  1. Yeah. It's kind of startlingly dire at 1B for the Brewers. Right now its dire for most teams. The Cardinals aren't any better off. It seems that there are handful of really good guys and then a bunch of guys below average. http://enlightenyourday.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/yellow-beer-goggles-300x220.jpg
  2. And he's also worked in the Blue Jays front office. The thing is, I would rather stay writing for ESPN too. The job security of ESPN is much better than the front office of an MLB team and that would be a huge deciding factor for me.
  3. I'm sure many other scouts that don't write for a national website are wrong all the time and strong about their opinions as well, we just never see them because theirs aren't written on said national website. It's not like he doesn't acknowledge that he's been wrong about players. In pretty much every chat for the last 6 months he's said how wrong he was about Paul Goldschmidt. He says he's been wrong about Chris Sale. I'd rather have a writer who's strong in his convictions and then admit if he's wrong than have a writer who's wishy washy or all sunshine and rainbows on a ton of prospects.
  4. Overbay and Reynolds are bad but they're likely better than what we got from 1B last year. It'd be almost impossible not to be.
  5. Completely unrelated but does anyone else find it weird that things like bull you know what and son of a you know what are deleted but then in the edit it says the part that was deleted? Kind of funny to me.
  6. Adam McCalvy ‏@AdamMcCalvy Hearing Garza's 4-yr deal with #Brewers guarantees $50mm, with $4mm more available in incentives and a vesting option for 5th year at $13mm
  7. A very tradeable contract that they probably won't trade, which is my fear. If this works and the Brewers are contenders, great but if it doesn't and the Brewers are once again 15 games out and under .500, I hope they realize that it isn't going to work and decide to rebuild.
  8. I give this friend of a friend an e-cookie.
  9. Rosenthal reporting it now. Saying 4/52, which seems really low to me.
  10. Nez Balelo, same agent as Braun.
  11. There is a serious lack of Boof on the Brewers right now.
  12. Not really.
  13. I think Thornburg/Smith/Nelson/whoever else is fighting for the 5th spot in the rotation would go to the bullpen/minors before Estrada is sent to the pen.
  14. Chinooks fan!!!??? Heretic!!! Heathen!!! Sincerely, A Bullfrog fan. "Grip it and Ribbit"
  15. McCalvy is saying Overbay will be #24 (and Mark Reynolds #7), so that can be put to bed.
  16. Not really a fan of taking a player out of the game in a corner outfield spot.
  17. This is so perfectly stated. Last offseason was all about fixing the bullpen while completely ignoring everything else. This offseason was spent signing 50 1st basemen to throw against a wall. The only exciting thing about the upcoming season is finding out which position Doug is going to zone in on in the 2014-15 offseason.
  18. How dare you forget Greg Aquino and Claudio Vargas.
  19. link? There is no link. He tries to be an insider and fails horribly at it.
  20. Why isn't Gomez bolded?
  21. Mader's is really good. German food, down by the Bradley Center, expensive though. Miller Park is 4-5 miles from downtown depending on where you are.
  22. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/sports-channel-mistakenly-airs-x-rated-version-cubs-063421851--mlb.html
  23. Here is the most expensive house on the market in Appleton, $4 million. http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/6919-N-Palladium-Ct_Appleton_WI_54913_M83204-18771?row=1&ex=WI553034119&source=web Why anyone would need a 10,000 square foot house, I have no idea.
