  1. i have a feeling that signing Washburn is on par with the contract that was given to Soup 3 years ago. He is another .500 pitcher who had a great season in a free agency year.
  2. I think my entire college years were fueled by coca-cola. I probably drank 100 ounces a day. It really did a number to my teeth which is why i have really cut back. I cannot quit cold turkey though because i get withdraw headaches, but will normally now opt for green or iced tea in the morning.
  3. some stuff i have been listening to lately that is rather new cd's Freelance Whales "Weathervanes" Hockey "Mind Chaos" Florence and the Machine "Lungs" songs fun. "A Least I am not as sad as I used to be" Simian Mobile Disco "Audacity of Huge" The Big Pink "Dominos" The Phenomenal Handclap Band "You'll Disappear" I agree on the XX, very good cd
  4. picking up dj hero tomorrow, anyone else getting it. Definitely will be interesting. Didn't really get into Guitar hero because it seemed too easy and they music was mostly older. The music on this game is much closer to stuff i'd listen too and the controls are much more challenging it appears.
  5. i think its a good hire too, i know things got weird towards the end for the nats but that was an impossible situation for him. This team will struggle at first but he does have the comfort of a 3 year deal. I wonder if he would be the astros manager had they gave him an extra year. I think that is a better situation for him in Houston.
  6. its basicly on par with the brewers signing capuano to a minor league deal, with mulder having a better track record of success. i doubt he would be counted on making a huge impact on the rotation, and anything he gives us is gravy.
  7. a little off subject, for the indians and astros coaching search shows the brewers did the right thing about bringing macha back, there just isn't any really solid candidates out there this year. The fact that the finalists are Acta, Mills, Garner, and Clark shows that.
  8. i agree with most of the sentiment of the board, the games are usually very exciting and therefore i do not care how long they are. I am a baseball fan and enjoy watching good baseball. Besides these last few week are the last meaningful baseball i'll get to see until April.
  9. thanks for sharing but thats pretty lame. Truth be told though there is no much else the bucks could have done. I already have 2 Redd and Bogut bobbles and there really isn't anywhere else the team could go minus doing something on par with the brewers having Jeff Suppan bobblehead day.
  10. i find it weird and backwards that opening night is 2 weeks from tonight and they have yet to announced any promotions. The brewers do a good job of making those dates known early so fans that care can plan for them. The all fan giveaway dates for next season have already been announced. I no longer go to many bucks game but the few games I plan to go to is usually because of a great bargain of a all fan giveaway.
  11. "R is among the most menacing of sounds. That's why it's murrrder and not mukduk." "I will have a spaghetti and a side salad and if the salad is on top i will send it back" I agree with homer, there were a couple of laugh out loud moments, but had a very far fetched story line.
  12. i think because the humor on the show is very dry, its not going to click with everyone and thats why every week there is a mix bag review on this website every friday after a new episode. There has been episodes in the past that i did not find funny that was raved about too.
  13. like usual creed and kevin made the episode. One of the laugh out moments for me was creed grabbing his crotch while walking down the aisle as well as kevin in his toupee and kleenex boxes as shoes. This is one of the episodes that you have to watch 2-3 times to fully appreciate it.
  14. according to Haudricourt, Chuck Hernandez and Bryan Price are also candidates. link I still would prefer Peterson to the others, but would love the idea of Hernandez being the bullpen coach.
  15. i agree the threat of Iran and nukes is the biggest threat to the existence of the planet as of right now.
  16. last season i split a full season OF box so it makes sense to switch to that. Overall I don't mind the brewers increasing ticket prices assuming that the added money goes to improving the product (ie pitching) on the field. Plus for most games there is a way to get in at a discounted rate anyway.
  17. 2010 ticket prices most seats can expect a 1 or 2 dollar increase per ticket. There are still ample opportunities to go at discounted prices though as always so the increases won't hurt that much. I just hope that if the brewers are going to increase prices in a down economy and after a loosing season they make some significant improvements in the offseason with the added money the team made last season and stands to make next.
  18. beat me by a minute, lock please -------------------------------------------------- EDIT: Here's ewizabeff's 2010 ticket prices topic. --1992
  19. tigers finish their choke job and the twins win tomorrow afternoon. ALDS; Yankees in 4, Angels in 5 ALCS Yankees in 6 NLDS Dodgers in 4, Rockies in 5 NLDS Rockies in 7 WS: Yankees in 5. As far as who do i want to win, put a gun to my head i'll say the Rockies. I really just hope for good games and long series.
  20. that i do agree with, the fact that he was forced to start at one point during the year, Seth McClung, Carlos Villaneuva, Mike Burns, and Chris Naverson is an indictment of Melvin and not Macha.
  21. he was awful during his first stint here. Therefore I put little stock in his strong starts to end the year. Now if he has a good spring than he deserves a chance as the brewers really one have 1 left handed starter. If he plays a "McClung type of roll" than i'd be happy.
  22. The closer should be the last piece for a team that's poised to win. The Brewers are far from being in that position. i don't agree with this statement. While I agree that the team needs to improve their rotation and there are some huge question marks regarding their everyday players, having someone who can shut down the door in the 9th is still important. I think most would agree that while the brewers will probably not be a favorite to win the central or get a wild card they are atleast a strong contender. It would be a mistake to let hoffman get away and be forced to make a setup man close. Do you remember the disaster of having Villaneuva close to start the year or a couple years ago when Adams was the brewers closer? Its still a key position. Plus considering how good he was, i was expecting the pay increase to be more than 2 million, so i am happy.
  23. i agree pretendastronaut, i was shocked to see Fischer was invited back as there were numerous times were players were thrown out by atleast 2 steps at homeplate and he held up people that could have scored. Regarding managers, we saw last year that pickings were slim as far as experienced managers. To fire Macha and bring a hot rookie manager doesn't make much sense as the window is closing for the brewers and i don't want the new manager to waste a year learning. We all were fine with Macha until the wheels fell off in the second half. I am not going to let the injuries cloud my judgment of him. I do wish though he was more willing to play the younger players.
  24. didn't really like last night episode much at all. Wasn't really anything that i found terribly amusing. The Dwight and Jim practical joke banter was funny over the last few seasons but Dwight going on an all out war out of jealousy didn't really do much for me. Can't wait for the wedding next week though.
