  1. AT&T U-Verse better carry it. If it doesn't I would trade my NFL Network for it.
  2. TH says the "big names" to look out for are Bob Brenly, Ken Macha and Buck Showalter. Link
  3. My brother does tickets and stuff for the Bullfrogs. I don't know if he does much else and he won't be there next year since he's going to be out of college. He says you get all the free food and drinks that you want while you're working though.
  4. According to Detroit Tigers Thoughts Bradley just misses Type A status, so he wouldn't cost us a pick. He's a great option if Prince is traded for pitching. Not sure he can play the outfield anymore though.
  5. Taylor Green went 1-4 with a walk. He's hitting .357 with a .938 OPS. Commited his first error of the AFL. Lorenzo Cain went 2-5. He's hitting .375 with a .750 OPS. David Welch pitched a third of an inning, walking one but giving up no runs. Brae Wright pitched a perfect 8th inning striking out all three batters he faced. Box score
  6. He's saying that with the players we recruit we could have an awesome defense. The problem is that the coaching staff is so conservative on both offense and defense that it prevents them from reaching that potential. On defense, you need to pressure the puck. Make the offense make good plays. Instead we just lay back and try to block shots. That's fine if you have a great goalie like Elliott was, but we don't have Elliott anymore and the defense needs to be adjusted accordingly. Also, our offense, mainly our power play is terrible. It's always a bunch of passes and usually a shot from straight on. No movement towards the net. Defenses realize that and play up on our defensemen. If they steal the puck, they're going to get a 2 on 1 or 3 on 2 break the other way creating oppurtunities for themselves.
  7. Watching this game and there is absolutely nobody at the arena in Atlanta. I wouldn't mind if Milwaukee took that team. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Absolutely not. Both Pierre and Cameron (if his option is picked up) will make $10 million next year. The problem is that after next year Cameron will be off the books while Pierre will make $18.5 million over the next two years. Also, Pierre's best OBP in the past four years was Cameron's OBP this year. To put it simply, Cameron is a flat out better player than Pierre and it really isn't close.
  9. They're going to need at least one more pitcher. McGowan is out until May and Marcum is having Tommy John surgery and will be out for the 2009 season. Maybe try to trade Overbay for a decent starter, move Lind to first base and then either go after a free agent left fielder of which there are plenty to choose from (Ibanez, Burrell, Dunn, although I've heard that Ricciardi isn't a big Dunn fan. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ) Lineup would look something like this. C - Barajas 1B - Lind 2B - Hill SS - Scutaro? 3B - Rolen LF - Ibanez/Burrell CF - Wells RF - Rios DH - Snider? SP - Halladay SP - Litsch SP - Burnett? Re-sign him maybe SP - Purcey SP - Decent starter for Overbay Hope McGowan can come back in May as expected and take a spot in the rotation. Lots of bullpen depth as well. Ryan League Carlson Frasor Camp Tallet Wolfe Accardo should be back as well, which will help the bullpen.
  10. Are you serious? Maybe we scored 51 less runs because Braun lost 116 points on his OPS from the year before, Fielder lost 134 points on his OPS from the year before, Hall lost 51 points on his OPS from the year before, Hart lost 133 points on his OPS from the year before. We dropped 48 points in OPS going from Estrada to Kendall. Blaming Cameron for the Brewers scoring 51 less runs is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read.
  11. Just noticed this. I don't know if they have a schedule for games on FSN-WI. I do check my guide though and the Wild will be on FSN-WI on Tuesday and Thursday.
  12. Why are you assuming that Gwynn would carry his .328 OBP to the majors when he's facing better competition?
  13. Too aggressive? The guy takes a ton of pitches and has one of the best walk rates on the team.
  14. I've heard they want to acquire a SS and move Aviles to 2B.
  15. Not really. That was what about September 18th or 19th? Thereabouts. Hart was much worse.
  16. If that's a pro style offense, it's a pro style offense that's in another country. Ever since the rule changes in the NHL it's much more up and down and creating offense through one on one, putting pressure on the defense and creating odd man rushes. I don't really follow recruiting much either. I just watch the games, but I know Kyle Turris and Blake Geoffrion were highly sought after and I believe Turris was the #1 ranked recruit in the country. I also know that Pat Johnson and Podge Turnbull were decent enough forward recruits and played well in the USHL. If I had to guess, I would think it's more of the system than the players not developing.
  17. I think it's more than that. The offensive system that has been implemented at Wisconsin makes it very difficult to consistently score goals. They have talented guys who can bring the puck up ice, they would be best served letting them work in the open ice to create odd man rushes and make the defense scramble. Instead the offense involves getting to the center line and dumping the puck down into the offensive zone and then chasing. That's a very difficult offense, especially when your opponent knows it's coming. They can play off the player and get ready to go into the zone and chase the puck if they know that's what's coming. I'd love to see them let the forwards carry the puck over the blue line and set the offense up from there instead of getting it to center and then just dumping the puck in and chase it. Meh. He's average, nothing more, nothing less. We probably got spoiled after watching Elliott.
  18. Probably 3/45ish. I like him a lot, don't know if he'd have an interest in playing here but if would have an interest and could get him on a three year deal, I'd be all for it.
  19. http://harrumpher.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/ussc.jpg http://cdn-www.cracked.com/articleimages/wong/artichokes.jpg We can either go with the UC-Santa Cruz Banana Slugs or the Scottsdale Community College Fighting Artichokes.
  20. Yeah, they just pick their favorites. I would've loved it if they couldn't have found anything for Kendall to be clutch so they would've went way in depth and had something like "Kendall was the most productive hitter on the team in Tuesday night games with an east wind between 5 and 10 mph and a crowd of at least 38,500."
  21. Based on expectations you say? I think many fans were expecting better than this. Yet he gets a C-, which is way too high of a grade. Yet Mota gets the same grade? There were no expectations for Mota, everybody knew whatever positive contribution we got from him would be a bonus. He was also much better than Suppan this year. This article clearly shows favoritism based on high batting averages or "big game pitchers" who actually weren't "big game."
  22. So he was working on an "A" when he had a .286/.321/.500/.821 line one month took it out? Also, if that line gives you an "A" then Fielder, Braun and Hardy should all have "A's" and Cameron should be in the discussion for one based on his better OBP and defense. Oh yeah, I like Rivera's grade too. It's like he's getting downgraded because Yost and Sveum never played him.
  23. Oh yeah, forgot this but how many guys have ankle tattoos? Guys don't get tattoos on their ankles.
  24. Best parts.
  25. Three Brewers made it into the game today. Salome went 0-4 with a walk and an RBI. David Welch pitched one inning giving up 3 hits and 2 runs. Brae Wright pitched a perfect 8th inning. http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/s..._perwin_surwin_1&sid=l119
