First of all, the obvious comment is that there will never be another Bob Uecker in Milwaukee. Franchises like the Dodgers, Tigers, Cubs, Cardinals that have there one legendary broadcaster are lucky, because its a rarity these days. Since I didn't have cable until I was in college and TV games on Ch 18 were far and few between, Bob Uecker was how I consumed baseball as a kid and learned to love this team and game. Obviously summers will never be the same and really the last part of my childhood is gone today.
Uecker cutting down his schedule significantly, lessens the blow from a gameday standpoint as we have been accolated with Levering and Grindle and to a lesser extent Mauer. It would be very hard to have a fresh play by play guy to come in and work a full 162 games.
Its just a sad day, that we all knew was coming, but that doesn't make it any easier.
