  1. Honestly, why even have umpires if they're going to do this? http://i.imgur.com/waqbLhd.jpg?1
  2. Somebody hire me as an umpire. I can miss multiple calls in an inning too!
  3. Cue he's going to need a rocket up his ass to catch this one or I think you can go get him now or any number of Major League quotes.
  4. Umm, yes they can. Rebuilding means you can take younger players that are struggling and see if they can work through it. Rebuilding teams don't/shouldn't care about wins and losses.
  5. In terms of stats and stuff like that, sure. In terms of trades and trade value? No, he's awful. He's the one that suggested Segura for Despaigne and Maurer last year. Not to derail the thread or defend Cameron but Segura was coming off a .246/.289/.326 year when he proposed that trade. And it still made no sense even with Segura being terrible considering the Brewers were also terrible and would be picking up an older, also awful pitcher and a youngish reliever. At that point, you just keep keep the SS and hope he improves.
  6. Right? Even if they don't want him in 2017, they can easily trade him for whatever position they want to fill on the major league team or prospects.

  8. This inning summed up in 13 seconds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtNugAOuki8
  9. Not sure you could play a routine fly ball worse than Presley did there.
  10. I want the extra bonus pool money. That's something that always seems to be ignored by people who "don't want to tank."
  11. I'm just guessing. I'm sure it hasn't happened a lot because 1. A team needs to be out of challenges. 2. The play needs to be close enough where it wasn't an obvious call. So how many challenges do we see during a game across all of MLB? I'm guessing it's far less than an average of 1 per game so in most cases a team would just use their manager's challenge. I mean, would you really know if a replay was declined? A manager could go out and ask for a replay but he could be having a discussion with an umpire about numerous other things and unless he was specifically asked about it in his post game press conference and then said as an answer that I asked them to look at a replay but they said they wouldn't, nobody would ever know. I guess I don't see the problem or what we're even arguing about here. Bryan Price or some other coach or whatever saw the replay and looked like Gennett might have had his foot off the base. During the commercial Pryce goes out to talk to I'm guessing Jim Joyce since he's the crew chief and probably says to him something along the lines of "We just got a look at the replay and we think his foot might have come off 2nd base before he had the ball, we'd like you to take a look at it." Since they had no challenges left, Joyce could've just said no but since it was a big play in the game, he probably said we'll take a look and they ended up getting the call right. I don't see what the big deal is? The goal is to get every call right and no rules were broken in looking at the replay. Blame Jeffress for getting in that mess to begin with. Blame Gennett for not keeping his foot on the base when there was no pressure on him to take his foot off the base. I think they should just get rid of manager's challenges to begin with. It's stupid. I think everything should be initiated from New York. It would just make it a much smoother overall process.
  12. A .310 OBP with average defense at best? I mean, it'd be okay but I want to hit a home run on this deal (before anyone says so you do want Gallo) and I'm just terrified that he's only going to be the 2-3 WAR guy instead of the 5-6 WAR guy a lot of people are hoping he'll become.
  13. You probably don't see it denied because it's in a commercial.
  14. My only problem with the replay is no error was given. I know you can't "assume" a double play but unless you think keeping his foot on the base a split second longer was going to send the ball flying towards the sun, I don't see how you can't rule it an error.
  15. I don't think it is as impressive as some think(while picking up lots of money), but I am not the biggest Gallo fan. Then again the experts call him a Top 10 prospect so maybe I just don't appreciate the potential. I just don't see him being more than a .250 hitter, lots of power, and a boatload of K's. I realize he could put it together and be a superstar...but I just don't like the odds. That being said those experts(and most GMs) probably love him and value him highly which would make that prospect combo an amazing addition to the farm. I see the potential in Gallo but there's also a decent chance that he ends up like .210/.310/.550 hitter or something. There's also a chance he ends up a .270/.370/.600 hitter and is a multi-time all-star. I just can't shake the feeling that he's going to end up being the former instead of the latter and therefore not the main piece you'd want in a Lucroy trade.
  16. It's really not. The rule states that even if you're out of challenges you can go out after the 7th and make a suggestion that the umpires should look at the replay. They don't have to grant it but they obviously thought it was close enough to take a second look.
  17. So biased. Too close to really tell? Anyone watching that replay could tell he was out. And it obviously wasn't too close to tell otherwise they wouldn't have overturned the call.
  18. Because the Brewers have historically done terribly with pitchers like Pint who can't locate for crap. With Groome you're getting top level stuff and the ability to locate and more polish. I'm not using a top 5 pick on a pitcher that the Brewers have never been able to develop. Until they show they can (in a later round), I'm staying far away from pitchers like Pint.
  19. Because? 3 top players I'd like to see Milwaukee draft one of are all there. Pint/Groome can just turn out like a draft with Scherzer and Kershaw. Both frontline starters/Aces. Win/win regardless the choice. Because Pint is a distant 3rd on who I would pick in that spot. 1. Groome 2. Perez 3. Pint
  20. Don't worry. Nieuwenhuis or Presley will be in for him tomorrow.
  21. The Reds are a complete disaster. A lot of people picked the Brewers to finish last in the NL Central before the season but I never knew why and still don't. The Brewers were better last year and were bringing back a better overall roster even with the trades of Gomez, Fiers, Lind and whoever else I might be missing. Of course it doesn't help the Reds that Votto turned into a pumpkin and their bullpen is one of if not the worst in MLB history but still they never had the talent of the Brewers, however little talent that may be.
