  1. This is weird because there are 18 year olds pretty much every year playing in the NHL. Last year McDavid, Eichel and Sprong were in the NHL at 18. David Pastrnak is in his 3rd season in the NHL and won't turn 21 until May 25th. Seth Jones is in his 4th full year and won't turn 23 until the start of next season. Nathan MacKinnon is in his 4th full season and won't turn 22 until September. Aleksander Barkov is in his 4th full season and won't turn 22 until September. Alex Galchenyuk debuted as an 18 year old. The NHL is the sport where you can play immediately after high school.
  2. The Packers defense, ladies and gentlemen!
  3. Nobody wants him now at whatever price he's trying to get. WHat makes you think we'll be able to flip him for anything decent in 6 months? It's honestly not worth the time, money or effort.
  4. That's not kids, it's registered players total. And Michigan and Illinois have twice as many people as Wisconsin. Of course they're going to have more registered players. Wisconsin has almost as many registered players as New Jersey, more than Ohio, twice as many as Washington, more than Colorado, Texas, Florida and Virginia.
  5. How poor is this man? Kershaw has had a K-BB% over 27% the last 3 seasons. Gray's is 12.7% for his career. I guess they are both major league pitchers in the state of California, but I see noting else that is even remotely comparable between the 2. Gray's ERA from 2013 to 2015......... sub 3 Kershaw's ERA from 2013 to 2016........sub 2
  6. Haven't won since I posted this.
  7. I don't see how Stearns is ahead of a trend there. He came into a rebuild and just happened to have high quality, cheap relievers on the roster when he was hired. They pitched well and he traded them, since relievers don't mean a lot to rebuilding teams.
  8. Milwaukee does not fall in the Blackhawks market. Kenosha does, Racine might as well but that's about it.
  9. Come support this team. http://i.imgur.com/xdFEAkS.jpg
  10. The Mariners offseason from hell continues.
  11. I would be shocked if he's anywhere close to that.
  12. The structure across from the Bradley Center is torn down. Head to N. Old World 3rd St. (you can't go north of the BC on N. 4th St. anymore.) Go north past McKinley, look on Vliet St., you can park on the street there for free. If there's nothing on Vliet, there will probably be parking on N. 5th St. for free.
  13. Milwaukee Brewers $12m per year (Some information suggests thus figure will rise to $30m before 2013 season) Expires after 2019 season St. Louis Cardinals $14m per year Expires after 2017 season (suggested that it will be $35 million in 2017) http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/dodgers-send-shock-waves-through-local-tv-landscape/ Cardinals new TV begins in 2018, will pay nearly $67 million on average per year and is expected to begin at $55 million and increase with inflation each year. The deal also includes a minority stake in Fox Sports Midwest.
  14. Think this is a really solid deal. Good AAV and shorter term to mitigate the risk.
  15. I'd definitely take the under on 75 wins but I don't think it's impossible. If Thames turns out to be better than I think he will be. If Arcia hits a little. If Villar repeats his season. If Guerra repeats his season. If Broxton's second half is the real Broxton. If Davies stays as is or improves. If we get the Peralta of the second half instead of the first half. If Garza pitches like he did late in the season. If Nelson pitches like he did early in the season. If Torres repeats last season. If Susac can be a 2-3 win starting catcher. If Braun repeats last season. Then yeah, they could win 75-80 games. What are the chances that all of those things happen though?
  16. Baseball don't fear the reefer. Nor do Cali, Colorado or Maine, we can be like they are. Come on baby, don't fear the reefer.
  17. I pretty much agree with this. There's risk in holding on to Thornburg and him getting hurt/not being productive but I'd take that risk.
  18. I think Stearns is listening on everyone but not actively shopping guys like Villar. If he gets an offer he likes, he'll trade him.
  19. If the Angels decide to trade Trout, they're going to be rebuilding, which makes pretty much every one of the players except maybe Broxton not wanted by them. For Trout you probably start with Arcia, add one of Ray and Brinson, two of Ortiz, Hader and Bickford, two of (Isan) Diaz, Diplan and Phillips and then maybe a wildcard like Nathan Kirby or someone like that.
  20. Just start Susac. He's going to be 27 when the season starts. See if he can be a full time starter. If he can be, you have him under control for another 4 years after this year. No reason to be going after free agents right now.
  21. The Brewers have a new logo and constantly go back to the old logo from the one time they were good. That's nothing like the Cubs.
  22. I look forward to the return of a logo I have no recollection of and seems to only be used because the rest of the team history is so crappy that it gives everyone warm, fuzzy feelings every time we use it to bring them back to that one time the Brewers were good.
  23. Maeda has incentives in his contract that can push it over $100 million. This talk of Thames being an .850 OPS guy is crazy to me. What has he done other than destroy the hitter friendly KBO, a league he was only in because he couldn't hack it in MLB to make anyone think he could produce anywhere near that much? If he posts a .750 OPS, you should be ecstatic.
  24. They literally just got rid of Josmil Pinto who would be making the minimum for the next few years and is only 27.
