  1. I've grown to enjoy Dolph. His match with Morrison last night was a good match. I will never understand why they haven't done more with Morrison, but eh. I could see them pushing someone like Sheamus for the rumble too. Punk cutting on Del Rio's promo skills was hilarious. I always used to fast forward through Del Rio because I didn't care and he always said the exact same thing. Last night was kind of squash-tastic with Swagger-Santino, Ryan-JTG, and Del Rio-Kingston all being basic squashes. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nash stick his nose in Punk's business (again), just to keep that angle warm until HHH gets back. Punk wins the title at SS and they then really push Punk as Austin 2.0 where it's basically the entire heel faction of the company vs. him up to Wrestlemania. They've done a good job getting a decent heel contingent in place to snipe at Punk (Del Rio, Swagger, Ziggler, Rhodes, Christian, Miz, Truth, Barrett, Nash, etc.), but there aren't nearly as many credible faces to help other than HHH and Cena. They're pushing Ryder to the moon and while his gimmick is awful at least he's decent in-ring. Santino is ... Santino. They've buried Morrison as he's on the way out. Kofi and Bourne are relegated to tag team anonymity. They'll probably just bring Show and Sheamus over more often. Or book Mason Ryan as the next Batista. Sigh. At that rate I'd rather have more Ryder. lol
  2. Pujols totally Tebowed. We will see you April 6, 2012, champs. Bring it. It's on.
  3. At least they didn't cut you in half, which they did to me. lol
  4. I laughed so hard at Mr. Golden Hands I cried. That's awesome. The "Hello, I'm a bear." thing is pretty funny, too.
  5. I'm starting to wonder which aging veteran outfielder we will sign as has been the trend the past few years (Kotsay, Edmonds, Cat, Kapler, etc.). He probably will have played CF but not be able to anymore (yet they'll put him there anyway), preferably left handed, 30+. And go.
  6. It was a great season filled with great moments. It didn't end how we'd hoped, but I'll forever remember Fielder's walk-off shot on May 20th (and Yuni's bomb which made it possible), Tony Tombstone and the cowboy photo, Kotsay's walk-off and tying hits vs. Cordero, the division clinching game, Morgan's walk-off hit in the NLDS, and so many more moments. Plushdamentals will still run wild, and talk of Marcomania will bring chuckles over beer in three years. Before I know it, I'll be counting down to April 6, 2012. I already have the day off of work.
  7. Well, Shaun, this is why we traded one of our top prospects for you. I'm sure you know that, but it bears repeating. Dear offense, please show up. None of this first pitch swinging, pop out enducing, general flailing that has frustrated the fanbase so at times this year. Dear defense, please show up. None of this booting balls business and failed attempts to catch balls in the outfield (I'm looking at you, Corey). Show us why you're the best home team in MLB by far this year. This is what you fought for, now defend it.
  8. Yeah, it won't be coming out again until 2012. In the laundry room it will hang until the season is over. Then, I can bring it back upstairs and it can rejoin the rest of the collection. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif
  9. I'll be getting it done in 410 with my road Gallardo jersey, which is 4-0 in the playoffs and 6-1 on the year. I tried a reverse jinx with my lucky polo for Marcum's last start, but it didn't work out. Polo had a 10-game winning streak a Marcum start snapped in August, and a Marcum start was the last loss before the streak started. I've only seen four losses in the polo this year, three were Marcum starts. Staying far, far away from the polo tomorrow.
  10. I'll go with Ted Simmons as my official pick and Ben Sheets as my random wildcard pick.
  11. Wolfottaras, I believe! Greinke, Marcum/wholestaff, Gallardo vs. Garcia, Jackson, Carpenter. I like our odds. Gotta get it done, but getting this win was huge.
  12. A little mojo, inspired by hawing: http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o254/gjenkins05/wot.jpg
  13. The players play the game, the manager puts the players in the best position to be successful. Putting Kotsay in CF doesn't set him up for success with his skill set. Putting McGehee in as a pinch hitter against a like-handed pitcher who throws high 90's doesn't put him in a position for success. The players didn't make Carpenter pay for not having anything tonight. He gritted through 5 innings, showing how good of a pitcher he is, but he could have been had. Team loss.
  14. Carpenter had nothing today. Nice to get into the Cardinals bullpen, but it is too bad we couldn't come through with a few more timely hits vs. Carpenter. Nice to see Yo putting up zeros. Just gotta get one and it is a brand new ballgame. I trust our bullpen much more than I trust theirs.
  15. That's almost worse than Kotsay. We know Kotsay is slow and playing out of position, Hart has no excuse.
  16. I'm not surprised in the least at Kotsay in CF. RR is trying to get Kotsay jump-started since he has been short on at-bats recently. He's done it all year because he believes we need Kotsay to be successful. Not saying it's right, but RR has been pretty transparent in his thinking about Kotsay. I used the day off to clear the negative mojo from the circus that was Monday's game and am ready to root, root, root for the Brewers. It will be an uphill battle, but we're back to essentially a 5 game series. Get it done.
  17. The rally towels prevented his fielders from seeing the baseball cleanly. There will be an official protest filed and denied.
  18. About to head out to the park. Should be a beautiful day for playoff baseball. Get it done, Brewers.
  19. The Cardinals have an affinity for other teams old and/or bad players. They also have an affinity for playing them. I like that, provided they don't go all Rafael Furcal on us. More Patterson, less Furcal, please.
  20. Dear Yuni, You have become a man of mystery. How can you have such an off balance swing and still hit the ball? How can you put together 9 awful at bats, then work a 9 pitch double out of nowhere? Why the red bat? Why does no one know your walkup music? In any case, thanks for Friday night. Also, May 20th. Sincerely, thablingster
  21. Holy 45 page thread batman! The game was absolutely electric. A few random tidbits/thoughts from being at the game. -The ushers actually were asking people to sit down early in the game. I calmly explained that the 5 rows of other people standing and waving rally towels in front of me prohibited me from seeing, thus I was standing up. The usher seemed fairly indifferent to having to ask people to sit down and said that he only was required to do it once. I told him at that point: "I will make my best efforts to sit down, but as soon as this guy in front of me stands up and waves his rally towel so I can't see, I will be standing up." Point was taken, no harm done. -Ian Kennedy had an insane ball to strike ratio for a while there. -The mystery of Yuniesky Betancourt continues. Good to see him contribute, though. -In my mind I called the blown save because last night during the Tigers game it was pointed out there had not been any blown saves in the first round of the playoffs. -Is there something wrong with Hawkins? Between leaving Yo out to pasture in the 6th inning, using Saito in the 7th, and considering using Greinke in the 11th, it makes me think something might be wrong with Hawk. Just a hunch, though. -Carlos Gomez's speed is invaluable. I knew if Morgan got any type of base hit Carlos would score. Having home field advantage is awesome. Being able to eliminate the Cardinals would be even more awesome. Just a great, great night!

  23. The more I think about it, there is nobody on our roster I'd rather have starting than Yo. Not much seems to phase him. Braun and Prince live for moments like these. While I could be worried that Plush and Rickie aren't hitting, or that Yuni's being Yuni, it's time to focus on the job JHJ has done and have faith someone unheralded will come up big. It crossed my mind this may be Counsell time. I'm going to go Al Davis here and say "Just win, baby." http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/270342_10100187644386208_26701584_47660425_4639792_n.jpg
