  1. Marquette Madness is tonight, so i figured we should get this thread started. Marquette is debuting new uniforms tonight and it appears that they will have the numbers above Marquette and blue and white striped shorts, honoring past uniforms on the 100th anniversary of the program.
  2. i figured that if the brewers were going to spend ~20 million dollars it was with the goal of making more money, which this should do. Will be interesting to see what this does to concession prices Overall I feel ditching palermo's pizza for Zaffiros, more AJ bombers stands and more craft beers enhances the in game experience for me
  3. seems like thats more speculation than linking, but even with his promotion i'm sure he would jump at the opportunity to run his own franchise.
  4. sad day, but he made more than his fair share of dumb trades and everyone has backfired on him. I think the Segura trade was probably his best though.
  5. welcome aboard muddie, we look forward to your first hand accounts, as others said the mudcats should be fun to watch, with low a appleton being a playoff team this season.
  6. finally some good news! i wonder if there was any ownership commitment to this or it was based just on the strength of our system.
  7. this is way worse than the triple A situation because of the number of pro offense stadiums in the california league, you really cannot let your top players only pitch on the road like the brewers can do in Colorado Springs. At the end of the day (and if the rockies do invent in Carolina), this can be blamed on ownership not on Gord (although who am i to tell Mark how to spend his cash)
  8. no surprises here, brewers are stuck with CS for 2 more seasons:
  9. i think of all of the off season trades, this one benefited both teams the most.
  10. I haven't noticed that stand. How is it different? I used that concession stand in early August, the first day it was used. The employee told me that the brewers were testing it out and would add more depending on well it goes. He did mention that so far it wasn't going too well. there was basically some touch screens, you pay with a credit card, and slide down and pick up your food and drink. Personally I didn't see how it served people quicker or how it reduced cost. This was a Tuesday or wednesday evening with a very small attendance and I was the only one in line, so maybe its much more efficient with larger crowds
  11. the casino / hotel won't happen, potowatami is a sponsor of the brewers and is very close to Miller Park anyway. I like the idea of a brewery, but I doubt the brewers would want to promote excess drinking even more than they do now I really don't know what the brewers could do, what would be really cool though is something similar to the packers title town district, but i have no idea where you would put it. I am sure the brewers would love to further make Miller Park a year round destination and that would do it. Like other said, i can't see this investment not being a cash cow for them, especially as they try to make money over these few lean years.
  12. sales pitch should be easy the brewers have a top 2 farm system and had a low A ball make the playoffs last season low A Asheville did make it to the league finals though, so maybe a wash to slightly advantage rockies.
  13. from my point of view, i do not care about the quality of the park, only the fairness of the park and how well the brewers can gauge hitters and pitchers.
  14. there is no blame towards gord on that. I think the frustration is that he was assigned to be in charge of "special projects" which was implied to improve their minor league affiliate outlook and the brewers are on the verge of the worst 2 affiliates in baseball.
  15. It's not a bidding war, the Brewers cannot give any cash to Carolina. I can't speak to what factors besides ownership are involved
  16. Ennis was the only true point on the roster. He had his moments last season when he got to play. Giannis is a point forward and MCW just isn't very good. Ennis was the only player that could feed the ball to the bucks scorers. Personally I would have preferred to let Teletovic, Delly, and Vaughn share the load and keep Ennis, but we shall see.
  17. looks like the answer is Michael Beasley, ugh. sucks to loose Tyler Ennis too
  18. Frankly, at this point I'm quite comfortable with Jeff Levering becoming the main radio guy whenever that becomes necessary. I've steadily warmed up to the Levering/Lane Grindle pairing on Ueckerless road trips. If Lane doesn't become a long-term part of the radio team, I'd be very open to a Levering/Dillard pairing in the booth. However, even if Tim's future does not lie specifically in radio, he surely has a good thing going in social media, and I for one am looking forward to trying to spot him this homestand, starting tonight. How long do you think Rock will be in the TV booth, he could fill in that role. I do like the Levering / Grindle team moving forward, neither has Milwaukee roots though (more so Levering), history says that we will be looking for a replacement within the next 5 years for both.
  19. well there is no good solution remaining, once Rochester reupped with the twins it was pretty apparent we were stuck in CS for 2 years. I think the brewers need to spend 2017 figuirng out how they want to proceed (purchase a high A ball and triple A club, what markets to concentrate on), i know they should have been doing this over the last 2 years, but apparently they didn't.
  20. yeah big loss, its definitely Vaughn to step up. Teletovic is going to get a huge increase of minutes I think and could be a decent fill in.
  21. I think the downside is that you have to run another baseball team. I think Mark has so much on his plate with his LA business and the brewers, does he really want to own a 2nd baseball team? I understand that you hire your staff and you wouldn't be involved on the day to day decisions of the team, but I don't see Mark A being an absent owner in anything he does.
  22. I believe its a 2 way street. For example, it was Nashville that ended the relationship with the brewers, while it was Colorado that ended the relationship with Colorado Springs in 2014
  23. I can't say this is about winning, I think a logical argument that the brewers can make is that since low A made the playoffs the brewers high A team should be decent, no matter what happened over the last few years in BC. I am not sure what more the brewers can do to avoid being the last person at the table every time a PDC expires, besides as others have suggested buying a stake in these teams.
  24. As brewer fans i think we have a different prospective. Minor leagues only care about winning. This has been proven time and time again. In 2000, the Indianapolis Indians went to the triple A world series with a bunch of 4A players, i never much cared because there was no prospects. Im sure those in Indy had a great time. If the brewers had a triple a squad that was winning, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now with the sky sox. Im sure Kissimee would have reupped with us if BC wasn't so horrible. The reason why Toledo hasn't immediately signed on with the tigers is that haven't won for years.
