  1. I don't disagree with you, I just said that if they did do it, i wouldn't be upset, but i wouldn't be happy. If he signs with boston or philly, It wouldn't concern me. I think Johnson is a meh at 38. He was MVP of a 3 on 3 league where he was one of the younger guys out there and that apparently is giving him another opportunity to play. good for him, but it doesn't really excite me. This is for the 14th or 15th man on the roster, doesn't concern me much.
  2. I’m happy they got Lazard onto the practice squad.
  3. Like the moves today but not sure why the 3 dfa’s weren’t done sooner.
  4. I think they will do some additional tinkering. They had 15.2 million of cap space as of Tuesday https://www.profootballrumors.com/2019/08/colts-texans-browns-lead-nfl-in-cap-space?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook
  5. Hopefully he is candidate to be added to the 53 once ESB goes on the IR.
  6. I heard hoyer linked to colts and Broncos, nothing about Green Bay yet
  7. Brian hoyer was released today, I’d take him over what the packers have now. Edit- hogan cut by broncos another preferred option imo. I like Boyle but I’d feel better if a vet was 2 and Boyle was 3. Also odd that Wilkins hasn’t been cut yet, especially before kizer.
  8. if the packers think they can stash boyle on the PS, I'm fine with that. They got burnt when they tried to do that with Hill a few years back. I agree on the shepherd fumble may have hurt him, but its one play. Davis has had a decent preseason too, so it will be interesting to see if that helps his cause or if his injury history does him in. If Davis does get cut, I do think Shepherd will get a chance to return kicks. If Davis makes the team, than his fate is sealed. Lazard is a guy I think you need to figure out how to keep. I'm just concerned if you do keep ESB on the 53 to put him on the IR designated to return tag, you may lose him.
  9. I think there won't be too many surprises tomorrow. just some predictions 1) packers keep 3 QB's 2) packers choose Dexter Williams as the 3rd string 3) ESB and Davis cut for Lazard and Shepherd. 4) Packers keep 1 FB 5) Packers trade Ficken before saturday afternoon to bears i don't think there is too much up in the air defensively or the OL.
  10. they have a full roster, I guess if you want to release bender to sign johnson you can never have enough shooters. one is cold, bring in a new one. at 38, who knows what he has left in the tank though. i'm a meh.
  11. the brewers have 2 solid pieces of their lineup coming back next season guaranteed, and he is one of them with 5 years of control. he is as close to untouchable as one can be.
  12. minus the white on white
  13. I did check I was wrong on this, so I’m assuming anyone on the 40 is fair game
  14. Spangenberg took the spot. Yes on the 40 but they are one short on the 25. I didn’t realize the 40 was full again though.
  15. Only being able to expand to 28 makes things interesting. Brewers already said gamel will be one, there are some options for the other 2. I’ll predict Nelson and Black. (Suter coming up before 9-1)

  18. It’s odd to not announce the corresponding move. I assumed this meant probably suter. Frees up a 40 for sept 1, hopefully for barker?

  21. agreed, why they didn't try to get anyone better than Kizer is beyond me. I believe that they did try to trade up for Lock in April, but if you have to throw in a rookie QB into emergency duty, you are also asking for trouble. My defense for keeping 3 is that you can teach these guys your system, rather than signing the Brock Lobster in week 4 and giving him a crash course in your offense and expect him to help. I never said that I think Boyle and Kizer should be the backups, I do think you need to keep 3 and figure out a way to make it work. It was only in the last few years that teams started only carrying 2, up until the early 10's every team had a 3rd stringer on the roster, teams just figured they valued that spot to get someone to help on Special teams or add another player who can help you, which I get. QB's seem to be going down at a much faster rate than back them and you need to account for that.
  22. in 2017, the packers only had rogers and hundly on their roster, when A-Rod went down the team had to resign Callahan whom was one of the final roster cuts. I believe there was some issues in 2013 when Tolzien, Rodgers and Wallace all went down, but I give you that was a freak year. The issue with keep 2, is that if you starter goes down, you are rushing around during the week to get a backup, unless you have a practice squad one you are comfortable with promoting to the main roster. I'll give you, that if A-Rod goes down, it doesn't matter if you start Kizer or Boyle, its going to be hard to win many games with either, so you might as well put as much talent on the roster as you can.
  23. don't they have to keep 3? With how many QB's that get injured, I think every team has to keep 3 and not just put one a practice squad like they used to. look how many times recently, the packers got bit by cutting their 3rd only to be picked up on waivers before they could put them on the practice squad (anybody not prefer Hill over Boyle / Kizer to backup?) (unless there is a better option on the WW AND i would add Wilkins to the practice squad as well.
  24. I don't know how you can take anything from this game. Did he have a good game, against nobodies on a short field. same with Boyle. Next week is going to be pivotal for a lot of people.
