  1. I still love the site and everyone, but let's save the haiku for when we are not contending for a division. Please.
  2. Thanks. I guess I will expect him back about September 15th for 3 starts. Hopefully, we are still in it then.
  3. I have not heard a peep for a week about his progress. This probably does not bode well. I just hate the MLB injury reports. They seem to be so inaccurate. At first, Yost says it was the best injury that Sheets could have and said he would miss a start. Then they said 1 to 2 weeks. Then they tell us two to 4 weeks. And then the next report was the current 4 to 6 weeks. It has been three weeks+ since the injury and I have not heard anything except Sheets not feeling well two Sundays ago. I was hoping he would be ready for the big Cubs series on August 28-30. I bet we are looking more at about September 10th. I would not be surprised if Soriano beat him back. Does anyone have anymore accurate news? (added tag --1992) (updated thread title --1992)
  4. vargas is so garbage. he was living in smoking mirrors all season and now his crappiness is for all to gawk at. We have no pen tonight so this game is over.
  5. I have some really great memories there at MCS that I will always cherish. I loved that special "smell" there too. I also enjoyed how the mezzanines used to shake when a big things happened there. (Except now I realize we maybe could have had a major structural issue with a disaster at our feet.) I used to not be able to sleep at night as a child before my pops brought me to the game. That being said, MCS was a toilet. Everything was old and needed to be made new. Heck, Major League was a movie making fun of an old, crappy stadium in Cleveland for god sake. Let's enjoy the memories...but let's not be too nostalgic here. Miller Park is far better than MCS as a total entertainment experience.
  6. Quite frankly, Steve Phillips has been better than Shroeder today and he is not even our local guy. Schroeder is a stubborn buffoon that gets to stay on because the fans developed a love for him during the tough times.
  7. I do agree with Phillips that Parra should be in rotation-over Vargas.
  8. Thanks Hawing. I officially lost it after Turnbow blew another on Sunday. TBow is the ultimate "tease."
  9. A lot of you know I get pretty down on the Crew sometimes. However, I think they may add a run before this one is over!
  10. I think I'll take the ESPN team. Schroeder really does not do a good job and quite frankly is subpar. I know there are worse but he may have the most boring voice I ever heard. Also, he screws things up. How about getting on the wrong ump last night before he discovered his mistake in the 9th inning. Bad job Bill!
  11. It also could be for Linebrink if he got approved for bereavement for the complications that his wife had with his child.
  12. I hope this is not for Prince, but I can't imagine it being a pitcher at this moment. I have a bad feeling about this one. I hope it is rickie even though I love him...he needs the work. However, I think it is a Prince issue because I believe they would have done it before the game.

  14. I cannot find the game on Direct TV. Is it not on? That would really suck.
  15. Wow, I can't believe there is so much love for Inman on here. I am one that thought this was awful initially myself and wondered deeply about it. I have since calmed down. I realize that there is a little risk in Inman becoming a solid player. I believe he just may someday. Maybe a Jeff Suppan type (Innings eater that looks really bad sometimes, but is pretty consistent.) However, that is probably really the best case scenario for Will. I laugh when I hear people comparing him to Oswalt even though his fastball is 7 MPH less than Oswalts was and Roy had that wicked difference in pitch speeds to keep people off balance. Mr. Inman does not have that talent. Then you hear about John Smoltz (actually Detroit made the playoffs with a hot Doyle Alezander that year) or Jeff Bagwell or Joe Carter. At the same time, most minor league "prospects" in these deals don't amount to much. I'm still waiting for Marc Newfield and rickie Bones to lead us to the promised land for Sheff. How's Jose Capellan doing? How about those bums Hendry gave to Pittsburgh for Aramis Ramirez? How about Heep Sop Choi for Derrick Lee? If I really dove into this-i could prove beyond a reasonable doubt that - at worst- this will be a minor loss for the Brewers that could turn into a major win. Stay tuned!
  16. Guys, Do you see any glimmer of hope that this team will play better than .500 the rest of the way? Remember, they are now 3 games under .500 since the 25-11 start. I think they will be..I really don't think they can play any worse.
  17. I wish that I would be wrong on every front. Not so.
  18. I was right about Prince going to second. I was right to think to bat Hardy for Pitcher. I was right about the DP for Jenkins. I was right about Wise at least allowing one run.
  19. That was the first time that we were going to comeback all year in the 8th and I felt like the Crew was going to win. Mistakes abound... 1. Prince does not take second on hit. (this changed framework of inning.) 2. I liked Hardy batting there instead of Braun. I posted as such. Save Braun for the 9th. 3. Sending Fielder when you know Jenkins will either strike out or walk. Then having Mench get gunned by a mile. 4. Now Wise is rattled and will at least allow a run here. 5.Result-GAME OVER
  20. It does not get any worse than that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was right about the Double play. Why does Yost continually run that stupid play? Especially down two in the 8th. Unacceptable.
  21. Prince should be on second though. Hopefully, this won't hurt us. Way to stay on the pitch Prince!
  22. This would be the surprise of the year if the crew came back from this one. I hate this teams ability to take walks late too.
