  1. Billips has signed, and really I dont think that is the problem. The team is not that bad. They had tons of injuries. When you are a high draft pick you are not going to be going to a sure fire playoff team. I think of the teams in the lottery the bucks have the best chance of going to the playoffs. Now not having anyone to run the show, will hamper that unless LH can sign Francis or make a trade.
  2. or be forced to trade yi to get one. Steve Francis would never come here and he is a shell of his former self, but would be an option if he would take a 1 year deal to come here.
  3. according to the paper, Harris thought he was leaning towards the bucks. While I am a bucks fan, not really a Mo Williams fan. That being said I think he is the best pg we can get right now and the other options are terrible, so I feel that we should sign him. It must not be overlooked that while the Heat offer is 2 million less, the prospects of no income tax would make up some of that.
  4. If people start leaving their prospect sitting for long stretches, this feature would add nothing to bf.net. SOSH.com has a rule that if its inactive for more than a month that thread is deleted. I think there are enough people who are here every day that it could work if the effort is put into. People check their fantasy stats every day, how much extra time is it to check to see how their player did the night before. not too much.
  5. He does call him Braun brown.
  6. heard on the drive in that that is the case
  7. agreed, braun has been the best offensively and the worst defensively so far. I think Gordon will end up being the most complete 3rd baseman. Its still pretty incredible that 3 players from the same position went in the top 5 and all seems to be turning out to be pretty decent players. Ill admit that when they took Braun i was concerned because they took the 3rd best 3rd baseman in the draft, and thought they should of looked into getting the best player at another position. There is egg on my face over that one.
  8. guess the chinese fans wants Yi to play for the bucks more than his agents
  9. www.insomniacink.com/shirts.htm
  10. heard on 1250 yesterday that the admirals are holding a press conference at 1230 to announce its next head coach. Can't seem to find any further information anywhere on the web. Does anyone have anything else about this.
  11. hey if gets going i want dibs on Caleb Gindl EDIT: It sounds cool for numerous reasons. First of all it can make people more informed on lesser prospects in the system instead of just the elite couple. Its also cool to follow a player so close as they rise up the ranks to finally make it to the show.
  12. I actually was at that game in 89 when the Spiers - Valle fight broke out. I believe it was only the 3rd brewer game i went to in my life. I thought that fight was so cool, being a 9 year old just getting into baseball.
  13. this team has played 1/3 of a season (56 games) since starting 24-10 and is 4 under 500, including laying an egg during a 2-5 stretch against two pretty bad teams. There is at least some cause for concern i think.
  14. There was no mention to Yo's innings at all. He simply stated that Yo is one of the best 5 starters on the team and he should be in the rotation. There was no suggestion on who he would replace in the pen by calling up Parra. (pronounced his name incorrectly as well). Regarding Weeks, he only suggested acquiring an IF for when Weeks needs to sit out more games with the rest, there was no suggestion to permanently replace Weeks in the lineup. This was not a long segment so there wasn't that much more to it. He did say that he advocated bringing up Braun and Gallardo and those moves worked out, so these 3 would as well.
  15. sat there before, personally I don't care for the seats. You can't see the score board at all. Sometimes its hard to pick up where the ball is on fly balls to left and center. I much prefer the loge bleachers in either right or center. The cool thing though is that you are right over the visitors bullpen and can watch those pitchers warm up. here is a pic of the view www.seatdata.com/html/mlb...24x768.htm
  16. i wanted to show one of my female friends the blog in which girl post rumors about seeing athletes in bars and their encounters with them. I know someone has a pic from the website as their avatar and it has been linked to before. I can't find it what the website is. can someone help me
  17. He obviously is a big sports fan, but I think some of his opinions will be misguided. I was hoping that we could discuss his opinion as we would discuss anyone who writes a column or posts on this board. I would like to see Yo in the pen, i just don't see demoting Suppan or Cappy. If we find a decent trade for Bush or Vargas I would be fine with that. If we did his the trade he suggested we would have 2 backup IF's unless one got traded as well.
  18. Not sure i agree with all of it, but here is what he said 1) promote Gallardo to the rotation, demote either Suppan or Capuano 2) bring up Parra (didn't offer a suggestion on who to get rid of) 3)acquire a 2nd baseman for insurance for Weeks While I'd like to see Gallardo in the rotation, is its not a smart move if they are limiting their innings. Capuano had 2 starts since being hurt with no rehab ones. Suppan has shown the ability to be strong in the 2nd half. i wouldn't demote any of these. 2) Parra would be nice to have in the pen, but as stated before you have to bring someone down, and who is that going to be. He may be ready along with Balfour. The case could be made that Balfour would be more ready than Parra. Who knows though if Belling knows who Grant Balfour is. Parra would be a good 2nd lefty in the pen, but someone has to go down. 3) If a scenerio comes up to get an insurance 2nd baseman comes up, that is fine, but i wouldn't do it just to do it. Graffanino did fine last season in that role. He has been doing better of late, so i would let him have that role. I wouldn't want to give up a prospect or get rid of a starter just to have a 2nd baseman for 2 months.
  19. you got your wish, holiday is in.
  20. that was completely dumb. I remember Bay representing Canada and laying a goose egg. The worst part of that was only one US born hitter could be in it. I understand it was done to generate interest for the WBC, but it ruined the derby.
  21. according to espn, prince will bat 6th tomorrow and Peavy gets the start for the nl which i can't complain about.
  22. looks like Matt Holiday will be #8
  23. that is a good attutude, he should hit more than one, but I wouldn't want him to mess up his swing or get hurt for something like this.
