  1. I'm just waiting for the 9-day, 6-game West Coast road-trip. Particularily brutal are the back-to-back games against the Lakers and Suns. That's why I'm cautiously optimistic at this point, but well-aware that that roadie could kill the season.
  2. I thought Kansas City had its eyes on the Islanders. I was under the impression that KC wants an NHL team, not the NBA. John Brew, I wouldn't scalp a ticket outside of the BC. I haven't seen many scalpers this season, and I bought a counterfeit ticket last season. If you're going alone, buy a $10 seat and you should have free reign over the upper deck. If you want to sit in the lower level, you might be better off taking advantage of some of their single game deals, available on the Bucks website.
  3. -I'm lol'ing at Lance Allen. Last night during the highlights, he said, "It sure looks like Luke Ridnour broke his arm." Luke played tonight. -Toronto's defense may be historically awful.
  4. It's definitely possible he could do both. Thom Brenemann works/ed for the NFL on FOX, Big Ten Network, and the Reds at the same time. Josh Lewin works for the Rangers, FOX, and he's the Chargers radio PBP guy, too. It wouldn't be idea for the Brewers, but Craig Coshun has done a nice job for the Brewers and for the Big Ten Network.
  5. IMO, we'd have at least two more wins if we had been at full health. The Spurs game would have been a coinflip because Bogut owns Duncan, the Hornets game was inexplicably awful, and I'd like to think Bogut and/or Luc Richard would have been the difference against the Magic. Interesting week ahead: Chicago, @Washington, @Detroit, Cleveland.
  6. People love to hate Bud. Somehow, someway he was supposed to establish an elaborate a drug-testing program and institute a salary cap. Yet, they forget to mention the Wild Card, playoff expansion, record attendance, interleague play and the goodwill/excitement of the 1998 HR chase. Here are some of the Bud-related responses from another board I frequent: -Integral to pretty much ensuring both the Yankees and Red Sox make the playoffs every year, yeah. Good riddance to Bud Lite. -I think that baseball will be a lot better without him involved. Except for adding a wild card in the playoffs and creating interleague play, in my opinion I think he was the worst commissioner in all of sports. -Bud's Weak Spot is not Standing up enough to the Owners (Salary Cap, Territorial Scalebacks, etc.) Maybe a new commish can change that. -Bud "Light" (Kenesaw Molehill) Selig has failed at everything he has touched. He will not be missed. Frustrating. I know we have a wee bit of bias as Brewer fans, but to rate him below Gary Bettmann or David Stern is wrong, imo. Some people hate Bud just because it's fashionable to do so.
  7. MU has NCF games against Florida State tomorrow and NC State @ the BC on Saturday. Wins against Xavier, Michigan, FSU and NCST should be more than enough to vault MU into the Top 25.
  8. Agreed, especially considering they had to travel to Orlando and play an afternoon game after a home game Tuesday night. A win against Michigan would be very nice -- we're going to need every last win we can get.
  9. Well, I still think they can acceptably call 2010 the "40th anniversary season", in that forty years ago will have been the first season of the current iteration of the Milwaukee Brewers. I've seen the word "anniversary" misused pretty often. I remember the NFL got some flack when they branded Super Bowl XL as the 40th anniversary of the first Super Bowl. Actually, the 40th anniversary was the next year. So, 2010 is definitely the 40th anniversary of the 1970 season.
  10. Bucks getting some national love: Friday's game @ OKC is now on ESPN at 8:30 pm.
  11. Ugh. That is just devastating. Bogut is worse than Sheets. Redd and LRMAM will likely miss tomorrow, too. My excitement and enthusiasm has been tempered, no doubt about it.
  12. The BC would have been a morgue last night, if not for Squad 6. I wish the fans, especially the people in the lower level, would get on their feet and cheer during critical moments during 4th quarter, like you'd see at an MU or Brewer game. Squad 6 has been incredible, but the whole crowd should get into the game. I love, love, love Jennings. I was most impressed with his 6/6 FT shooting in the final minute. He certainly doesn't look like a rookie to me.
  13. I'm having visions of the Bucks sweeping the homestand. Probably won't happen, but there's no reason for them to not be at least 7-3 by next weekend.
  14. Agreed. I can handle the respiratory symptoms. I woke up this morning with a pounding headache, a mild fever, and I've been coughing all day -- the symptoms are mild, so I don't know if I have a cold or the swine flu. It doesn't matter to me, as long as I'm not puking. Vomiting is one of my top fears, so I'd definitely get a shot for stomach flu. The other, respiratory flu? I'll pass.
  15. a.) He's a True Yankee. b.) He has 5 World Series rings. c.) This was a topic of an argument in Curb Your Enthusiasm two weeks ago, iirc.
  16. Here's a lame joke I heard today: What's the difference between the Yankees and the Cubs? The Yankees have won a championship in their new stadium.
  17. Tough break for the Phils. They thought they stuck out Damon on a foul tip to end the inning --- the fans exploded. And then, bam ... the Series is all but over.
  18. Fox 6. They're showing Brett Favre's top follies sometime this week. The montage during the promo features one of Favre's best plays as a Packer (his lunging TD shovel pass to Donald Lee). What??
  19. The NBA has never taken an aggressive stance on officiating, and this is the consequence. Not only that, I think this kind of crap is a directive from David Stern himself. I think he's a slimy, shady, smarmy fellow, and I hope someday somebody will take him to task. In his time as commissioner, he has screwed at least two teams (Milwaukee and Sacramento) out of conference titles -- and look where those two teams are now. I'm also very wary of the Lakers/Blazers WCF in 2000. Homer, I peruse the Bucks board on RealGM, and IIRC, one poster conducted an awesome study on Dick Bavetta or Joe Crawford (I forget which one).
  20. I've been Mountain Dew free since May. Back then, I learned that caffeine and I don't mix. I downed a large Starbucks coffee on an empty stomach, which eventually led to a nasty anxiety attack -- probably one of the scariest things I've ever experienced. I was never a caffeine addict, and I've learned to survive on decaf coffee. It's a bummer, though, because Mountain Dew is delicious.
  21. I saw Dan Gadzuric at the Best Buy in Fox Point on Monday. He was dressed very nicely in a suit, and I believe he was buying a laptop.
  22. Congratulations on your purchase, Yankees.
  23. I just dont understand why you are expecting people to give you extra money to do it The tip is for the driver because the driver incurs wear and tear to the car and probably has to pay for the gas. I've been a delivery guy on the side for over a year, and I personally want to ream out people who pay me $8 for a $7.98 order. Just today, I drove beyond the delivery range to deliver a relatively small order, and I received a 16 cent tip.
  24. I was hoping the Angels would lose for IBBing A-Rod. Foolish decision, IMO.
  25. The SEC has mustered up the courage to hold its officials accountable for their mistakes. I think it's about time that MLB does the same.
