  1. To be honest, with the team doing well on the field and the brewers having a low pick, I have really not been up on this draft. That being said, I did try to do some research over the weekend so I atleast have an idea of who they could take at 28. I'll predict Greg Jones from UNC-Wilmington. DS has a type and he definitely fills it and will probably be taken around 23-29. That being said I did like what other posters said about Lugo and would like that pick too.
  2. I have Brogdon, Middleton, Lopez and Hill. I didn't realize Middleton was only 27. Lopez really fills a need on this team and is only 31. Hill is 33 and while was clutch in the playoffs and down the stretch, the bucks really need Brodgon and Bledsoe to step up into that role. I see a huge payday for Lopez. He is a big guy who can shoot 3's and isn't a pushover inside. There is a value in that. Someone will give him a big deal so the MLE is not really in play IMO.
  3. I'm all for taking a bat, and getting pitching later. DS has drafted Middle Infielders and CF's exclusively in the 1st. I wouldn't be shocked if they do this again. This draft will be interesting with the low bonus pool and surrendering 2 early picks, it makes it harder to above slot players early and low ceiling guys in round 5-10.
  4. i HATE this about the NBA draft. Brodgon fell in the draft, because he actually stayed in school 4 years. If a player can play, he can play. In fact, players like Dawkins are actually ready to contribute on the NBA level rather than these projects that need 2-3 seasons before they do anything. In my initial post, I suggested Cam Johnson and Ty Jerome, who are older players and will fall simply because they have less upside than other players who haven't done nearly as much in college. The bucks are in WIN NOW mode, not in build for the future. I would hate a draft and stash player at 30. I want someone who can help now.
  5. Happ isn't an NBA player, thats wasn't my point. My point is that these are players that bounce between the D-League and warming the bench in the NBA. Collins from the bucks is the only player that I know played much at all last season and thats only because its the team I follow. https://gleague.nba.com/twowayplayers/
  6. I think its pretty well known that I am no fan of the UW program, but if the bucks want to give these guys 2 way contracts, I do not care. They are for little money and they are easy to get out from under and you move on to the next one. I'm pretty sure that the 2 guys the bucks originally signed 2 way contracts with was not the team before the bucks broke camp (and maybe even before they began camp)
  7. I’d prefer to trade for a vet than draft and stash, if someone helpful is made available
  8. Yep. In fact I would argue this is now a bigger PR disaster for Wisconsin BB than Marquette. The fact that they split up rather than go to Wisconsin...yikes. I don't think its much of a PR nightmare for MU. I think fans know whats up. They didn't want to play with Howard and chose to transfer. I think its very likely they stay if Howard declared. * i am not saying that this doesn't suck for Marquette. They could have been one of the better teams in the country with them and now will be at best a fringe tourney team.
  9. its funny how much Badgers fans wanted them, and now that they didn't get them, its not a "big deal" because they were nothing special at Marquette. Sam was MU's 2nd best player and Joey did win a few freshmen of the year awards in the BE. I think its true that UW was the favorite to get them so they could stay close to home and play together. The fact that they got neither and they split up, is a indication of where the UW program is and is on Gard.
  10. I like your thinking, Porter could develop into a stretch 5, and end up being a Brook Lopez type player.
  11. With the season for the bucks ending, i think its finally appropriate to start figuring out what they are going to do with the 30th pick. My favorite possible selection is Cameron Johnson from NC. Not much upside, but he can shoot which the bucks proved they could use another one. Other possibilities in order: 2) Ty Jerome , PG UVA, again not much of a project but would fill in nicely if Brodgon leaves in FA. 3) Amir Hinton, SG Shaw This pick is as crazy as when the bucks took Thon Maker at 10. He isn't really on any draft board but I did read that the bucks are scouting him and some compared his game to Wade. This would be the pick if the bucks want to buy a lottery ticket to see if they can get a superstar that they develop.
  12. Very interesting reports on the hausers. Shocked that they are splitting. Was hoping they would both go to Virginia since I’m honestly not a fan of either the badger or Michigan state program and realized that Iowa was not going to happen as a school in their top 4
  13. or just not reading the thread through. great minds think alike.
  14. In 2001 the Eastern Conference Semi's between the bucks and hornets played out exactly like this series so far. Bucks won games one and two at the BC, lost the next 2 on the road and lost game 5 at home. Obviously though the 6th seeded Hornets were not as much of a threat as the #2 seeded Raptors, but this years bucks are better than the 00-01 team. The Raptors defense has been impressive to watch so far and they have always seemed to make a shot when needed, but I still hold out some hope. It does seem that the bucks have put 100% effort in all season to win 60 games, while teams like the warriors were on cruise control knowing that the real season starts in the playoffs. The physicality of these games may have worn on a team like Milwaukee with limited playoff experience. No matter what happens this is going to be a good experience for them for next season.
  15. just as in game 1, the bucks played horribly, but this time they lost, but the Raptors really extended themselves to get the win. Leonard had to play 53 minutes on a bad knee. I expected the bucks to lose last night and win tomorrow and thursday. vegas did too, bucks were +3 last night and are -2.5 tomorrow. I would expect the bucks to play much better tomorrow, just like they did in game 2 after 3 quarters of a bad game in game 1.
  16. well this was the point of the trade, he had no options and nowhere to play in Milwaukee. The fact that they got a guy who was expected to contribute in the pen for him was pretty darn good.
  17. i didn't mean that the pace of play will stop to a snail's pace, but this team will have more of a defensive idenity rather than a 3point shooting one. Besides Howard, there really isn't a great shooter on this team.
  18. I think they will be competitive. the big east will likely be down again this year. Getting Elliot back is huge and all reports on McEwen are positive. Yes the team will play a different style and may look closer to a UW team than the normal Marquette team, but there is no reason to think the team won't be competitive in the BE.
  19. found this article today, https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2836391-lights-camera-amir-hinton considering that the bucks will be picking at the end of the first round and odds are pretty good that they will not be picking next season (any pick between 8-30 will be sent to Phoenix), a massive project like this may be worth it, even though it would be a reach.
  20. he wore 18 in San Antonio which is available.Sounds like #18 is indeed going to be his MLB number. if you ask who is the first player that comes to mind, Milwaukee Brewers #18, I say Jose Hernandez. Hopefully he changes this.
  21. he wore 18 in San Antonio which is available.
  22. if he struggles, he can go back to triple A to get more seasoning. still its probably good for him to see some mlb pitching. i would be surprised if he doesn't get called down at some point, unless he does crush it and gives the brewers no choice. in the meantime i'm going to enjoy seeing him up here.
  23. anyone smarter than me know if this affects his super 2 status?
  24. Well the brewers know that Freddy isn't going 9 tonight, so what is wrong with starting whoever was going to follow Freddy if it improves his chances for success?
