Gwynn had a 2.8 WAR this year. Gomez has been a 3.3 WAR player in his career.
  2. trwi7
Learning that his option was declined.

Melvin wants two pitchers. Would it shock anybody if we spent the $14 million we saved on Washburn and Davis?

Again, Gomez is the best defensive CF in baseball. No he's not. Franklin Gutierrez is. And all Gomez is doing is replacing a good defender who's also a good hitter. That's a complete downgrade. Who could the brewers have replaced in CF next year? I'd prefer Gerut to Gomez. Gomez is just terrible. He should be in the minors. He still not developted yet on offense. If he can learn to take a walk once in awhile, we all of a sudden have an elite player. His offensive track record in the majors and minors speaks for itself. He's just not a good offensive player and I doubt he ever will be. Over 1,000 at bats in the majors and he can't even crack a .300 OBP. He is awful.

Turns out we didn't get anything for him. I'd rather keep him, hope he regains his value by the trade deadline next year and if he doesn't then you can still make a terrible trade for him later.

Over 83 million Americans over the age of 12 have tried it.

My problem with Perkins is I could strike out as many guys as he does. That's sort of a problem to me.
  8. trwi7
I'm not going to lose respect for the guy because he's doing something a third of the U.S. population does.
  9. trwi7
I think it would increase the chances we offer him arbitration. Teams don't have to give up one of their picks for him now.
  10. trwi7
Oh wow would that be a terrible deal. Gomez shouldn't even be on a major league roster right now. He should be in the minors working on not sucking on offense. I would extremely angry if that deal happened.
  11. trwi7
    Congrats to the Bankees.
  12. trwi7
Not to go off topic, but why? Gindl is a good defender.
  13. trwi7
I don't think this is a bad deal for the Pirates. Worst comes to worst, they trade him at the deadline, likely for more value than Chavez provides.

Great loss. Jennings and Bogut played very well and the rest of the team sucked as I expected. With each loss we're a step closer to adding another young piece for the future.

Seems if they're taking notes they have to do scouting of some kind which means those seats actually make sense. You can get a view of the whole rink and more of a bird's eye view that you wouldn't get in the 100 section and you wouldn't be way up in the nosebleed 300 section either and they put them on one end so they get the view of the whole rink instead of having to turn their heads to see some trailing behind the puck or a penalty that occured off the puck or something.

They stole it from the Simpsons.

What kind of dog is that? It looks a lot like my dog except mine is dark brown with a black stripe on her back. Whoever did the dog as a skunk by just doing a white line down its back is a total fail. You have my vote. Edit: Thanks to some well placed "poor" votes, Maui is now in first place. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Sorry, the whole thing was just awkward to me. Maybe some were good but some were so bad that I had to turn it off because it was so embarrassing.
  19. trwi7
The whole thing was cringe worthy. Just a terrible idea by whoever came up with it.
  20. trwi7
Jennings took that game over in the third. Remember when LeBron went insane against us in the third last year? That's what I would compare it to.
  21. trwi7
How much do you think he can realistically spend? This market can't support even a $110 million payroll. Probably not even a $100 million payroll.
  22. trwi7
Wow? Who saw the game tonight? I missed it, but a 4-1 win and outshooting New Hampshire 51-13? Did they really dominate as much as the box score said they did?
  23. trwi7
What guy? This isn't the same guy who did the Greinke thing. This is a Mets fan.
  24. trwi7
It was SCassell19. I'll look for that thread. Edit: Here's one thread. Here's another.

I'd rather have Suppan. Both players are terrible, but Suppan is only terrible for one more year.
