  1. The White Sox didn't trade Quintana because nobody offered them a Sale type package, so unless you offer Brinson and Hader and then add a third piece, I don't think they listen and there's no way in hell we should be doing that anyways.
  2. [sarcasm]Release the bum![/sarcasm] He's so bad that he's going to be the first player in baseball history to be DFA'd without being on the 40 man roster.
  3. Sedar works for the Marlins now apparently. One of the dumbest sends I've ever seen. Yeah Knebel strikes out a lot of guys but you have two chances to get that run in and chances are the Brewers are going to concede the first run to prevent the second run from scoring.
  4. Or Suter. We have multiple options in the bullpen to eat up innings while Hader steadily increases his pitch count/work load.
  5. I don't know how anyone can watch Espino pitch and think, yeah, that guy is our best option. Guy throwing 88 mph meatballs down the middle that typically get sent to neighboring states (wind dependent) is not our best option. Yeah, Hader may struggle and walk some guys but at least he has the stuff to actually get hitters out. Espino has a 4.60 ERA (lucky because the Cubs crushed him but it was cold and the wind was blowing in), a 6.71 FIP and a 5.57 xFIP and he's been getting lucky with a .191 BABIP. Guy shouldn't even be in the majors, much less starting.
  6. They didn't have Chapman at this time last year and have basically replaced him with Wade Davis anyways. Their bullpen is still really good. Their starters are just having a much more difficult time giving the bullpen a lead to hold on to.
  7. I'm more pissed that career scrubs like Sogard decided to not suck to make us an average team and hurt our draft position next year.
  8. Uhh, if you could point out my political commentary, that'd be great.
  9. Braun has to lead the league in unnecessary diving catches.
  10. Guerra's ERA is under 4 which is pretty amazing because he's been horrible all year.
  11. I'm sure they'll throw a boatload of money at all of them and whoever takes it first, gets it.
  12. ESPN gamecast is terrible. I'm always directed to it when I go on the ESPN app and I just quickly look at the score and exit out of it, it's that bad.
  13. The problem was he graduated from Aronmore, or at least the yearbook says he graduated from Aronmore in 2010. Then be went to two high schools in Louisiana, then to one in Virginia, then to one in Canada. So between 2010 and 2016 he was at 5 different high schools in 3 different countries. It would be pretty easy to lie about your age to faculty and the student body in that scenario.
  14. I really don't get what's so hard about if you're not going to play your top prospect the majority of the time (especially when he would play over a player as uninspiring as Hernan Perez), then don't have him on the roster. If the main job is going to be sitting on the bench, bring up some AAAA guy or someone whose ceiling tops out as utility player or 4th outfielder.
  15. Thon is very likely older than 20. 25? I don't think he's that old. I mean, the yearbook photo showing him in the 2010 graduating class is pretty much the only evidence available because I doubt there's a birth certificate in Sudan to verify his actual age so when they went to Australia there was probably some guessing on how old he was. The Obama thing was easy to disprove and was when his birth certificate was posted showing he was born in Hawaii. It's a little more difficult and probably not as big of a concern to get a birth certificate when you're born in a third world country in the middle of a civil war.
  16. Freeman just made Thames and Santana look completely clueless.
  17. He felt the Braves were taking too long (they weren't) to decide if they wanted to challenge a pick off play at 1st so he started screaming at the 2nd base umpire.
  18. Swanson has to field a hard hit grounder, spin around 360 and throw blindly to 3rd base. That throw is off by a foot and he's safe. The ball was hit behind him as well, so it's not like it was a routine grounder right to Swanson. Hell, there was a decent chance that ball wouldn't have been fielded cleanly. Hell of a play by Swanson to get the out.
  19. Yes and no. Why this franchise continues to act like that team was special, I have no idea. Like, I get it the franchise has sucked and that team made it the furthest but in the end, you're celebrating a loser. Is the franchise going to have a David Freese Day in 2031 to celebrate 20 years since he owned us in the NLCS?
  20. Good call on the replay. Arcia did have the ball in his glove and dropped it on the transfer but his foot wasn't on the base until after the ball came out.
  21. Sweet. Now Nick Franklin is getting starts over Brinson.
