  1. Ted Davis is announcing his retirement. It doesn't seem like he has been around as long as he did, but he has been doing this since 97-98. His replacement will be very interesting, but whomever it is has large shoes to fill. With Paschke gone, game broadcasts will be completely different obviously. He really never gets mentioned with the other milwaukee sports broadcasting legends, but should be.
  2. I'm fine with that. The last group of new coach hires were less than inspirational. If you want to replace a coach that just won a championship you better have a homerun hire in your back pocket.
  3. options are very few in Nashville. Besides wasting Turang's service time, there isn't a good option. I'm OK with this
  4. I'll agree that the modeled pictures don't look good. It is some weird Oregon uniform. Its its forest green and and deep dark yellow it should look OK and its a change if pace from always being blue and gold.
  5. unless someone had thoughts about going to both, no big deal. DVR the packer game after the bucks one. Christmas pretty much planned out.
  6. they got him for jackson who has been a disappointment. Change of scenery trade.
  7. excited to see what Binelas can do in low A!
  8. You keep Norris, he was brought in to get lefties out. I agree option Sanchez and Gustave. Maybe one of those guys come up when they go to 28, but I said in the other thread i'm guessing Topa is #28 in September.
  9. No surprise. Pretty happy with the offseason. my only beef, is one that I can't even beef about was the trading of the draft pick, but they got a pretty good shooter off of the bench for those 2 picks, which is more valuable than the 31st pick in the draft. They did really well. I think the east is a little deeper this year, but it should come down to the nets and bucks again for the right to go to the finals.
  10. they can bring up 2 players. Ashby will be one of them. I think it makes sense to give the last spot to Topa rather than have an extra bat off of the bench.
  11. Brewers don't need him, I think an AL team may pick him up because he still hits the ball a mile and would be an OK choice for PH / DH. Just like Shaw its best for both parties to move on, because of how the roster has changed since they got hurt. Regarding the roster, if a player is on the team August 31st, he is eligible. Axford would have been eligible for postseason if he didn't get hurt.
  12. he was horrible in Memphis, yes its a name, but terrible trade for Clippers. I'm sure its 3 for 1 because salaries have to match up.
  13. keeping these 2nd round picks and drafting older players makes sense. Bucks may have hit on another one in Sandro. Atleast i like what he did in college and brings an interesting skill set to the team
  14. The bucks did need to add 3 point shooters to their bench which they did this offseason with Hood, Hill and Allen. Those that complained (I'm guilty too) that complained about the bucks trading down in the 2nd, now see what doing that has done. The 2 extra 2nd's got the bucks Grayson Allen for last year's second and 2 additional 2nds. It is true that the bucks will be able to only sign DDV or Allen, but their depth at the SG position is greatly improved for next season, which is all they probably care about right now. Bucks continue to have a good offseason, no matter how many complain that they couldn't figure out to keep Tucker.
  15. from the grizzlies beat writer for the athletic: Needed to clear roster spot, positional logjam, and free up some money. Grayson Allen deal to Milwaukee makes sense. Did him a solid. Taylor Jenkins may not be pleased but this was a necessary move from the Grizzlies FO.
  16. Bucks get Grayson Allen for Merrill and 2 2nds. Minus the fact that I couldn't stand him at Duke, he should add some 3 point shooting off of the bench.
  17. The largest issue with that is that they have no 1st round draft picks to trade away. they have to keep theirs this upcoming season. Between the holiday and tucker trade, its going to be hard to trade away any further ones through Giannis' contract extension. Also there would be luxury tax issues unless the trading team would take on a contract to match salaries.
  18. Personally I think they could have done better than Hill. That being said, they needed a backup PG and he knows the system / team. 4MM a year is nothing by NBA standards. You can't fault them for not signing Tucker, because of the luxury tax, signing Tucker to a 15MM deal would have cost the bucks 50 Million actually in taxes. I think they had an OK offseason, knowing they didn't have to do much, as all of their key people were locked up. I preferred Portis to Tucker. Once Portis took less to stay, bucks had no choice but to let him walk.
  19. looks likw bucks got cheaper versions of Tucker and Forbes on one year deals. I think they will find someone to take their MLE and be done with free agency. They didn't have to do much and have been able to address needs without spending $. If they can get Lou Williams to take their MLE, i think they should be pretty happy with free agency.
  20. It’s a lot of picks because it’s valuable. As I said at 31 you basically are drafting a 1st without having to give him a guaranteed contract. Now you have 2 late 2nds that aren’t going to get on the court this season.
  21. The athletic is reporting that the bucks are trying to use this pick to get a veteran. With their cap situation, I don’t see how this is possible. I just hope they get an upperclassman tomorrow or trade it for a veteran.
  22. Rappaport reporting that Rodgers has now told those close to him that he will play this upcoming season, which begs the question, what was the point of the offseason? He has lost a bunch of the fan base and got nothing. I know he wanted to test the Packers to see if he could get out of town but it was pretty clear early on that they were not budging. I know he hasn't said anything so he has plausible deniability, but everyone knows what happened.
  23. I think Garza is a late 2nd.
  24. Garza would be ok but I think he is a late first. Aaron Henry? I’d like them to take an older player this draft
  25. yeah but Gold lasted 6 days and Marquette realized the backlash and reversed coarse. Don't the teams run this by focus groups or people that should have the pulse of the city. We don't live there and aren't fans of the teams. Maybe it plays well in Cleveland, but nationally it doesn't seem to be playing well.
