  1. Soriano 17 mil CHC...that's my guess. I'm winning.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. Good job reilly. The question is are the Mariners going to want something more than Jenkins, Clark, Turnbow or Koskie for him for the reasons you stated? He still is young as you stated and he didn't put up terrible numbers this year and still is a good defender.
  3. Still don't like the trade. We give up too much for what will most likely be a one year rental. And even if he isn't a one year rental we're going to have to give him a boatload of money making it harder to re-sign Weeks, Fielder, Sheets, Capuano, Hall etc.
  4. It doesn't if we move those two for Beltre. Jenkins makes $7M next year and Davis will most likely make $5-6M. For a total of $12-13M for one year. Beltre makes $11.5M in 2007, $12M in 2008 and $12M in 2009. Beltre only had a .793 OPS this year, Jenkins .791. Beltre's career OPS is .785, Jenkins .849. Sorry no Beltre he is in no way worth his contract. And Koskie is better too. He had an .833 OPS last year before he got hurt and has a career .825 OPS and will cost us only $2M.
  5. We traded Villy in your trade, it has to be someone else. So we have two rookies in the starting rotation and if we lose Wells to free agency after the year we give up a young pitcher who has good potential, one of the better young shortstops in the game and a solid, durable 4/5 starter for a couple of draft picks. That is why this deal would be terrible.
  6. No, he had one good year (contract year surprise, surprise) and cashed in big time. I wouldn't trade anyone on our roster for him.
  7. I highly doubt that. Hey I like Hardy but if we could get Alex Rios for him I'd trade him and keep Hall at SS. The guy hit .302 this year and is only 25. If we could get him he'd be our right fielder for years to come. And who cares about his stolen bases? He has good power and plays good defense. .302/.349/.516/.865/17 HR's/82 RBI's/35 BB's/89 K's in 450 AB's isn't good enough?
  8. What would it take to get him from the Bluejays? He'd be a great addition for the Brewers imo. My guess is probably Hardy and Davis for Rios and someone else.
  9. It looks like the White Sox are going to trade Jon Garland...most likely to the Rangers. Link
  10. If we can't work out an extension before he gets traded then I don't want Wells.
  11. So we trade a young SS, a good pitching prospect and a solid 4/5 major league starting for a one year rental at CF?
  12. So who is our CF for the future?
  13. So I saw his .239 batting average in August and naturally assumed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif I wouldn't be opposed to Thames but he's still cheap and we'd probably have to offer a little more than Jenkins to get him. He also strikes out a lot so he's basically a cheaper Jenkins batting right handed.
  14. I understand that Lind isn't a centerfielder but they could be losing a lot of power if Wells leaves after 2007. I think Lind would be counted on for power if Wells does leave. I do think Hardy will be the starting shortstop in 2007 and depending on how Perez is doing in the minors and how Hardy comes back from injury I could see Hardy being traded during the season.
  15. $15 million per year for him? Yikes.
  16. I don't see them having interest in Jenkins unless they trade a couple outfielders. Now they have Thames, Ordonez, Monroe, Granderson and Sheffield. Giving them Jenkins for Thames doesn't really solve anything for them except a left handed bat. And Thames was bad for about 3 months. April-June .304/.377/.646/1.023/16 HR's/32 RBI's/18 BB's/43 K's in 181 AB's July-September .204/.293/.443/.736/10 HR's/28 RBI's/19 BB's/49 K's in 167 AB's
  17. I'm sure we could get Papelbon from Boston or Halladay from Toronto if we offered Hardy. Seriously though the only way Hardy has value right now is due to his youth. Would it be a better idea to let him start the season at SS and see if he can get a little more value and then trade him? I also think if we traded him to Boston we could get a little more than Crisp. Both are coming off injuries, Crisp makes more money and Crisp is older. I do like Crisp though and I think he would be a good addition to the team. I also like Lind but I don't know if they would give him up due to Wells' impending free agency.
  18. I was looking at a Mets fans blog and one comment regarding Mench was. We can only hope that this guy is Omar Minaya.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. I'd prefer Westbrook to Lee. Only downside is Westbrook is a FA after 2007. I'd assume they'd want a major leaguer (perhaps Jenkins) to platoon in their outfield and they'd probably want a pitching prospect.
  20. This I the only trade that sends Lopez to the Brewers that I would be okay with.
  21. Yeah I'd rather just stand pat if these are the guys we're going to be going after.
  22. I'd pass on Rowand imo he's not that good.
  23. So then they have a Jones/Murton/Drew outfield? What next they try to sign Soriano to play 2B?
