  1. They're going to win the division going away and probably aren't eager to give up anything of value for a stop gap/bench player which is what Villar would be when Correa comes back.
  2. I get the contract and everything but it seems like the Giants are getting Stanton for pennies on the dollar.
  3. I honestly had no idea Rivera was even on the roster.
  4. De Jesus is a career .242/.303/.327 hitter in the majors. I'm not sure why you think he's going to do anything positive offensively.
  5. Musgrove and Davies is sort of a wash. Whitley and Hernandez obliterate Ray and Diplan's current value.
  6. Just this year or next year too? Honestly not sure he ever gets the control to get guys out multiple times through the order and the arm angle to lefties will be mitigated by teams stacking their lineups with righties. I said in the transactions forum that I'd be willing to include him in a deal. I haven't really seen anything that makes me think anything other than reliever.
  7. I mean, I'm not sure why anyone thought Cooper was worth anything. 26 year old that couldn't post an OPS over .800 until he was able to put up monster numbers in Colorado Springs. It's about what I expected for him.
  8. Okay Cervelli, we'll call that a ball in which case you're still down 1-2 and likely to make an out and that pitch is called a ball every time against us in the 9th. Fair trade? Good.
  9. I think Hader starting this year is a disaster waiting to happen.
  10. I know this is completely different because this is MLB and I was little league and high school doing this but when I first started playing baseball I would bat right handed. It felt natural to me even though I'm left handed. So when I was around 11 I decided to try switch hitting. Picking up the ball wasn't tough or anything and I eventually got okay hitting left handed but was never completely comfortable doing it. After about 4 years I decided to switch back to just right handed. Since my left hand is my dominant hand I always felt more comfortable and in control having my dominant hand on the bottom of the bat. Since he throws right handed, I would assume Villar's right hand is dominant and I'm just wondering if he's like me where having his dominant hand on the bottom of the bat gives him more control to the point where it would be advantageous to just scrap hitting right handed so he could feel more comfortable batting, even if it's against a tougher left handed pitcher.
  11. I would say Hernan hacks on 2-0 but he's rarely in a 2-0 count.
  12. Would it shock anyone if Phillips was a .220/.315/.415 type hitter in MLB? That 30% strikeout rate in a park where the ball doesn't move as much is scary as hell.
  13. What? Our pitching is incredibly top heavy. We would be throwing Nelson or Anderson in the wild card game, whichever one doesn't pitch in the wild card game in game 1 of the NLDS against Kershaw if we win and then going with either Guerra, Davies, Garza or Woodruff for game 2, back to the wild card starter for game 3, Nelson or Anderson for game 4 and then back to Guerra, Davies, Garza or Woodruff for game 5.
  14. At what point is Villar better off just batting left handed permanently?
  15. I have no idea why Braun was playing so far back there.
  16. Nah, that was a bad send. Any decent throw was going to get him. Maybe if it's someone other than Pina (or Thames) running but that one had pretty much no chance of being successful.
  17. That might have been the most unexpected strikeout in the history of MLB.
  18. Why, at least it was close... Sedar sends guys that get thrown out by 10 feet. Well, it was the pitcher and look where Kuhl was when Vogt caught the ball. Probably around 10 feet.
  19. What a stupid send by whoever the Pirates 3B coach is.
  20. ESPN is saying we're winning 3-0, so we have that going for us.
  21. Name what he does well. Terrible defender and below average efficiency on offense is pretty much the textbook definition of bad player.
  22. Come on. Oakland doesn't even consider that for a second.
