  1. Losing Alexander wouldn't make us worse. He doesn't even play. This move also has financial implications. Sessions is an RFA after this year and could get an offer around the MLE. That means he and Alexander would make around $7 million compared to the $3,883,800 Conley will make. The big mistake was giving Allen and Elson player options next year which combine for $3 million which could've been saved for Sessions. This trade would be pretty disappointing to me. I'd much rather trade Redd and RJ who are nowhere near worth their salaries.
  2. I'm going to add Hart's projection to this since Hart may be traded if Cain produces. http://www.baseballprojection.com/hart-co0385.htm
  3. Lets' look at Swisher's career numbers vs his 2008 numbers. Career GB/FB - .79 2008 GB/FB - .78 Career BB% - 13.9% 2008 BB% - 14.2% Career K% - 25.5% 2008 K% - 27.2% Career LD% - 19.0% 2008 LD% 20.9% (career high) Career BABIP - .279 2008 BABIP - .251 Looks like Swisher had a lower than normal BABIP which caused a drop in batting average and in turn hurt his SLG%. Also from an article on fangraphs. http://www.fangraphs.com/...sher-should-rebound-in-09
  4. I'd take Swisher for Cameron. You could always trade Swisher or Hart to fill a need if Cain proves he can play.
  5. He's not the "star" on the team and wants to play in a warmer climate.
  6. Saw that. Couldn't stop laughing. Call in the next 10 minutes and you also recieve the graty!
  7. Can you blame them? He and his posse were trying to get out of Milwaukee all year. Funny thing is, now they're trying to get out of New Jersey.
  8. Fielder is terrible at digging balls out of the dirt. In fact, on TV you can usually tell when a throw is going to be low or high. When I see a ball that looks like it's heading for the dirt, I just assume that the runner is going to reach base because Prince is awful at digging balls out. He's so bad he even dropped a couple of balls that were perfect throws this year.
  9. DiFelice isn't a trade piece that anyone would covet. He's a 32 year with about 20 innings of major league experience. You can sign guys like him to minor league contracts.
  10. ESPNU. My brother is a UWGB alum and will be at the game.
  11. If you guys want a great read, go look at the game thread on realgm. Especially the first 20 or so pages.
  12. What does Jamie Moyer have to do with anything? At 25 years old, Moyer posted a 3.48 ERA over 202 innings in the big leagues. At age 25, Chris Cody was still in High A. Not even close to being similar.
  13. I don't see it unless they're hit with injuries. They have Crawford, Upton, Joyce, Perez and Gross to use in the field before they have to go to Burrell.
  14. Since he's going to be a DH for the Rays, I'm not sure why you're counting his defensive value.
  15. Players would steal third base easily. They would have to stand up, turn their body towards third and then make the throw.
  16. Crabbe is with the Mariners now. Are you thinking of Iribarren?
  17. Dangit hawing, I'm searching up and down pages 2-10 looking for this thread and you bump it while I'm looking for it. Brutal series. At least the Admirals won and have the second best record in the AHL.
  18. Is this supposed to mean something? Matt Bush was the 1st overall pick. Parra posted a 4.16 FIP in his first year as a starter. Floyd has a 5.40 career FIP.
  19. His record of success meaning one season?
  20. Great article explaining how Floyd's 2008 season was very fluky. http://www.fangraphs.com/...oyd-step-forward-or-fluke
  21. Poison lasagna.
  22. 1. His K rate is below average. 2. He had a .268 BABIP and a 4.77 FIP this year. He's going to regress no matter what league he's in.
  23. That was Spencer Tollackson. Former Minnesota center.
  24. Turnbow is a guy who would be least effected by Arlington. He strikes out a lot of guys and gets a lot of ground balls.
