  1. We're sheepish because he never had a year close to this good in the minors and he has a .330 BABIP. It has nothing to do with Hall.
  2. I wish Axford would've got some work last night.
  3. Minor League splits are tough to find. It's not like there's a website with that very name with splits handy or anything.
  4. If he brought Duncan with him, I could deal with it.
  5. Because nobody can do anything until July 1st.
  6. It's going to be on three more times in the next three days too.
  7. It was real. As was the RJ for Wally deal which would've saved an additional $7M.
  8. So teams just shouldn't sign any role player to a long term deal? Considering age, current production and ability to improve, this was a great deal. Even if you don't want to sign Sessions, you have to get value of some sort for him. So turning down that Conley/1st for Sessions/Alexander trade is awful. John Hammond has done nothing since becoming GM and should be fired.
  9. Delfino, Ukic, Thomas Warrick. Those guys will make $11M this year and we'll be paying Bowen over $2M and he retired. Don't be swayed by the reporting and Hammond's quotes. You're doing exactly what he wants you to do.
  10. You're exactly right. Nobody buy the garbage that MJS and Hammond are going to give you about our luxury tax problems and not being able to keep Sessions. Hammond created that problem.
  11. Houston and San Francisco are huge markets. Both are top 8 media markets in the U.S.
  12. Steffan Wilson gives the Stars the lead in the 8th, 4-2!
  13. - Pleased with how his arm has felt. Positive experience in Helena. - Got the tendon from his left wrist in 2002 and got the one from his right leg. Felt a big "pop" in the leg after about six weeks and never felt pain in it again. - Feels like he had pretty good command in his first outing. Not as good in his second outing. Pleased with his command and no pain at all in the arm. - Throwing fastball, changeup, slider. None have been bothering him. - Wife came up. Hiked Mount Helena. Sort of a mini vacation for them. Loved it so far. - Married gives him a sense of strength. She's supportive and knows what he's going through. - Heading to the Fall Instructional League after the season. - Hasn't started talking to his agent about free agency. Talk about options after the season. Brewers have treated him with nothing but class and he would be happy to come back. Would love to be in the position to get himself back out on the market in a couple years. He'll be starting the season finale tomorrow.
  14. We have two years of control. If anything, getting him for two years should be a Teixeira type deal plus another prospect for another half year. The Holliday and Santana situations aren't comparable at all.
  15. Bumgarner was entirely unimpressive in his start last night. Staying in the high 80s and topping out at 90.
  16. Rivas gives up a 2 run HR to Austin Romine. Tampa now leading 2-1 in the 6th.
  17. The Jeremy Jeffress thing from last night was just cleared up. Rapoza was wearing #30 last night because his usual #16 jersey was left behind. So Stephen Smith not being familiar with the Manatees having just moved from California wondered whether or not suspensions only counted in the regular season since 30 was Jeffress' number.
  18. I'm not saying he has a high ceiling, but he has good strikeout numbers as well as good stuff. If he can be a middle reliever, that's huge value for us.
  19. Why does he have a low ceiling? He throws hard, he has a good breaking ball, he needs to work on his control a little, but that can be fixed. And why does he need to come in in lopsided games? It's not like we're in a playoff race here. It shouldn't matter when he comes in. Some of the stuff you've been saying lately has been really weird. Axford has a low ceiling. Calling Kendall a defensive whiz who has a .350 OBP etc.
  20. Listening to Stephen Smith. He said they're scheduled to restart the game 7:30 Central time.
  21. I wouldn't mind taking a gamble on him. I'm not sure what it would take to get him and even with how bad he's been, I'm not sure Cleveland would move him because of their pitching problems.
  22. Umm, has anyone read this article? I haven't seen it posted, but it's scary. So Gamel's going to play sparingly but you'd like to see what you have in Corey Patterson? You haven't figured out that he's a terrible baseball player in his 3,500 major league at bats?
  23. Come on Keith. You know LaRussa put Macha in a little bit of a zim zam there. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
