  1. 100% agreed and spot on. they have so many bad contracts they are stuck. its just too bad that they have struck out on so many 1st round picks of late, because that is the only way you can you make up for so many dead weight contracts.
  2. signing Ersan is the ultimate C move. probably makes the team marginally better and the money isn't obnoxious, but no bucks fan should be excited for the move.
  3. I agree, it’s a free second round pick at a position of need.
  4. Id love to know who you are referring to. There was maybe 2 players I would have preferred (Holliday, Huerter), but I like the pick.
  5. I'm fully prepared to be disappointed on Thursday (hopefully not as much as last season), but I decided that I want DiVincenzo, Huerter, and K. Thomas in that order, unless Robert Williams somehow falls.
  6. Why is it when the brewers trade spare parts to get something that they need, some people here freak. Yes Choi has had some big moments, but he is only batting .233 and 2 organizations gave up on him after 1 season. Miller may or may not be able to help the big league club, but I’m pretty confident in saying we won’t be regretting this trade a year from now.
  7. much too early to tell. they could pay slightly overslot and draft below slot with 7-10. seems like he was drafted where he was supposed to, so I am not sure why he would go to college.
  8. bleacher report gave the pick an A- only because the brewers have Arcia which is silly because you can never have enough talent up the middle and by the time Turang is ready to be called up, Arcia will be hitting the end of his arby years and the brewers can make a decision.
  9. its how the cubs got to where they are. much less riskier to go after a bat than an arm. Im OK with this. Haven't had a pitcher work out in the first round since Jeffress.
  10. Larnach was a player I thought could go to the crew. I really want McCanahan now.
  11. he was born to be a brewer, plus if they can save some pool money in the process I am all for this.
  12. The player i would like most is Robert Williams, unfortunately I think that the bucks pick a few picks too late to get him. So the players I am looking at are Khyri Thomas or Gary Trent Jr In addition to DiVincenzo. Id probably prefer the 2 big east guys. There 2 biggest needs are a shooter and a big. Since I don't see a good option at the 5, I really hope they look long and hard at a shooter.
  13. I'm late to the game, but this is the best hire since Karl, who was hired 20 years ago. The bucks had to go into the new arena with a big hire. Also Bud will (most likely) be the coach through Giannis' remaining contract years. This is why this is HUGE. You need a guy that can get every bit out of every player as well as someone that free agents will want to play for. I think the bucks did that. While there were some assistants that I liked like Nurse or Messina out there, thats a hard sell for where the team is. No other retreads really appealed to me. They had to hit a homer and they did.
  14. after reading up on what was done, overall I am happy. I wish they would have addressed the TE position, but i love that they got 2 huge WR's early on Saturday. My only concern on alexander is his health. I think he is tall enough to play the position but he needs to stay healthy. Johnson made the draft, I wanted him at 18 and to get him in the 2nd was awesome. some are questioning drafting the long snapper and punter, but hopefully this adds some stability to those 2 positions. Its been musical punters forever and the LS has been in peril for 2-3 years. using compensatory picks to do that doesn't bother me.
  15. Alexander is a great pick and if there wasn’t an injury concern he wouldn’t have been around at 18. I wanted josh Jackson or Landry, but since they weren’t taken in the top 30, maybe there was a reason neither were the packers pick Completely fleeced the saints, love that trade.
  16. Joshua Jackson has been my guy since January, so I’m still hoping he is the pick. Reviewing some mock drafts, it looks like guys I’d though would be gone by 14 will be around like Fitzpatrick. I think we will get a good defensive player at 14. I will be upset if they move up because I think a good player will be there at 14 and personally the only player on defense that is far away better than what will be there is Chubb and maybe ward from ohio state. If you can get a jackson, Fitzpatrick, or Alexander I don’t think it’s worth giving up your #2 and maybe additions picks.
  17. YES you do. The key to winning in the draft is getting as many picks as possible since each pick is a crap shoot. New England seems to understand this as well as Thompson did, so I doubt that call is made though
  18. The 3 players I am looking at for 14 is Jackson, Davenport, or Landry. I'd be happy with anyone. I think the wild card is Ridley.
  19. Id Keep Hader in his current role and give the full time closer job to Albers.
  20. Im OK with it (in the past I wouldn't be), there is a model for this in Hader and it worked fine.
  21. agreed, they don't even nee a 5th starter until the 8th game, I think Suter will be the 4th. Also I would feel pretty confident that one player on the opening day roster isn't in the organization right now. The brewers took a waiver on Miley and he was good minus one outing, lets see how it plays out.
  22. I agree, I don't think there is no way the brewers sign Cain unless they think they could trade an Outfielder or 2 for a SP. Braun to 1st base isn't happening I think, so they really are in a pickle. I agree with 82brew, Boomer5, and patrickgpe. Something has got to give. Maybe they trade Aguilar, maybe they trade Thames, maybe they trade Santana. Phlliips and Broxton can go to AAA, but I think one of Thames, Aguilar or Santana has to go. Just no roster space for all these guys. Well I think they would like to trade Santana and Broxton, let Braun play in right and let Thames and Aguilar play 1st. The issue is that GM's know that the brewers need to do something and I can't see them getting equal return back. Phillips is a great 4th OF, Broxton would be a fine backup too, but I can't see Santana in AAA or on the bench and Braun already has expressed his displeasure of playing 1st base, so I can't see him not not being in the OF on opening day.
