    They really need to completely overhaul the bracket. The Guardians have a bye with 85 wins and will get to play either the 81 win Astros or 84 win White Sox. Meanwhile the 98 win Rays will have to play either the 93 win Yankees or 87 win Red Sox. And people can say this year is an anomaly and the bracket isn't normally this bad but a bracket like this should never happen, even once every 100 years is too much.

    I mean, it is kind of embarrassing. It literally just seems like longest tenured player = captain. The most embarrassing part is the timing of it. If you want to do this in spring training or whatever, fine. I still think it's stupid but whatever. Doing it right before the end of the regular season? Weird and embarrassing.

    What is the role of the captain? We're only the third MLB team to have one so obviously it can't be that important of a role if 27 teams manage to go without one.

    But what is the achievement? His career OPS as a Brewer is just slightly higher than Geoff Jenkins. To do this at the end of the year when he's been terrible this year is embarrassing. There's no reason to do it.

    Kinda like the thought of a team loading up righties against Gasser and we pull him after a few innings and go with Patrick/May as a counter.

    I think Arizona has the tiebreaker, although if Arizona wins tonight San Diego will have the 4 seed to play for tomorrow.

    I actually took the summer off for the first time since I used to work at a local summer camp and I have to say, it was nice in a way but I also missed the interactions and the fun (and the money.) 😂

    Still not sure if you can trust him enough to put him on the roster but Harrison has looked a lot better his last few outings.

    They are 95+ and classified as hard hit, so yes? You can hit a 100 mph ground ball right to the SS and it still counts as hard hit.

    Anything over 95 is hard hit. Again, weird how September is a busy month for a teacher!

    Technically 3. 4 if you want say the 0.1 mph off of a hard hit ball is close enough.

    May is going to need to have some kind of postseason that I don't think he's capable of to make that trade anywhere close to worth it.

    Projected standings just need to be ignored completely from every outlet. Outside of outsider teams like the Dodgers (good) and Rockies and Angels (bad) they basically group every other team in the 80-88 win range. How often is there only one 90 win team and a couple of 90 loss teams? Never. 2025 had the NL Central teams projected to win between 78.3 and 83.2 wins. Technically possible but what are the odds that 5 teams are within 5 games of each other after 162 games?

    Which is fine. Line up your pitching how you want and a few off days before you have to play two games with another off day and you can still use as many pitchers as needed in those first two games.

    You said he can get through 3 innings and blows up in the 4th, since you seem to think it's like clockwork, we could easily plan on him going 3 innings and then fill in with May, Drohan, whoever to get to Ashby/Uribe/Megill. Again, you give Miz and Henderson a chance to work out of trouble. If Gasser, May, Drohan or whoever else starts and gets into trouble, you pull them and go with your bullpen, because, again, for the last time, with so many built in off days your relievers get a lot more rest than they do in the regular season and you can use them sooner and in more games.

    Why would he probably get shelled? He does a fairly good job limiting hard contact . And if there's a time where you're fine using 3 or 4 relievers a game it's the playoffs. Again, tons of off days. Have you ever seen the playoffs before? Because everything you're posting right now suggests you haven't. The Brewers went game off day game off day game game off day game off day game game off day game game While also having several games off before the playoffs even started for them last year.

    Who cares? It's the playoffs with a ton of off days and a couple starters in the bullpen. You don't need every starter to go deep into games.

    Defense for the most part has been really good.
