  1. i know this is a necessary thread, but its impossible. I give them a C. like we shall see.
  2. obviously I'm not in the room, but my guess is that the brewers just bought a 4.5MM Lottery ticket at Kwik Trip.
  3. Kelly slots #15 in Texas's MLB Pipeline. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/rangers/
  4. Ii was thinking the same thing. He was a guy I was looking at the brewers taking 1st last season as a guy who could help out in the pen sooner rather than later.
  5. its not a place to go to after sundown. I went their one spring and was surprised on run-down the neighborhood was. I believe the intention on putting that complex where they did was to spark addition development in that area. It has been a decade or so since I was there, but it wasn't happening back then.
  6. Personally I hope another move is made soon so we can move on. I think we know where we all stand on this.
  7. Late to the party since I was asleep when this went down. I kind of get the idea though without reading everyone's post. I don't think its a great trade, but I'm not watching Kelly play daily. If Stearns valued Kelly as a prospect he would have worked through the rule V thing. I doubt anyone would have taken him and stashed him in 2023. Stearns clearly doesn't value him as much as some here. As far as the off the field stuff, we don't know these players. I would love a team of choir boys. But we don't know ANYONE on this team . Their family history. Their personal drama. I try to focus on what they do on the field, because I know that atleast.
  8. for those complaining that the brewers are never going to compete with the big boys. Yes you are correct. Trades like today are a fact of life as a Brewers fan. Its never going to change. If it upsets you, then maybe being a Brewers fan is not for you. The goal of the brewers should be to keep players as long as possible to maximize value on the field, unload them to retool To me that is more exciting and rewarding rather than just outbidding everyone else to sign the top free agent. Also when the go all in, and sign someone like Yelich to a large deal and it doesn't go exactly perfect, fans complain too. Truth is closers are fickle. They can be great and all of sudden not be. Brewers history is filled with cases. If they signed Hader to a massive extension and he drops after turning 30, the same fans will be complaining about the albatross contract he signed. The brewers have shown that can go all in on a player or 2, but they can't be wrong because they aren't the Yankee who can write off a bad 200MM contract.
  9. thats a very astute point, They could have gotten a better prospect back if they didn't insist on a closer to help now. Of course we don't know how the talks went but I think is fair to assume that Stearns wasn't going to blow up 2022 to move Hader.
  10. I have yet to see a National MLB writer or outlet criticize this trade for the brewers, the sentiment is universally that they got a good return and didn't jeopardize their chances for 2022. FWIW.
  11. they will slot in 8/9 in our system FWIW.
  12. he was a all star last year, maybe a change of scenery is all he needed.
  13. their system is very good. I will be interested to see where they slot into ours.
  14. Considering is 12.54 July ERA and 1 season and 2 months of control the haul was only going to be so large.
  15. I"m no programmer, but there has to be a way to limit password sharing and still let you use your own device when you leave your area code? I have been thinking about switching to sling / this app in the fall to save a few dollars after brewers season, but this may be a reason not to.
  16. MLB and especially the brewers have become very sabermetric focused. I can't argue that OBP and OPS doesn't matter because it does. I said you want to have your better players higher in the lineup. I just always had the theory that if you took your 9 starters and picked names out of a hat, your offensive production wouldn't change much.
  17. I agree, also I also don't think the order of your lineup matters much. Yes you want to get your better hitters an extra atbat. But the entire you need to put your best power hitter 4th and your fastest guy 1st stuff is just antiquated.
  18. I was listening to talk radio yesterday and the host suggested the Brewers trade Hiura for Bell. I don't think they need Josh Bell. Also they would be giving up on Hiura for a 2 month rental. He has had success on the MLB level and can mash at triple A. He may just be a AAAA player, but the jury is still out.
  19. Are other teams doing significantly better signing wise? I just chose 1 organization and the classiest one of them all, the cardinals. They only signed 2 according to this site. https://www.mlb.com/news/cardinals-2022-draft-signings-tracker
  20. Late to the party, but I agree with everyone, even if you could edit his name once he has signed like what was done in the past, it would be awesome.
  21. I saw 17 and 19 are in the top 100 and 18th was not. Id love to get a switch thrower in the system.
  22. I think i have a favorite from this years draft. Anyone got an idea on signability?
  23. One more point, I’m happy about the focus on collegiate and juco players. They do need to get good players in double and triple a in short order.
  24. I don’t see any obvious overslot guys today which is disappointing that they didn’t try to get one.. I think your assessment is spot on.
  25. I love this pick. I have been comlaining for years that the seem to focus on players up the middle and tall power pitchers. I was upset that they traded Binelas and am happy that they at least used a high pick on an advanced 3rd base prospect.
