  1. Mark Trumbo's career OBP is 15 points higher than Yuniesky Betancourt's. I don't want that guy playing for the Brewers unless it's a bench role.
  2. Fielder rebounded from a worse year in 2010 than he had in 2013. He's definitely overpaid by a lot, but he's certainly still capable of big seasons. We're not talking Rickie Weeks type numbers even in his worst years. Can you please explain how .261/.401/.471 is worse than .279/.362/.457?
  3. Glad those games weren't on TV. Yikes.
  4. Back in the day they used to say the exact same thing about Green Bay. And the Milwaukee Brewers. Trwi7, if you want to argue FA don't want to come to Green Bay, good luck. Ted Thompson obviously doesn't want to sign many FA, but that's a different story. I'm not saying the Bucks will suddenly become the Lakers or Celtics in terms of a destination for FA. But if they build into a winner with young talent, they may be able to get a top shelf FA. What top free agents signed with the Packers when Sherman was GM? They were good then. If money is equal, no free agent worth anything is going to choose to play in Green Bay or Milwaukee over LA, Chicago, Miami, New York, Philly,Orlando, Denver, Dallas, Houston, Seattle, San Francisco, Boston etc.
  5. What exactly about Green Bay makes them an intriguing free agent destination? Charles Woodson who didn't want to go there but basically had no choice? Ryan Pickett?
  6. Why do they need to win a ring? What's more likely in trying to convince the public, politicians and investors to build a new arena? Losing 65 games for a year or two and then consistently winning 50+ games and advancing deep into the playoffs or consistently winning 37-41 games and maybe making the playoffs and getting annihilated by the Heat? LOL at Milwaukee ever being an intriguing destination for free agents. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
  7. My fellow soccer fans will love this. Fox gets rights to Bundesliga beginning in 2015-16.
  8. He hit a triple last night and raised his arms like he hit a homer, then when he got to 3rd he pumped his fist. It's the playoffs, lighten up. People aren't robots.
  9. An average, 30 something corner outfielder with one year of control left is probably going to return an average, 30 something first baseman. In that case, you might as well just sign Hart and use Aoki to fetch the best prospect you can.
  10. I would imagine Aoki doesn't have the value of a good 1st baseman.
  11. Some top notch defense by Fielder to stop that ball in the 9th. You have a huge body, use it to get in front of the ball.
  12. They probably took the list of season ticket holders and randomly picked names off the list. You're over thinking this.
  13. Seriously. Does anyone have any idea how time consuming it would be to call every season ticket holder? He'd be calling into spring training.
  14. Keep waiting. I don't know why everyone wants or needs a phone call. If you're mad about the influence they have in the ability for their team to win it's pretty ridiculous to be mad at Braun for that. 1. He apparently took them to help get over nagging injuries in a season where the Brewers had a legit chance to win a title. 2. He served his suspension when the team was already far out of any chance of getting a playoff spot. So it's not like his suspension affected the Brewers chances of winning anything meaningful.
  15. I can understand discretion being used on some plays if they're really close but may come off a split second early to avoid getting their legs taken out. Sometimes though a player is way off the base and still called out, those are the ones I have a problem with.
  16. I'm sorry that's just not even close to getting it done. Look at what Shields, a lesser pitcher than Price got them. Myers - Way better than anything you're offering Odorizzi - On par with Nelson Montgomery - Really high ceiling, kind of a wild card with his injury history Leonard - Meh, Davis is better but that doesn't come close to making up for the rest of the package. Price will fetch at least what Shields got and should fetch more.
  17. League Championship is the league below the Premier League basically the Triple-A of English soccer. League One is a tier below the League Championship and so on. The bottom 3 teams in each league at the end of the season are relegated down to the next division, the top 2 teams are automatically promoted to the next division up and a 4 team playoff between teams 3-6 is used to determine the third team that will be promoted. The Champions League is the top European competition. The top 3 teams in the Premier League automatically qualify and the 4th place team goes to a playoff. Same for the Europa League except the competition isn't as good (5-8th place teams in Premier League) I have no idea about Serie A or anything else. I'm sure you could probably find something online about it but I just hate watching sports online. I'm sure they probably have some games on BeIN Sport but I don't get that so I don't really pay attention to any of those teams unless I'm watching the Champions League.
  18. No, Caron Butler is done based on the last few seasons he's played.
  19. I think you're looking at Segura, Lucroy and Nelson at minimum. Yes I know two of them are established major leaguers but our farm system is so bad there's no combination we could put together that would even come close to enticing the Rays.
  20. NBC has all the games. NBC Sports Network carries most of the games, NBC has some games (usually the big matches) and CNBC has a few as well. Since a lot of them start at the same time they have overflow channels though it depends on your cable provider I guess. I have AT&T and there's usually 3-4 overflow channels that have a game on. I don't know what it's like for other carriers if you don't have AT&T. Newcastle just came back up from the League Championship a couple years ago but they were in the Champions League about 10 years ago so there's been a history of recent success as well as some pretty bad failure. You won't be miserable as long as you don't expect Champions League qualification and probably Europa League as well. Southampton is different. They were in the Premier League for the first 15ish years of its existence but were relegated to the Championship about 8 years ago and then relegated from the Championship down to League One but made it back to the Premier League last season and finished 14th, 5 points clear of relegation. Just don't expect much from them either despite their current position as they really haven't played anyone (other than Liverpool who they beat) but they also have a bad loss to Norwich (Norwich's only win) and a draw with Sunderland (Sunderland's only point). They have a great head start on the rest of the competition and if you decide to root for them you should be ecstatic if either qualify for the Europa League.
  21. That was more of a good news/good news thing for me. They look awful and Giannis looked good. Caron Butler looks done, so chalk that up to another stupid Bucks veteran move.
