  1. looking at the photos from the scene this was highly predictable (that he was trashed and speeding dangerously)
  2. Didn’t get Edmunds but got McNichols. He is a lottery ticket that will be given 1st dibs I think at the lions share of pt. AP has missed half a season and doesn’t know the playbook. Will take him some time to get ready and if he doesn’t work out, I can cut him and find someone else or use that roster spot to stream players for the playoffs.
  3. rest of season, my running backs are OK. (Ekeler, Cordarrelle Patterson, Darrell Williams, and C-EH on IR. I just need to replace Henry on my roster.
  4. whom would you put your #1 priority on for the waiver wire: Chase Edmonds, Jeremy McNichols, AJ Dillon, or Boston Scott? Currently i have it in the order above 1-4
  5. i don't think there was a city edition I really care for, but really not a fan of this years. https://www.nba.com/bucks/video/teams/bucks/2021/11/01/507775/1635773097303-2122citylaunch-1920x1080-507775 way too much going on here, trying to combine 3 uniforms into 1.
  6. Rough weekend. Knocked out of my survivor league with the Bengals loosing and Henry out for the year in fantasy most likely.
  7. for a thread about Matt Arnold he hasn't been mentioned in 3 pages. maybe time to lock up????
  8. 2 things come to mind. Isn't there bigger animal rights issues than calling what relievers warm up bullpens and if you are going to come up with a stupid cause, hire a better marketing person to come up with a better replacement name.
  9. he only had 1 year left. Padres asked and received permission to talk to him. I'm sure the Athletics just would have preferred to go cheap and hire a rookie manager. He signed a new 3 year deal. Home run hire for the Padres, and A's fans have to be upset.
  10. this probably belongs in its own thread, but its hard to compare the 2, they had different philophosies and levels of success. Melvin went for power hitters, stearns seems to prefer athletes that play in the middle of the diamond. Melvin seemed to prefer larger pitchers with big fastballs, Stearns more "complete" pitchers. Brewers have had unmatched level of success under Stearns. Thats really all that matters. (scoreboard baby). While Melvin was a great GM, picking him over Stearns is a hard argument to make.
  11. kind of off topic but the packers are leaving WTMJ for 97.3 FM the game starting next season. Something I never thought I'd see. Starting broadcasting the packers on tmj in 1929 according to the story i read this afternoon. another case where money talks.
  12. from John Heyman's twitter Maybe i'm confusing football and baseball....
  13. If the Brewers could get player compensation back for letting Arnold go to New York ... that would be pretty sweet. Review what the Sox got for Epstein. The player compensation is never that great.
  14. How can they, it’s a promotion.
  15. I agree you don't need to hire an established GM. Brewers didn't last time and did pretty darn well. Stearns when hired had control of the baseball operations. Whomever the GM is, Stearns / Attansanio will still have the final say on transactions.
  16. IF the brewers GM job is open, how appealing is it? You are basically a GM In title only. Can't see top candidates flocking to apply, but maybe I am wrong and Arnold did more than was publicly known.
  17. https://reviewingthebrew.com/2021/10/21/brewers-4-external-hitting-coach-candidates-target/ Lind seems like a very intriguing hire. Fatse too from the Red Sox.
  18. off topic, but after a disasterous week 1, Packers D has been pretty good despite being depleted.
  19. its my favorite time of the fantasy season, where you can get players on the WW that should never be released if you are willing to hold on to a player during his bye week. put in a claim for Bass whom if I can get, i will use as my kicker for the rest of the season. considering putting in a claim for Emanual Sanders, but don't need a WR that bad and then I am wasting 2 bench spots in a week, where I have some key players on byes too. Its a great time to build your roster for the playoffs.
  20. least surprising news of the offseason
  21. I'm sure ownership would do it in a second if Stearns is agreeable
  22. I'm pretty sure he needs ownership approval on all trades so the odds that he would let the Mets fleece us isn't that great. My comment was based on the possibility of trading top prospects for rentals to try to win in all and let the new GM deal with the farm system. He said all of the right stuff today, so maybe this whole conspiracy theory is a moot point.
  23. I never said he would ruin the brewers intentionally. If he felt that that 2022 was his last year in Milwaukee he may trade top prospects for rentals to win it all that he may not have in the past. Melvin made some minor trades before he left, a-ram was the biggest one and he got little back. All of the major trades were done by stearns.
  24. thats fine and I don't anticipate Stearns getting permission. BUT you can't have a club president in a lame duck situation. There would be no need to build for the future, since you aren't part of it. If the mets want him, they can hire an interim for a year and steal Stearns next winter. Mark A needs to see if he will commit to being here.
  25. Jon Heyman reported last night that Stearns has 1 year left on his deal, which is news (atleast to me). Yes you can deny permission if the brewers are asked, but then you risk him not extending his deal
