    Yeah let's just keep signing Craig Counsell type free agents. These numbers would look fine in the leadoff spot. Past 3 years averaged: .284/.351/.405/.756/8 HR's/56 RBI's/51 BB's/85 K's/28 SB's/8 CS. Gives us speed at the top of the order and allows us to move Weeks down in the order.

    If we could get a pitcher the caliber of Garcia or Buehrle for Jenkins I'd be ecstatic.

    I'd love to get Lugo. I'd offer 5 years to get him here. He would solve our leadoff and speed problem.

    Aren't we always talking about how we need power here? So we trade Hall who hit 35 HR's for Wells who hit 32 AND is a free agent after the season. That sounds like filling the CF hole and creating a hole wherever Hall would play. Yeah I love this lineup. Weeks Hardy Fielder Wells Koskie Hart Jenkins Estrada Compared to Weeks Hardy Fielder Hall Koskie Hart Jenkins Estrada Does that make the Brewers any BETTER? No what it does is creates a hell of a problem if you pay $17 million to Wells or have him leave via free agency. So if he leaves we would've traded Hall for draft picks. What a smart move that would be. Now Glaus has a full no trade clause for the remainder of his contract so let's just forget about that trade. And Hardy for McGowan doesn't make sense either. McGowan has had mediocre numbers in the minors and is OLDER than Hardy.

    None of these deals make any sense for us. Hardy is younger than McGowan and has at least a LITTLE bit of success in the majors, can't say that about McGowan. I wouldn't trade Hall for Glaus and McGowan and we have to add Jenkins too? Glaus is 4 years older than Hall and Hall's OPS is 30 points higher. The last deal is terrible too. Just fill one hole to make another. Add that to the fact that we would have to give Wells a TON of money or risk having him walk at the end of the year.

    Also for comparison. Holliday away from Coors. .280/.333/.485/.818 There's no way in hell Holliday is worth Hall and you want to add Jenkins and Miller?

    Lester has cancer. I think it's probably important for him to beat that before he thinks about coming back and playing baseball.
