  1. My only gripe is the odd looking barrel man, some of you guys are hard to please
  2. If they went full powder blue yes, but if they did something like the royals, I think it would look nice http://news.sportslogos.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/royals-2012.jpg I LOVE different. Every team pretty much sticks to the same color template. A large majority of teams have blue as their primary color, just like the brewers. Anything to stand out from the crowd gets a thumbs up in my book. Thats why i was a fan of the gold uniforms.
  3. WTP that would be awesome. I still have to think they will have a navy alternate, which is fine, as long as its not their go to like in years past.
  4. Drew also alluded to cream colored jerseys a while back. I could see them going with 5 (white, cream, grey, navy, and powder blue)
  5. [quote name="twofistedslopper" I guess my point is that if there weren't any leaks' date=' would any of us expect a rebrand announcement tonight? Seems odd how little they've done to hype the announcement.[/quote] Yeah if it wasn't for the leaks it would probably be assumed it just announcing the new name of the stadium or maybe just unveiling a 50th anniversary patch. I made the the assumption that the re-branding would happen in 2021 to coincide with the park name change.
  6. the padres hyped the brown is back for weeks, but you are right it is rare to do that.
  7. Well when the diamondbacks did their new uniforms there was zero buildup or prior announcement.
  8. I think Monday, but nothing official from the team.
  9. Lane is moving to 1st. I wonder who would be handling IF coach duties.
  10. bigger story is that the link seems to indicate that Lane COULD move to 1st base coach.
  11. Unless you are just mad that they changed the logo at all, I don’t see how they can mess this up. Based on what was leaked it seems like they updated their uniforms from 82. Maybe your definition of messing up is different than mine, but I think a case of a mess up is the pistons to take their classic bad boys uniforms and changed it to whatever they was that grant hill wore. I think this is like the name change from miller to American family. Everyone was up in arms when it was announced and now it is rarely talked about.
  12. Padres unveiled their new uniforms tonight, I think they successfully did what I Hope the brewers will do. didn’t go full throwback but honored their past nicely. I do think pinstripes on the road uniforms is questionable though.
  13. He may be worth that. He was pretty good for the giants once he got moved to the pen and was great for us. He isn’t that old where it’s a massive risk. Also I think Pomeranz and moose are way more likely to be back than grandal.
  14. Ok, sounds like the font wasn’t clear anyway and it’s exactly what I was expecting. Thanks for the info
  15. If Drew Olson is correct, cream alternates would be awesome. They would look way better than those yellows from a few seasons back. I did have some hope that they would have cream homes similar to what the giants do, but that doesn’t appear to be happening.
  16. That’s what I was expecting, would be interested to see the font. I don’t know the answer but can you post a screenshot here?
  17. I think they are way too far into the process to make changes. I am sure all of the new merchandise is printed and sitting at Miller Park now. Its not changing. Also I don't get the backlash, minus that it is a little different that it was before. I would argue it now looks more like a glove without the white void between the m&B. I just think it looks different than what we have been used to for 30-40 years. In a year, I think its a non story. Also all of this backlash is from 2 groups (you are living in the past by having an old logo and you ruined the best logo in baseball by making changes). Its probably true that right now that more than half of brewer fans fit into these groups so you are going to get backlash. you can't please everyone.
  18. Laura you are right, without a tweak, people wouldn’t need to buy new shirts and hats since they logo was introduced a few seasons back.
  19. And it’s gone. Brewers took it off the site. Did someone get a screenshot?
  20. OK, I think you both have made your point very clear.
  21. This does make sense, since they have been selling basically the retro logo in the updated color scheme for a few seasons, the increases in sales would not necessarily have been seen since most fans would own stuff with that. By doing this, its more likely that people will want to own something with the updated logo. Yes, fans will still buy the new jerseys, but I'm talking about new sweatshirts, tshirtsl, polos, hats, etc too.
  22. You're right, that flag is pretty horrid. If you're talking about the logo, though .... they changed the seams on the baseball. Whatever. its longer and thinner and looks weird. I'll get used to it and sure nobody will care next time this year but it does look off to me.
  23. all of your points are valid. my reasoning is that attanasio doesn't seem to be the type of owner that wants to prematurely throw in the towel. The last rebuild they did a year late because of this. The brewers have alot of holes, but they should have money to fill them. Probably their biggest issue is that they have few prospects to get players via trade and the brewers don't exactly have enough financial resources to go head to head with the large markets on top free agents. Regarding the rotation, you do have suter, houser, peralta right now. I would think they add one or 2 to that mix.
  24. there is no chance that the brewers rebuild. Hader and Yelich are at the top of their positions on reasonable salaries. The brewes will find a new 1st baseman and one has to believe that Stearns thinks he can do better, because the option was reasonable IMO. The Thames signing was out of the blue when this board was trying to figure out who would be our 1st baseman. I think history repeats itself.
