  1. This is so stupid and a complete waste of money.
  2. This is just speculation on my part since I have no idea what their pay structure is, but it may actually be a preemptive measure more than just cutting the current cost. There are currently at least five lawsuits against NFL teams for under-compensating their team affiliated cheerleaders. The Raiders lawsuit was settled for $1.25 million earlier this fall. The diamond dancers program may not offer enough value to justify the pay increases that would be necessary to keep them compliant with compensation requirements. Are you serious? "Compliant with compensation requirements"? Huh? Were they making less than minimum wage? Sorry, not trying to turn this into a political conversation...but just...wow. It's been a pretty big story this year. http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-09-10/nfl-cheerleaders-battle-teams-for-minimum-wage#p1
  3. Yeah, he'll teach those young players how to drink beer and eat fried chicken in the clubhouse on their off days.
  4. He's terrible. Pass.
  5. Nobody needs a dance team.
  6. That's a good way to make sure nothing ever gets done. We know Kidd loves Ersan but say Hammond has a great, can't pass up deal for him. Will Kidd veto the trade because he likes Ersan or will he actually let Hammond trade him?
  7. I would think a team like the Yankees or someone with some money would be happy to have one of the best 2B in the game for around $12-$14 mil per season through 2017 It's not 2011 anymore.
  8. I think there's a decent chance the Brewers finish last in the division in 2015.
  9. Wait, you want a guy with a career .319 OBP and .652 OPS to get the most plate appearances on the team? All for a freakin' bullpen arm? I couldn't think of a worse use of assets.
  10. I don't see how the Mariners signing a DH/LF takes away the possibility of them trading with us for anybody except Braun or Davis. Edit: Cruz's home runs last year overlaid to Safeco Field. http://hittrackeronline.com/overlay/overlay_1417458973_750276298.jpg
  11. The sooner people stop paying attention to Jim Bowden, the better.
  12. Me neither. I just always think of this when it comes to libraries. That's what growing up in the golden age of Nickelodeon does.
  13. If I had a vote I would use all 10 of my picks on Eddie Guardado.
  14. Most point guards are smart enough to know not to dribble into the roll lane on a pick and roll. Brandon Knight isn't.
  15. Why? If our plan was to throw big money at Zimmermann, it would make sense to have Gomez (at least for a year) as well, right?
  16. You can't expect a PG to learn that either though. It's typically an either you have it or you don't. Knight is fine as a 6th man scorer. Not as a PG, unless he's willing to be like a Mario Chalmers or something.

  18. In your face, Cardinals!
  19. Just an awful deal. I don't really get what Toronto is doing. They had a nice farm after rebuilding, then made that huge trade with the Marlins and the Dickey trade which failed spectacularly and now they just seem to be trying to piece a team together hoping to catch lightning in a bottle for a playoff berth. But they'll probably stop trying to improve now that they signed Martin and will be right back to being a .500 team give or take a few games.
  20. Really like this deal for Atlanta. You already get at minimum a mid rotation starter with 4 more years of control and a good pitching prospect for a RF who's seen his power plummet since 2012 with only one more year before free agency and a reliever.
  21. I agree there's a ton of risk in the contract. The problem is the Marlins have a horrible history of signing players and then trading them early, so I think Stanton probably wanted some protection. I'm committing to you so you have to commit to me if you want me to sign. You could make the argument that they would be better off trading him for a huge haul and I wouldn't argue it but what does that tell the already angry at Loria fan base?
  22. Stanton just turned 25. Votto was 28 when he signed his deal. Cabrera signed his deal a month before he turned 31. Stanton through age 24. .271/.364/.540/.904 Votto through age 24. .300/.367/.511/.878 Cabrera through age 24. .313/.388/.542/.929 You're completely underrating Stanton here. He's got probably 8 years of elite production left and after that he should still be pretty good for a couple years. He was better than Votto at the same age and pretty much on par with Cabrera.
