  1. It seems like a weak draft. what I don't want is for the bucks to trade a future 1st to get into the first tonight.
  2. Gery Woefel (not sure how dialed in he is anymore) was on WSSP and said he hasn't heard the bucks to be active in any trade talks.
  3. @LouisEly @nate82 I was mistaken. #22 and #0 are not getting retired, but rather their jerseys are. Marquette no longer retires numbers for anyone.
  4. for college it is silly. Its a little easier to do now that 6-9 can be used, but when all numbers were between 0-5, its easy to run out. I get retiring the jersey of pro's that made the HOF. What the bucks did under Kohl was silly with regards to retiring numbers. Both players had great Marquette careers, despite not doing much after. They should be recognized. I tend to agree with you that jersey retirement may be a little much.
  5. McNeal and Howard are getting their numbers retired next season. Well deserved, not great pros but they made their mark on Marquette's program. Crean will be recognized as well. I do wonder how far jersey retirements will go. Kolek would deserve it then as well.
  6. I hope this is true
  7. Konan-Niederhauser seems like a big that could fall as seniors typically do in drafts these days, in addition to the players above that I’d like. The do need a big as well.
  8. I agree it doesn’t matter, but did you see what they allegedly asked from the spurs. Players and 10 firsts.
  9. The cost would be much more. One first and a few 2nds is not enough draft capital. Brooks and Green are nice players but Giannis in his prime is worth way more than that. the grizzlies got more for bane than this.
  10. @Jopal78I think of it more than utilizing extra resources for a need. Quintana won't be back in 2026. If the can get a hitter for him, I don't see that as bad when there are options to replace him.
  11. If there is no room for Logan, than there isn't for Tobias. Plus Murphy is clearly not a fan of his work.
  12. Draft is in 8 days, bucks pick 47th. I don't see how they can take a project again. Last year they could have taken Dunn in the 1st and Kolek in the 2nd. Both would have helped last season and could have been key contributors of the bench this year. Looking at mocks, I do like Kam as a 3pt shooter off of the bench this year. More possibilities are Nembhard and Brea. I do like RJ Luis, but his jump shot isn't where the other 3 are.
  13. Exactly that was my point of this thread. I started this before the civale trade. If they traded Patrick the return has to be more than a rental. I think trading Quintana makes sense and then Henderson can have his spot.
  14. My point is exactly that, trade the bottom guys in the rotation for rentals. They have young guys close and they have young starters in triple a that are ready. The civale trade didn’t accomplish my goal, not that I was expecting it to. Do you think the team wouldn’t be better off if they traded Quintana to make way for Henderson? Patrick is a different case because of how much control he has, you can’t trade a rental for him. demoting civale did decrease his value because it was in the brewers best interest to move him asap, I bet you that if civale pitches better or as well as he pitched here, the Sox will flip for better value than Vaughn
  15. When i created this thread, my hope was to discuss players that would be rentals for our pitching depth. The Brewers have Pratt, Boeve, and Wilken to help at short and 3rd in the near future, but aren't there yet. I think they can get someone who can help in the short term. Obviously if the brewers have a bad week against the cubs and cards and fall way behind, then there is no point to this exercise.
  16. I do believe Peralta will be traded either at the deadline if they are out of it or in the offseason. That being said, he is worth a decent return of young prospect or 2 with some potential. Civale on the other hand will probably get you a single A pitcher or 2 with some potential.
  17. Civale has requested a trade, but not sure you are getting much back.
  18. i understand your point and I agree with you that dealing a Chad Patrick should get you better than a Jerry Hairston. The point of this thread is that nobody would argue that they don't have an excess of starting pitching nor would anyone argue that their daily lineup could use some help. I do not think its wise to trade anyone of top 30 prospect status for that player. I was just wondering if the brewers could move the bottom of their rotation for a player. The Brewers are not a championship caliber team, but I think they could still be a playoff team but need to improve their lineup to do so.
  19. i would imagine Patrick would warrant more with 5.5 years of control. Again my point was that you should be able to get someone that can play short or 3rd thats not considered a top pickup but would be valuable until a guy like Boeve or Wilken is ready.
  20. The point of my post was to saw we have starters rotting in nashville and left side infielders with negative WAR. Will you get an elite infielder for our depth, no, can you get a guy like when they got Jerry Hairston Jr, I think so. Just looking for a guy that can hit about 250, brewers have prospects almost ready, just need to bridge the gap.
  21. I would be ok with trading Chad Patrick.
  22. Civale and Quintana are definitely expendable. I would think Patrick too. Priester is hard to trade since they gave up so much for him but it seems clear they need to acquire a SS or 3rd baseman for the playoff run and that seems the best way to do it.
  23. thats the frustrating thing. I get they get 17MM extra cap space, but unless they make a trade for Hendrickson and extend him. don't see the point. Yes they can use that money to extend their own, which is nice but that doesn't help in 2025.
  24. that they won't use....
