  1. Casinos are a huge part of Biloxi. There's a giant hotel/casino that you can see from MGM Park (Beau Rivage). There's also a Hard Rock hotel and casino just down Beach Blvd. There are also smaller hotels right across the street from MGM Park and based on your post, it seems like you might want those. https://www.bestwestern.com/en_US/book/hotel-details.25008.html?iata=00171880&ssob=BLBWI0004G&cid=BLBWI0004G:google:gmb:25008 http://doubletree3.hilton.com/en/hotels/mississippi/doubletree-by-hilton-hotel-biloxi-BIXDTDT/index.html You could do a day trip to Ship Island Other possible points of interest. https://maritimemuseum.org/new/ http://www.visitinfinity.com/ http://www.biloxishrimpingtrip.com/home http://zipnfun.com/ http://www.gulfislandswaterpark.com/
  2. There's not a chance we get a #1 seed. The resumé is awful and isn't going to get much better because the Big Ten is horrible.
  3. Nobody was in a position to take a shot until the guy for Nebraska actually took the shot. Easily could've fouled. The main problem was Koenig played horrible defense on the last possession. When they set the screen, Happ came out to the guard to contest as he's heading towards the corner. That's going to be an incredibly difficult shot to make with a guy 8 inches taller than you defending knowing that you have to shoot the 3. So Happ basically has the guard, there's no reason for Koenig to rush over to recover on defense. The only thing he needs to do is either guard the guy who set the screen or get himself between the ball and the screener to make the pass back to the screener a lot more difficult, if not impossible. Instead he flies back to the guard at a bad angle, over commits on defense and ends up running past the player with the ball. This allows the guard to make an easy kick out pass to the screener who is now wide open because Koenig decided to switch back on defense even though there was no reason to.
  4. People need to stop getting so hung up on Cubs fans being in Miller Park. It's going to happen. It's a huge fan base that is less than an hour away if you live at the border. They have a huge national following from being on WGN and are in a huge market. You're never going to keep them out of Miller Park. The fan base is too big, the teams are too close and it's not like you can do the "only Wisconsin residents can buy tickets" because chances are the Cubs fan either lives in Wisconsin or has a friend or relative that lives in Wisconsin that will get the tickets for them. Obviously you don't want a bunch of visiting fans in your stadium but it's going to happen in this case. There's nothing the Brewers are going to be able to do to stop it, so take their money and hope you clobber them.
  5. Not even sure how that would speed up the game since teams are going to have the same chance of having the runner from 2nd score. The only thing this will do is give the first batter a lot of sacrifice bunts to get the runner to 3rd with 1 out and trying to guarantee the team a run.
  6. He doesn't adjust to the game flow at all. He basically designates rest periods and never wavers from them no matter how the game is going. It's one of the dumbest things he does.
  7. It says it's on the Wisconsin Channel which is public television but those games haven't aired, even on tape delay in the Milwaukee area for years.
  8. Minnesota is still a heavy, heavy favorite to win the Big Ten. Wisconsin vs (6) Penn State vs (6) Penn State vs Michigan vs Michigan @ (7) Minnesota @ (7) Minnesota @ (6) Penn State @ (6) Penn State vs (11) Ohio State vs (11) Ohio State Minnesota has @ Penn State and @ Ohio State but they get Wisconsin at home and they finish the season with Michigan and Michigan State. It's been an amazing season and I'd be happy with a tournament appearance considering where Wisconsin has been the past couple of years but I'd be completely shocked if Wisconsin won the Big Ten. If we could get a bye to the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament, that would be amazing. Thank God they're moving the tournament back to campus sites in 2018. The tournament since the Big Ten started has been terrible. Especially awful in Detroit but it wasn't exactly thriving in St. Paul either.
  9. It was almost a perfect hockey night for me. Badgers beat Michigan State in OT, though they need to stop giving up these last minute game tying goals. Admirals win in Grand Rapids for the first time in over two years. The only blemish was the Predators completely dominating the Red Wings and losing 1-0.
