  1. So basically you're saying once the Red Sox got out to a lead with Beckett on the mound they would just stop trying? I don't buy that for a second. Edit: In games Josh Beckett won last year the opponent scored an average of 2.48 runs, the Red Sox scored an average of 7.62 runs in those games.
  2. This is the best picture I could find of him. He is skinny, damn. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w137/coleccionvenezuela/VENEZOLANOS/escanear0057.jpg He did raise his walk rate up to 6% in AA this year (up from 2.5% in A+, 4.9% the year before and 3.6 in 2005) his GB% has also gone down at each stop while his LD% has risen at each stop.
  3. It's actually 4,839. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif As for the making money part, you're assuming that these guys get paid like players in the NHL, they don't.
  4. I just installed it yesterday and can't get my account to work.
  5. Wow 14,180 posts? It seems like just yesterday we had the thread for your 10,000th post. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. Sweet now we have do/did have both players of that awesome Philadelphia third base platoon at some point. I'm guessing the Reds counter this move with Dusty Baker's all-time favorite, Neifi Perez.
  7. I don't think that's necessary. I mean it wouldn't hurt but it's not an absolute necessity. We have a ton of picks in the draft this year to replenish the farm system. Our own first, two sandwich picks (32 and 35 overall I believe) and the Reds and White Sox second round picks plus our own second. That should help replenish the farm system.
  8. I don't know, all they've been hearing about from the national media and even some of the local media is "Oh he sucked in Boston, why would you give him so much money?"
  9. Looks like Dodger Stadium.
  10. Damn I knew I forgot to do something today and that something was write a reminder to tell me that show was on tonight.
  11. The Pacific Northwest is just an awesome area in general. I love it out there.
  12. You know me from realgm.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif Just so I know, who are you on there? Edit: Just looked at your name closer. You gotta be Ayt.
  13. Yep, I feel exactly the same way. It also doesn't help Parra's case that he's never pitched 140 innings in a year. I'm not quite ready to give a guy a spot in the starting rotation given that fact.
  14. Does he? The past three years he's had SLG% of .431, .401 and .543. Hall's have been .495, .553, .425.
  15. Wow that would be absolutely horrible for us. What do the Rangers think Blalock is actually good?
  16. The only value Gwynn would bring starting is his defense in CF and your friend wants to move him to the easiest defensive position on the diamond making him worth nothing?
  17. Yeah it's actually worse. Bedard has had Tommy John surgery and has never pitched 200 innings in the majors.
  18. If they threw in a pitching prospect as well I'd do the Sheets trade with us throwing something back their way.
  19. Not really sure how I would feel about Blalock, his defense would be an upgrade over Braun no doubt but he was Kevin Mench home/away splits and would need to be platooned because he can't hit lefties. I would hope we would look for something better first.
  20. Not if we have to trade one of Hart or Weeks plus Parra and Escobar which we will.
  21. So they trade their best pitcher for two players coming off down years and two players who suck. Teams don't trade quality for quantity.
  22. I don't think the Brewers could get a couple of top youngsters for Sheets though. Think about it, this is the third year in a row he hasn't pitched an entire season due to injury. I know it's not arm problems and stuff but he was still hurt and that's going to turn a lot of teams off. Second he's in the last year of his contract. Now a team may be willing to give up quality players if they have a window to negotiate with Sheets but I don't think you're going to get a couple of top youngsters on those two reasons alone.
  23. I would say mace. Either the spray or the club. Both should work just fine.
  24. I would still prefer Rolen but he wouldn't be a bad alternative.
