  1. Please God, no Matt Lepay. The only worse option would be Bill Michaels. Steve True would be much worse than Bill Michaels.
  2. Ugh. Take that stupid banner down. It's not like the overwhelming majority of his saves were with the Brewers anyways. First home loss to the Pirates since May 4, 2007.
  3. I don't know how anyone could root for a Chicago team and still sleep at night. Just seems really lame and pathetic. I think a potential Hawks v. Caps/Flyers/Penguins/Canadiens/Bruins finals would be really, really good for the NHL. I'd rather see the Blackhawks win than some Sun Belt team with limited fan interest.
  4. The BC was unbelieveable tonight, especially considering the crummy regular season crowds. It was crazy seeing so many fans wearing Bucks gear/awesome homemade Bucks shirts. If they keep the momentum going and win Wednesday, Friday night will be a can't miss game. Here's the remaining schedule: Wednesday: @ ATL, 7:00 (TNT) Friday: ATL, 6:00 (ESPN) -- very likely no conflict with the Brewers Sunday: @ ATL, 12:00 (ABC)
  5. If I didn't have Bucks playoff games to look forward to, I'd be taking these losses much harder.
  6. Game 5 won't conflict with the Brewers (12:05 game); Game 6 on April 30 will probably run into the start of the Brewers @ Padres game. If we make it to Game 7, it will probably be on ABC on Sunday 5/2, so no confict there.
  7. They're forced to go head-to-head with the Brewers each night, too. There's not a chance Game 4 will sell out.
  8. Only one of our two games will be on NBATV (probably Game 2 -- either Monday or Tuesday). Charlotte/Orlando is a mediocre matchup, too, and I expect Chicago/Cleveland to be over in four games, opening up more spots on ESPN/TNT. Right now, my only concern is selling out the playoff games. It might be a tall order if the first game is Thursday and the Cubs are in town for the rest of the weekend. Edit: Playoffs begin Saturday at 4:30; home games Saturday and Monday nights.
  9. Soriano, Fontenot, Soto, Wells doesn't exactly scare you either Considering our history, the first three definitely scare me.
  10. Wells for Cy Young. Just wait till he faces the black hole of suck after McGehee.
  11. I can't wait until Sheyer sucks in the NBA. Edit: If the half-court shot had gone in, it would trump any championship ending in any sport ever.
  12. COL: 1-2 STL: 2-1 @CHC: 1-2 @WSH: 2-1 @PIT: 2-1 CHC: 1-2 PIT: 3-0 (long live the streak) @SD: 0-2 12-11 4 + 5 + 6 = 15
  13. 79-83. Weeks will miss time once again. I think we will have given up on Hart by the end of the year. Wolf and Davis disappoint. And Yo, too. The bullpen will be very, very solid. Prince and Braun continue to be awesome.
  14. This team is really, really good. I hope the Bucks do everything they can to ensure the playoff games are sellouts.
  15. Once again, I don't think the Elite 8 run was impressive and I don't think either Sweet 16 run was impressive. And two of the last three years they've lost to a double digit seed in the tournament. Sorry, if I'm not impressed with that, if you are, that's fine. I agree. I feel like the 2005 Elite Eight run was handed to them -- failing to beat #11, #14 and #10 seeds would have been a failure, imo. Keep in mind that the 2007 team struggled mightily against a #15 seed and then #7 UNLV destroyed the Badgers in the next game. Bo has yet to lead the Badgers to the type of run, for example, like the 2003 Marquette team -- who beat two higher seeded teams. Nothing against Bo, but he doesn't have a signature tournament victory in his resume yet.
  16. The Bradley Center was completely filled for Xavier/Minnesota. It was mostly filled for the beginning of Oak/Pitt, but at the end there couldn't have been more than 2,000 in the building. Props to the Oakland fans -- they were loud and seemed like a fun bunch.
  17. Although unlikely, the Bucks may end up with a better record than the Celtics and still earn the 5 seed. In that case, they'd get homecourt -- seeding in the NBA is only about matchups/brackets.
  18. Xavier/Minnesota Pitt/Oakland Ohio State/UCSB Oklahoma State/GA Tech are the four games in Milwaukee. I'm shocked they chose not to send Kentucky here.
  19. Marquette must win tomorrow to escape the dreaded 8/9 gauntlet.
