    Jeanne Zelasko on the FOX pregame: "In Chicago, the Cubs have the Brewers right where they want them." ...where would that be? 6 1/2 games ahead of them? I'd be cool with that.

    Anyone remember Hall being benched (not once, but twice) for not hustling down the line? Of course that was 3 years ago, before hall became the all star slugger he is today... I remember Yost sitting him down for a couple games last year after he got thrown out of a game for showing up an umpire after a called strike three call. I remember him flipping his bat over the plate and turning around to argue right away, and while Ned went out to argue after Billy got thrown out, he said something after that game about showing up the ump not being acceptable, even though Ned himself disagreed with the call.

    From what I remember, Billy has *always* been slow out of the box when he makes good contact (this is going back to at least the beginning of last season). He hasn't been thrown out at 2nd often enough for it to become a big concern for me, though. As for today's incident in the 11th, it sounded like it was actually pretty close to going out -- it definitely had Jim Powell fooled until it bounced off the wall. You could make the argument that you at least make an effort to look like you're hustling until it does go out, but he probably got wrapped up in the fact that he nearly won the game.

    Not only does Corey almost have to be considered a candidate for player of the month, doesn't Ben Sheets almost have to be considered the leading candidate for pitcher of the month?

    Bonds is in the Player's Association, he just opted out of the PA's collective liscensing agreement. Miller is barred from joining. I think he is the last scab in the big leagues (not really surprising) Isn't Brendan Donnelly still around, or did the Red Sox let him go?

    I wonder if anyone actually bought a Miller t-shirt today? You know what the funny thing is? Since Damian isn't a part of the player's union, I don't think it's even possible to buy a Damian t-shirt, since they don't make them. Edit: I could be wrong though, if others have actually seen them in stores. I was under the impression that you'd have to get them custom made.

    Bush up in the bullpen?? But you were doing so well, Ned! What happened!? Please tell me we're not going to revert back to yanking Bush back and forth between the rotation and bullpen and watching it fail miserably like we did last year until Ned finally came to his senses. Can't Villy pitch an inning or something?? Here's to hoping for more Graffy magic.

    BA has definitely gotten better as the season has progressed. I think earlier in the year, he was just working through the nerves of his first big-league job (which is understandable -- he seems like a pretty young guy and this was his first MLB job as the main guy). He's started to settle down a bit and he's started to joke with Schroeder a little more, which is good. Every announcer has tendencies that get old after awhile, but I think so far I think he's done a good job. My favorite BA moment this year was actually opening day where he barely said anything during the game's final at-bat while Sheets was getting the final out of the complete game, and basically let the crowd announce the last at-bat. For whatever reason, I thought that was pretty cool.

    D'oh...not enough oomph on that one for Braun. Another run would've been nice before Turnbow took the mound, but oh well. Hopefully the curve is working tonight.

    Anyone else kinda hoping they let Villanueva hit third in this inning? I'd like to see Turnbow get a mental day off after the atrocities of yesterday.

    Bruntlett pushed Jenkins off the bag on his way up from the slide. The Brewers get to start next inning with Counsell and Sheets now...bummer.
