I think the point that some (including me) are making is that NO team should be panicking right now. This isn't NBA free agency that last 2 days and its over.
i went yesterday and they have a very nice selection of hoodies. 60-80 bucks for most. I have a facebook friend that went to name of the game yesterday and he was told that the new logo stuff is exclusive to miller park until December, so it about a week you will start seeing stuff in the stores.
I personally think the brewers matched the average yearly value but not the years, but again no way to know for sure. I think he was pretty clear he wasn’t taking a pay cut for security or else he would have been a met.
I think everyone here is freaking out for no reason. Ownership said on Monday said that the release of the new logo was supposed to coincide with the club winning again, but it just so happened that the they were ahead of schedule on the baseball side. I have no reason to believe that they are going to go cheap and put a subpar team on the field next season.
I question perfection. Now you have 2 division winners playing a 1 game playoff to try to get into the DS. I am not a fan of a one game series, but atleast its between the 2 wild card teams only.
The closest minor league team to Orlando is Florida Fire Frogs, which the brewers did affiliate with when they were Brevard County. Looking up attendance numbers its 327 fans a game in 2019, 2nd last in the FSL. Issue should be dead. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=l_att&lid=123&sid=l123
Marquette is a team that will put up alot of 3's. That seems to be it. They have been a team that does alot of things well but nothing great. Maybe not as much this season with the loss of Hauer boys and Rowsey also.
Bumping this. Marquette landed Dawson Garcia, a top 50 recruit, giving them the #7 2020 class in the country. https://247sports.com/Season/2020-Basketball/CompositeTeamRankings/ Alot has been made from UW's class but atleast accoridng to these rankings all 3 of MU's recuirts are higher ranked than the Badgers top recruit. Maybe Marquette won't take much of a hit loosing Howard next season.
Agreed, but if MLB wants to do it, wouldn't they rather put a team in Vegas or Nashville. There are other options like Charlotte, Portland, Montreal, and San Antonio but I see similar issues to them as Orlando.
I must say, that I am against any MLB expansion. MLB doesn't have enough pitchers for 30 teams, much less 31 (and more likely 32). I am more posting this, for the absurdity of their logo. https://orlandodreamers.com/. If you are launching an initiative to add baseball to your comminity, could you atleast hire a graphic designer to come up with something that doesn't look like your 12 year old grandson did it with clipart from Microsoft powerpoint. Better to have nothing.
I saw this review Jim and thought of your post instantly, I am sure you will love it https://radiomilwaukee.org/story/arts-culture/grading-the-brewers-new-logos-and-uniforms/ (they wouldn't do it if it didn't' work on some people) Personally I agree with you, not every color and part of the logo needs to mean something. We all know they changed the logo up just a little to try to get people to not just keep on wearing the stuff they already bought and that is valid. The brewers are spending alot of money to make this change, including updating every sign at miller park and just paying the fees for the company they hired to make the change. I also wonder if MLB get a cut, similar to a franchise relocation fee.
there is a big difference between a bunch of fans on a message board debating if he should return / who should be the new SS and the team indicating at all that he will not.
I didn't know that was in question, and modeling a jersey is hardly job security. I remember when the bucks traded Andrew Bogut a month before his bobblehead game, when they had 15,000 of them sitting in the BC.
there are some jerseys and tshirts on brewers.com. the team store is open and fully stocked. Not sure when things will make it to Kohls and other places, but I bet something will be there before next Friday.
Lukas does have a point on some of the fonts, mainly the A and the U. The script milwaukee reminds me of Milwaukee Tool. Yes I would have preferred a font that was less blocky, but thats so nick picky.
Yes the bucks did take some elements from the brewers like the state logo. I was more referring to the block letter and the ball logo. It’s a Much cleaner look than the big script of the last set.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cream_City_brick Thanks. Meh, now I like it even less. I hope that logo disappears over the years. Just not very interesting. You hate it more because it honors part of the cities history? Seems like an odd reaction. But can’t tell you how to feel
Brewers really mimicked what the bucks did. Simple block lettering. Bucks have a ball logo and a state one. Incorporated cream. I think they saw the bucks success and followed it.
