  1. This wouldn't really help at all. I mean, I guess if your goal is to inconvenience Cubs fans then it would help but in terms of limiting the sales to Cubs fans, it wouldn't. If they can't go up themselves to get the tickets, they probably have a friend or a relative that they'd be willing to pay to get the tickets.
  2. Brinson hit .332/.403./.601 between A+, AA and AAA as a 21 year old.
  3. And a journeyman scrub like Sogard leading off. I kind of got it, even though I disagreed with it when he was hitting but he's hitting .234/.314/.298 in his last 105 plate appearances not counting the 1-5 or whatever he had tonight.
  4. No, there is no reason to trade prospects at this point. We're behind in the division to a much better team and don't even have the wildcard to fall back on.
  5. No, but if the Crew wins tomorrow, they gain a game on the Cubs lead heading into this series..that works, ESPECIALLY since the Cubs have 9 of their next 12 against Washington and Arizona coming up.. Then they have 23 straight against the Reds, Blue Jays, Phillies, Pirates and Braves. Meanwhile we have the Cardinals, Rays, Twins, Reds, Pirates, Rockies, Dodgers, Giants and Nationals. I'd say their schedule is much easier than ours until the two teams meet again.
  6. Wow this is just idiotic. There was no reason for DS to build a bullpen this year. And there's no reason to build one next year either because players in their late 20s having by far their best seasons ever seems like an anomaly.
  7. You guys ever see an elephant poop and pee at the same time? This has nothing to do with the game, just telling you to go to a zoo and wait for it to happen. You'll be so happy when you see it.
  8. Hernan hacks on 2-0. Lol jk, Hernan doesn't let it get to 2-0.
  9. Both pitchers had a ton of hard hit balls against them yesterday. They just mostly found gloves.
  10. And I'd also like to mention how dumb Kris Bryant was on that second Brewers run. Bases loaded, nobody out and a ground ball right to him with the pitcher on deck. That's the kind of play you dream about going to home with and instead he goes to 2nd. He gets that out at home (and maybe at 1st) and you have the pitcher coming up (unlikely Counsell takes Suter out in the 4th) with a chance to get another out via a strikeout or groundout and then a chance to get out of the inning with no runs scored.
  11. Not only is the curveball dumb there because of the runner on 3rd, Knebel has been hanging some lately and it's a lot easier to crush a curveball in a bad location than it is to crush a 97 mph fastball. He hangs the curveball and there's a decent chance Schwarber crushes one 450 feet. He misses with a fastball, he might still crush it but at least there's a decent chance that the velocity will be too much and he'll just pop it up or miss it outright.
  12. Said on twitter that they laid off Jim Bowden but that is exactly the type of thing he would've proposed while he was still with ESPN.
  13. This is so incredibly dumb. Like, there probably isn't a player available on the market right now that makes less sense for us to acquire.
  14. I'd consider 3 of those starts bad. Obviously the 4.1/7 and the 5/5 is bad but the 5/3 is bad too (5.4 ERA and you need your bullpen to cover at minimum 3 innings, 4 if it's a home start.)
  15. Don't care for sending down Phillips either. Wanted to have him play CF tomorrow against Scherzer. Play a little matchup, keeping Brinson from the hard righties. Sort of a soft platoon with the two rookie CFs. Figured there would've been a reliever to send out, given the past performances and adding Swarzak to the bullpen staff. I'm sure we'll get something stupid like Perez in CF tomorrow.
  16. You seriously just named two relievers who have been Rob Scahill like in their ineffectiveness but we would've had to pay nearly $30 million for them. Casilla has been no better than Hughes this year (including tonight) and I'm pretty sure he wanted to stay in the Bay Area anyways. Is this about money? Like you wanted him to go out and spend a crap ton of money on old and/or not good relievers to make you think he's trying to improve the team? Because that's the only reason I can think of for you naming those three guys and trying to make it an indictment on Stearns for not signing them.
  17. We don't know what he is when it comes to bullpens because he's never tried to build a quality one.
  18. The funny part is, he got a 98 mph fastball right down the middle and missed it right after swinging at a slider about 2 feet off the plate. Even if you think you were screwed out of the first strike, and you weren't, you still really have no one to blame but yourself there.
  19. Solid idea having Braun attempt to steal with a bad leg.
