on for Delgado and either staying on for Beltran and Church, or turning the game over to Torres. Because Riske failed, the 8th was Gagné's inning to lose in Ned's mind. Just a thought.
  9. Phillies lose. Cardinals lose. Cubs lose. Our WC magic number improves by one. As disappointing as today was as a fan, the final outcomes could have been a lot worse.
  10. Jose Valverde thought that was a HR off the bat. It sounded good, too. Thankfully, WTP for D-Lee and the Cubbies take an L. We won't lose any ground to the Phillies or the Cubs.

  12. Phillies lose so they won't gain ground on us today. Worst case scenario is being up 5.5 on the Phillies and Cardinals at days end.
  13. Chalk up another loss to the save rule. The more baseball I watch the more ridiculous it becomes that the best relief pitcher can't pitch with the opponent's best players at bat because it isn't the 9th inning.
  14. Well, get some help today from the Astros, Nationals, and D-Backs and all will be ok. We need to shore up the bullpen somehow, that's the one glaring need we didn't address via trade.
  15. Good to see Durham get an AB, shows his injury isn't too bad.
  16. As we head into the home stretch, I may have to revive the bullpen advisory system which seemed to be a hit last year. Keep this deficit at 2, G-Mo.
  17. By a show of hands, has Mota earned back the right to pitch in the 6th/7th inning when needed, or do most people still not trust him?
  18. Lets guess how the ninth will go: Counsell weak GB to second, Kendall weak FB to right, Nelson K.
  19. That was a pathetic inning, although we've pretty much had 8 pathetic innings to this point at the plate. Gotta give some props to Santana and the Mets bullpen, though.
  20. There is really something to that, considering we've been burned by this situation twice in the past week. Meat of the opponents order coming up late in the game and we trot out our 3rd or 4th best option out of the bullpen.
  21. Well, that sucks. Just didn't get the pitch where it needed to be. Gotta hold the lead to 1 now.
  22. Gwynn makes sense here. Noodle a single, Tony!
  23. Considering how that started, I'll take giving up one. Please let Good Gagne show up today. It would be great if we could tack on a run or two with a PH and the top of the order up.
  24. Wait, Ned just pulled Riske? Are we actually playing for keeps here?
  25. Please get someone up in the bullpen. I'd take DiFelice at this point.