  10. Oh what could have been. Two games is the difference between on the outside looking in and being firmly in the NCAA Tournament. http://host.madison.com/wsj/sports/college/hockey/badgers-men-s-hockey-wisconsin-puts-itself-in-position-to/article_b29999da-9dd7-5af6-a004-b7937702eb7c.html
  11. I wonder if the Badgers will ever revive that weekend tournament they played for a couple of years at the Bradley Center. I went with some friends maybe 7-8 years ago and one of the games was against North Dakota. Our seats happened to be right by a section with a few hundred North Dakota fans and me and my friends had such a good time interacting with those Dakota fans. In fact, it just may have been the most fun i ever had at any hockey game i've attended in person. For whatever reason Wisconsin stop playing that weekend tournament in Milwaukee. That tournament was started back in the late 80s when Wisconsin football was terrible and the athletic department was operating in a deficit. They decided to try out a tournament in Milwaukee as a way of boosting revenue. It worked, at least initially. Then the Badgers hired Alvarez and the team was consistently making bowl games. Instead of going to Milwaukee for the hockey tournament, fans would instead buy tickets to whichever bowl game the Badgers would be in. Attendance began to suffer in Milwaukee. The tournament eventually moved back to Madison and was killed off for good 6 years ago iirc.
  12. Badger band at the Admirals game tomorrow night. Always a great show!
  13. John Hammond's tenure
  14. I'll trade Medeiros for Trea Turner who was taken one pick later.
  15. Would love to see the Brewers buy Colorado Springs, move them to Madison, upgrade Warner Park even more than it already has been and set up a AAA team there.
  16. @BenBadler Wow. MLB went soft on the Cardinals. Weak penalty. ‏@BenBadler Cardinals should be pleased. They get out of it without having to give up even one first-round pick. @BenBadler For "package deals," MLB banned the Red Sox from signing players for a year and removed 5 prospects. The Cardinals won't lose a top 50 pick.
  17. So that cuts the Cardinals bonus pool from almost $4 million to just a little over $2 million and the Astros can basically use the money received to pay the draft picks they select with those picks.
  18. Well he hasn't been waived yet. Presumably the Rockies will try to salvage something for him in trade before they place him on waivers. I dont understand the process. DFA so when does it become waivers for teams to claim? Isnt it essentially waived now pending a trade in 3days? It's a 10 day process. Teams can only wait 7 days before they have to put the player on waivers. Prior to that they can try to work out a trade with another team. I'm assuming the Rockies are trying to do that now if they feel he'll be claimed by multiple teams on waivers.
  19. Badgers are 18th in the PairWise putting them right on the brink of a NCAA tournament berth. Still a lot of games left to go though and some tough games. They need to beat up on Michigan State and Michigan and then probably split with Penn State (4 games), Minnesota and Ohio State and then do decently in the Big Ten Tournament. That might be enough to have them sneak in, which would be amazing.
  20. This is the kind of player I want the Brewers to add. Not Matt Wieters, Eric Thames or Chris Carter.
  21. Will he? He had an 87 OPS+ last year. Don't get the reluctance with going with Susac who was a well regarded prospect who was blocked by Posey. We had a hard enough time trading Lucroy last year who was cheaper, signed an extra year and overall just much better than Wieters yet we're expecting Wieters to be flipped for a prospect or two? What's the quality of these prospects? Just start Susac and stop with this signing veteran garbage in hopes of flipping him. We're rebuilding and we have an option that's younger, cheaper and could possibly be a starter for many years. I get more pissed off the more I read about us being interested in Wieters.
  22. Just play Susac. Jesus, we don't need to go after every mediocre free agent there is.
  23. I question how much you watch if you don't think this is rare. There's an average of 1 fight every 4 games. Games with more than one fight haven't reached 100 since 2010-11. The AHL introduced new rules this year where you get a 1 game suspension for your 10th fight, a subsequent 1 game suspension for every fight until your 13th fight and then a 2 game suspension for every fight after that. Fighting just isn't a huge part of the game anymore.
  24. Depends on what game you want. If it's a concert game, you might need to get there early (check the map on ticketmaster to see how many tickets are left and then make a judgment on if you'll be able to get tickets at the box office.) The ticket office is open until at least the start of the game and maybe a little later. Scalpers are still there but I never use them.
  25. The defense is far worse than the goaltending. Need Osiecki to work some recruiting magic there.
