  1. I mean, offers for 1.5 seasons of Lucroy > offers for 1 season of Lucroy > compensation pick for Lucroy. You can play hard ball all you want but eventually you're going to run out of time and back yourself up against a wall and end up taking less than what was offered. He needs to be gone on July 31st.
  2. I don't understand why you're saying Thornburg isn't valuable. He's been awesome and is more valuable than Smith to me.
  3. I could watch Stanton do that all day. Between the laser beams and the moon shots, that was so much fun to watch. How far are some of those in Colorado? Is 530 feet out of the question?
  4. From 2007 to 2012 the Brewers went 69-24 against the Pirates. That's a 120 win pace over 162 games. I think that probably counts as domination. In the same stretch, the Brewers went 59-36 against the Astros. Not Pirates dominance but still a 100 win pace over 162 games.
  5. I can't for the life of me understand the venom on here for Villar. You were just complaining in the game thread how the Brewers pissed away 1st and 3rd with 0 outs and Villar was a huge reason why.
  6. If you want to move him when his value is high, I'm not sure you're going to find a better time than now.
  7. This return looks like a whole lot of nothing to me. Rijo is sort of interesting I guess. Wilkerson is a 27 year old career minor leaguer who has almost as many innings in independent ball than in the minor leagues.
  8. I hate this game. If you're going to make it count for home field in the World Series (which is such an overreaction and beyond stupid), at least take out the ridiculous rule that every team needs a representative. That's how you end up with Adam Duvall and his .291 OBP in the game.
  9. I don't even care about the hobby, especially in like batting practice or something. If that appeals to you fine but if you like go out of your way to steal a ball from a kid or knock a kid over or something, that crosses a line (I have no idea if he does this) but seriously, this game is for military personnel. You really can't let one game go? If you're that desperate for a ball, wait until after the game and check Ebay or post a message or something asking for a ball from someone who was at the game and got one. I'm sure they'd be more than willing to sell or maybe even just give the ball to you.
  10. Yeah, especially since a kid could've had the fun of catching it or watch his/her mom or dad catch it and give it to them. Not being given a ball by some 40 year old weirdo who shouldn't have been at the game.
  11. But it's not misleading because he's been a starter every time he's been in the majors and the only time he wasn't horrible was when he was a rookie and the books wasn't out yet that he swings at everything.
  12. Nothing about his trade value but good god could the Nationals use him because their outfield other than Harper and their offense other than Harper, Murphy and Ramos is horrible.
  13. He had a poor start, but I have trouble calling .282/.308/.508 "terrible" play. Not many walks, but a .220 ISO is pretty decent, even in the PCL. It also opens up more time for Cecchini to play third for the Sky Sox. Was actually looking at 2015 at El Paso on Baseball Reference because for some reason they feel they need a break there. Still a bad MLB player that's going to give us a bunch of outs. Whatever, would rather see Cecchini or a DFA of Niewenhuis with Broxton playing everyday and then calling up Middlebrooks.
  14. I went swimming because it's a nice day and I didn't want to wait for the rain delay anymore.
  15. At least Broxton won't rot on the bench but I can't think of one damn reason why Middlebrooks is the call up. Horrible in Colorado Springs and not exactly a spring chicken either with a horrible major league track record over 1,000 at bats.
  16. Jon Lester has to be up there as well. I thought he only had a problem with pickoffs at 1st.
  17. No they don't. The Mariners don't have the pieces for Lucroy anyways. The only remotely interesting piece in this deal is Diaz.
  18. Parra had a near .900 OPS when he was traded last year. Hill doesn't have his value.
  19. He would've been safe but he lifted up his leg before touching the plate.
  20. Davies is getting every single borderline pitch while Scherzer had 3 pitches clearly in the strike zone called balls in the 1st inning.
  21. Sounds like a Keon Broxton kind of game. He would have to get a start to get 5 at bats.
  22. Michael Taylor went 0-5 with 5 strikeouts and in the bottom of the 9th allowed a single by Puig to roll under his glove and all the way to the wall allowing Puig to score and give the Dodgers a 4-3 win.
  23. I think every player we have scores easily on that, except Maldonado.
