  1. Gallardo was a 2nd round pick. We could play this game all day. I don't think relievers warrant giving up draft picks. You can find plenty of decent options where you don't have to give up draft picks.
  2. He is good, but I just don't like signing relievers to long term contracts, especially when we have to give up a pick to get him.
  3. That's not making me excited to sign him since Fuentes was fairly mediocre last year.
  4. Figured this was as good a place as any to mention this tidbit from TH.
  5. Church - .272/.345/.441/.786 with a career .341 wOBA and a 14.2 UZR/150 in right field. Hart - .273/.326/.470/.796 with a career .342 wOBA and a -2.3 UZR/150 in right field. They're exactly the same player on offense, Church is the better defender and he's likely to be cheaper.
  6. You should do it all before work and then come over and do my driveway and sidewalk. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Yep. I think it's ridiculous to compare Wolf to Suppan and Hernandez right now, but 3 years $30 million is too much. Go after a guy like Smoltz who I think can be just as good as Wolf next year without the long term commitment.
  8. Their owner is going through a divorce. They may not have the money to pay him.
  9. I would hope Hart has more value than a soft-tossing pitcher who missed the entire year after shoulder surgery and if that is his value, I'd rather just keep him and hope he regains more value.
  10. I thought Murton would've been a good outfield option for us. He's produced every time he's gotten an oppurtunity. Since I can't imagine we'd get one of their good, young pitchers, I'd ask about Seth Smith.
  11. DiFelice likely out for the 2010 season.
  12. Zaun himself said this. Link Four out of every five starters is 80% of the games which is 130 games in a season. So clearly it was you who showed a lack of research since that took me about 20 seconds to find.
  13. 4th outfielder? The guy who's making the lineup is Macha and Gomez is a young guy who hasn't proven himself. Pierre would probably be the starter in CF. I'm not sure if that should be in blue or not. I completely agree though. Suppan at least goes away after this year. I'd rather not have a roster spot tied up to a terrible player unless I have to. And in this case, it's not necessary.
  14. It was a mistake to refer to Suppan as a replacement level pitcher since he himself has been below replacement level the past two years.
  15. Zaun probably. It's not that hard to find a backup 1B.
  16. Whoever said PETCO Park is spot on. Hate that the bleachers in right field hang out over the field. I kind of like the ash seats, I don't think vandalism will be a problem, I'm assuming they'll have ushers watching.
  17. I wish all winter weather advisories turned into just a dusting of snow like I got.
  18. Tim Allen actually had a really good suggestion imo. Sign Rich Harden and move Suppan to the bullpen to pitch on days Harden does. That way you can watch Harden's pitch count.
  19. You can also listen live here.
  20. I don't get it. Are they saying Santa Claus isn't real? UVerse has a channel that's dedicated to tracking Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. Why would they lie? Why, Santa? Why? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Right before that play their player (can't remember who it was) lost control of the ball and was the first player to touch it again. That should've been a travel. Weird game. It was a game of mini runs. Badgers would go up by 7, Duke would cut it to 2, Badgers would rebound and go up by 9, Duke would cut it to 3, Badgers would go up by 10, Duke would cut it to 2. Amazing that there were no lead changes.
  22. Yeah and the Mavs were drafting ahead of the Bucks. We wanted to make sure we secured Traylor so we traded the 9th pick and the 19th pick to Dallas for the 6th pick. The Mavs were confident that Dirk would still be there at 9, but we weren't confident Traylor would be there, so to secure Traylor we did that trade, Dallas gambled that Dirk would still be there and he was. Dallas just takes Dirk with the 6th pick if that trade isn't made. So either way, he wasn't going to be a Buck.
  23. We never had a chance at Dirk.
