  1. the brewers and or skysox had to inform mlb that they wish to seek new affiliation by last sunday the 11th i think the 3 open spots right now are tacoma, CS, and toledo. i'm wondering if there is atleast some internal discussion in Toledo about dumping the home town team for the top system in MLB, because there was no point to not renew like most of the other teams have done before the 11th. Still not expecting it, but with every day that passes, i get more hopeful. by the way the brewers announced their new affiliate 2 years ago on september 18th, so we could know this week.
  2. even though i am fully expecting that the brewers are stuck with CS for another 2 years, does anyone know can the brewers start negotiating with Toledo and Lehigh Valley on Monday once the minor league season is over, or is there a date that all of the PDCs expire?
  3. vegas extended with the mets today, so yes you are correct.
  4. Brew4U i know they aren't moving within say 3 hours because it would hurt attendance. You are correct though, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Southern Illionois is perfect for them. Very easy to bring up prospects, possible brewer fans to drive there or a weekend, etc. They have had 2 years to figure out a solution (buying a team like the dodgers model, and haven't, so they will be stuck with a bunch of elite prospects in a horrible environment for 2 more years and then have the rug pulled out from them by the astros, just like in 2014. I really do hope that they use these 2 years to figure out a long term and good solution. For a team whos mission statement is to draft and develop the best and controllable minor league talent, its not ideal to have them in the worst possible enviroment at the tripe A level.
  5. I think the bigger issue would be that they'd be quite a bit further away from the other AAA teams. I don't think proximity to MKE would be an issue at all, I agree it would actually be a positive. Mallards do fairly well here and I think they can support a team. When I looked into it a few weeks ago I ruled it out as a possibility based on the other AAA teams though. not really if they played in the IL, there is already a division of Columbus, Toledo, Indy, and Lousville. Also Iowa has been fine in the PCL even though there are many teams on the west coast.
  6. there explanation was that they wanted to put a winner on the field and the brewers had a few under 500 seasons before the PDC was up for renewel.
  7. side issue and bringing back a past converation, alot of posters responded back to me that Madison would not work as a triple A teamed owned by the brewers because of its proximity to Milwaukee, but toledo / Detroit and Leigh Valley / Philadelphia seem to work great. Seems like it would be the ideal situation because it would be give the brewers the best indication of a players ability in the same climate as Milwaukee. I understand that the odds of contracting a team and Mark A buying one and building a triple A stadium is a pipe dream though. Back on subject, Detroit has been pretty bad at developing players of late and have a pretty bare organization at the higher levels, the fact that Toldeo hasn't re upped like everyone else could mean somethings up, but i doubt it.
  8. this is a good summary of the situation, all of it is posted in this thread but still a decent read. It was noted though that Rochester resigned with the twins last week, leaving vegas and CS as the only options left. http://www.brewcrewball.com/2016/8/24/12592350/colorado-springs-brewers-minor-leagues i have resigned myself to the fact that they aren't going anywhere until 2019
  9. i don't see how that would make a difference. Didn't UW lose baseball because of title 9? UW would have to figure out how to balance the womens program with the addition of new student athletes. I understand that baseball isn't a money maker for UW but with the Big 10 network, i doubt $ is the problem, despite the era UW is in with budget cuts.
  10. reports say that the bucks are close to signing Jason Terry, while i like the veteran leadership he will bring, this probably means that Ray Allen isn't coming home.
  11. he hasn't since 2012
  12. ? they DO have the open roster spot for today. wouldn't you want to have an extra long man just incase, if mlb rules allow you to.
  13. the brewers had a near perfect situation in Nashville (proximity to Milwaukee, new stadium) and the went into another direction because they were not winning. The brewers have really remedied this over the last 2 seasons, and its depressing to think that they are probably down to only 1 city to relocate to and its only slightly better than CS.
  14. Yep.. And that also means the International League. Adios to the hitter friendly Pacific Coast League Keep your fingers crossed this happens... This is the best option I see, Fresno is #2 (I think it's a more fair park than Vegas) While the twins system is ok, with the loss of their GM and the Brewers standing as a top 2 system I'm sure they have to be appealing to the red wings
  15. Rocky Coppinger nickname = jeff "Nuke LaLoosh" Juden
  16. I thought new deals couldn't be signed until the offseason. Meaning any announcement would be about extending a current affiliation. thats not true, the brewers announced affiliation with the sky sox on September 18th, 2014. It would make sense though for it to be just a renewel with the astros.
  17. favorite one not mentioned is Jim Bruske, i'll second joe winkelsas.
  18. i believe they left largely because of a sub par stadium.
  19. i agree, i think Rochester is our best option. The brewers should have an exciting team in triple A next season, that has to be worth something. we lost nashville because we weren't competing, now that we are, we still are getting the bobby prize for affiliates.
  20. he is a free agent at seasons end, at best he will only give us a few wins and a worst pick. would rather let Broxton get a chance to play every day.
  21. here is a current summary of affilates up for renewel, it would appear to me that the brewers are sticking in Colordo Springs http://ballparkdigest.com/200905261902/minor-league-baseball/news/affiliate-dance-2012 Looks to me that the only 3 possible options beside CS is Fresno (Giants), Vegas (Mets), and Rochester (Twins)
  22. interesting to note that he will be named 'medically disabled" and not retire, which means that he gets 100+ million owed to him. sucks to be the rangers.
