  1. This looks like a loss on paper; no doubt. However, if we can keep it close, we have a dynamite bench!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. I am happy that Yost may be figuring out the pen a little bit (Turnbow, anyway). Good win and kodos to Gallardo, braun, Prince, and Yost.
  3. Let's pat Yost on the back for that smart pitching move! Let's get some insurance and win this darn game!
  4. Impressive. He takes him out. Let's not make Yosty the scapegoat today if we lose, ok?
  5. That's it. Yost needs to pull him. Bad TBow tonight again.
  6. Guys, there is still none out. TBow cannot be relied on. How many games can a guy totally blow in a season as a setup man? I will be impressed if he keeps his composure.
  7. I got a bad feelin about this one. Why don't they ever tack on runs...especially against a piss-poor bullpen.
  8. He was known as a crybaby on both the Phillies and Diamondbacks and he was traded. I never heard about that when he was on the Braves. But the Braves, for the most part (except for Chipper and Smoltz), keep things in the clubhouse.
  9. This is a cover-up by Yost-plain and simple. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing. i believe Yost and his teammates possibly really let Johnny have it last night but they kept it behind closed doors. I don't fault Yost for doing this at all. Why alienate Estrada when you need him the last two months. We already know he is a crybaby. Why make the situation worse than it needs to be?
  10. One positive out of this game is that I believe Mark A saw it and is just as mad as us and he will do ANYTHING necessary to improve this team over the next week.
  11. For those who said he went by the book, even though it is in hindsight. Would you have felt better about this is you used your best options first and possibly gave yourself the best chance to win? I know Yost was probably thinking about going to Cordero, but he figured that the Reds were sending up crap that inning-which they were-but a new reliever who had failed in two previous appearances...I think not. Spurling would have been even a more logical choice if Yost was going in that direction because even though he is bad, he has at least done a couple of good things.
  12. Automator- In pennant races when you are on the road, you place the pitcher in that gives you the best chance to win. After you go through those guys, you cross your fingers and pray. Pinella definitely would have went for the win and pitched his best guys first and only when he would have to would he go to Scott Eyre. I have already seen it this year.
  13. God, I feel like taking one of my three strikes right now. This is not ONLY one game either. We are in a pennant chase on July 23rd and we have only given away games all year and have not taken more than one or two all year.
  14. Balfour fastballs are straight and he throws a lame slider that has to be perfect to be successful.
  15. Balfour promptly walks the first guy he sees. This guy sucks. Replace him and Spurling as soon as you can.
  16. And to expand on my previous post... After each of those games-someone would say "it's only one game." That excuse is over now. We have blown enough games for that now to be said.
  17. I think this will be known as the "Johhny estrada" game. We already have the "derrick turnbow" game. (Philly) The "Aramis Ramirez" game. The "Arlington Park Jinx" game. -Blew 3-0 lead in 9th with two outs. The "JJ Hardy" game.-Should have had 4 errors against Cubs. And the 10 "Ned Yost screws the Bullpen up" games. If we won half of these, we would be up ten in the division.
  18. How many, many, many, many, many, many, many times has it been mentioned not to bat Estrada 5th? When he got dropped in the order it really helped him and the team. Then Yost rewards him in a place he already failed miserably at. If we lose this game...I don't even want to think of it.
  19. .211 with RISP with two outs this year. Imagine they could just hit .250.
  20. This either will be an absolute heartbreaker or a huge win that could give the team tremendous confidence.
  21. I'm very glad I was wrong about TBow there.
  22. i have a feeling of a TBow bobblehead execution tonight.
  23. Horrible, just horrible that TBow is in this situation.
  24. I really thing this is very fun and we (as Brewer fans) are not used to success. I am guilty as charged. i overreact many times to situations that happen in baseball when they happen badly to my team. A lot of times i will be very negative because I think as a society we cling to negativity sometimes. It just sucks that I am right on my negativity so much this season. I really think the Brewers are more talented than the Cubs. i really think to get themselves over the hump that they need to prove that they can do things under pressure. For example, a nice 9th inning comeback would be nice and would give this team confidence that they can do it. Right now, if the Brewers are losing after 6 innings, the game is basically over. The Cubs are definitely better in this category than the Crew. They (Cubs) BELIEVE they can comeback anytime and are clutch. We need that mentality. Overall, I think that this season has been a blast. I just hope that a couple little things get turned around before they become too major. Also, please refrain as fans to being too negative, but at the same time "too positive." Sometimes overpositive fans bring out the negative in a lot of us-including me.
