  1. for whats its worth here is a list of top players available: http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/2016-rule-5-draft-preview/#Zgmf6kWrK4CLRMBp.97 Phillip Evans from the mets seems intriguing
  2. ORPM is offensive rebounds plus minus DRPM is defensive RPM is total rebounds.
  3. Wang wasn't cut he is simply eligible to be taken in next months rule v draft
  4. he was 15, i saw it on twitter but can't remember who tweeted it. I like this move over protecting Wang or Diaz. If he can improve his plate discipline there may be something there. The brewers are in a position to use 40 man roster spots on projects like this. Regarding Roache, Coulter, and Taylor. I just don't see any of the 3 being drafted AND staying on a MLB roster for a full season. wouldn't be surprised to see atleast one drafted though. The whole point of the rule V draft is to give players opportunities that are blocked by their current club. Outfield is the strength of the brewers farm system, so i can't see any of the 3 being up in Milwaukee any time soon.
  5. seems as if Tyrone Taylor is the biggest omission. don't care about Wang being left off.
  6. IF the brewers can snag a top 50 player or 2 top 100's, i'd trade him. History is on the side of him not repeating 2016 next season.
  7. my biggest concern of Marquette was a lack of size and that was exploited last night against Michigan, especially when Fischer sat. also they couldn't defend the 3, way too many open 3's by Michigan also Marquette unveiled a 6th uniform last, while grey looks cool, this is complete overkill. just wish they kept to yellow, navy, and white.
  8. yet its a move that TT typically doesn't make. normally when players go down he fills out the roster with undrafted free agents and practice squad players. Its like he almost has figured out that his job is on the line.
  9. Packers claimed Christine Michael. I love the move and i hope he gets a fair shake at the RB position. Not sure if he is the long term answer but with pretty unimpressive RB performances week after week, lets see what happens.
  10. If Nieuwenhuis took AB's from Santana, why wouldn't Davis?
  11. well in this case and assuming its a reasonable 1 year deal, fine. could be a trade deadline candidate then if he has a good 1st half, maybe fetching a young player. nobody thought the brewers could get anything of value for Aaron Hill so anything is possible.
  12. well i think those rumors were specific to this board, with the theory that the brewers introduced the new alternative jerseys as a trial balloon to see how sales go, to see if they should go back to an updated ball and glove full time. i honestly don't see the motivation by the brewers, by having 5 different sets of regular uniforms, it can only help boost sales.
  13. i see no reason to sign a 36 year old CF to take AB's away from Broxton.
  14. really looking forward to see how Marquette competes with Michigan on Thursday. just checked KenPom's rankings and marquette and michigan are 33 and 34 respectively.
  15. yes but its gives Counsell financial stability and creates the illusion to the players that Counsell isn't going anywhere. Imagine if the brewers get off to a slow start and players know that Counsell is at the end of his deal and is likely to not come back next year, there would be chaos in the locker room.
  16. i do like that they are mixing up their tshirt promotion. The yount bobblehead is pretty cool, other than that meh
  17. dont get me wrong, this is really my only criticism of CC and i am happy he will be leading the rebuild for the foreseeable future.
  18. the two go hand in hand. if Stearns acquires a young player and he rides the bench that is not worrying about the future of the franchise. That being said, Stearns is the one that gave Counsell that toy to play with, so I can see how Counsell will want to put his best lineup out there daily because losing every day sucks. That being said if nieuwenhuis was a 260 hitter and not a 209 hitter, its easier to justify him playing every day over a younger player. but he wasn't that good. This was my point.
  19. i do not agree, his mentality managing is to play to win instead of developing talent. For example why was kirk nieuwenhuis playing every day while Domingo Santana riding the bench, one is not in the long term future of the team and one is a big maybe. I understand you need to play to win, but when a team in rebuilding you need a manager to embrace this while still trying to win.
  20. no but you don't want a lame duck manager.
  21. press conference at noon http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/208632352/craig-counsell-likely-to-sign-extension-today/
  22. Fox has Marquette in the field of 65: http://www.foxsports.com/college-basketball/gallery/2017-bracketology-projecting-the-ncaa-tournament-68-teams-111016
  23. no Dirk, Devin Harris, and Deron Williams tonight and the Mavs are somehow 0-5. better take this one tonight
  24. I said numerous times in this thread, i have no issue with the Snell trade, MCW was a bad fit. I do have an issue with the Beasley trade. I also do not think Ennis was released, just checked the Rockets roster. I was always a fan of him and thought he could be the true PG coming off the bench for 10 minutes. I'd rather have a young player with a huge upside in McCaw than Beasley on the team.
  25. Bragdon was a nice pick still think they are going to regret trading Patrick McCaw on draft night. Could have avoided the Beasley or snell trade.
